ok so here i am.. thinking about my life.. between my friends and my studies..
this post may come to you as unusual.. seeing as how i'm usually so emo-fied.. haha..
so anyhoos...
let me pose you all a question..
What makes You happy? :)
is it attaining good grades? being successful? owning your very own car? friends? love?
(i can't really talk about getting jobs or promotions coz most of us here are teens or young adults.. so let's assume success is equivalent to our grades k? lol)
these rites of passage read like a checklist.. funny how each time you tick them off.. you'll be caught smiling :)
but look a little deeper.. happiness does not really stem from the car you drive or the As you get but, rather, it's from within.. and as circumstances change, so does what you want out of life..
does success work hand-in-hand with happiness?i say yes.. but not all the time..
happiness is just an emotional state that gives us pleasure.. feeling good may come as a result of success from other things, like spending quality time with your friends.. i'm sure friends make your day anytime right? :)
like many other emotions, happiness comes and goes, while success is an outcome of achieving a goal..
it's like.... people like me can get high on having great relationships with people.. while some, on the other hand, may feel uber terrific about being the next CEO or something.. in most of our cases.. getting first class honours? lol..
i mean.. yes, there will always be an assumption that "success = happiness".. but don't you think not all successful people are really that contented with their lives neither do all happy people have it all.. but there's no doubt that happiness is the forerunner to leading a fulfilling and accomplished life though..
desire is, in fact, endless.. and that means life doesn't stop once we reach our achievements ya?
as the cliche goes ~ people tend to regret the things they didn't do more than the things they did..
if happiness could come in a package, what would it comprise of? what do you want in it?to each his own.. duh! haha..
the learning curves you go through, no matter how rough the ride is, should be celebrated as the pathway to learning who you are inside and what you want.. life experiences mould you.. and in fact, in the long run, it shapes your character and builds up your self-confidence..
we should learn to accept the fact that everyone goes through the hurt and rejection in some point in their lives.. hey~ we're only human ya? heehee.. to expect otherwise will only leave you in disappointment and emptiness.. or even failure..
happiness isn't about chasing fleeting moments of joy but rather how you choose to create themost meaningful life for yourself.. think about what you value.. put time and effort into what you deem worthy in your life.. life is short.. and time waits for no man..
so to all those who are down and frowning.. cheer up alright.. do something you like.. and treasure what you still have around you :)
so to all my friends and family. Thank You~ =)
-remember to smile! :)-
