The passing of our Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley is bittersweet. Many of us will all be missing the same things about him... his humor, his well put advice, his bright little eyes that always twinkled, his faith in the members, his love for going and doing... I could go on, but you all know what I'm talking about. While my dad was on his mission he had the opportunity to work with President Hinckley (way before he became church president), I loved to hear what he had to say about him... especially the way my dad put it. :) -- Two men that I miss. The bitter is that our prophet has passed on and we no longer get to have him. The sweet is that he gets to be with his wife and those who have also moved on. I wonder what it was like for him when he "arrived."
A friend of mine put together a video to honor him. I encourage you to take the 3 minutes to check it out: http://www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=4e298919355acf147e6bb2&skin_id=701&utm_source=otm&utm_medium=text_url,
Here is a slide show from the BYU website : http://photo.byu.edu/video.php?cat1=Slide%20Shows&cat2=General&cat3=2008&cat4=Hinckley%20Tribute
My friend also had this poem posted on her blog which I like as well: (Thanks "Tiffunny")
Prophetic Passing
I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.
I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.
I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, "Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son."
I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.
I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward — there's work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.

May we all move forward, may we "stand a little taller, rise a little higher, be a little better..."
