ok pardon the lack of updates.
So far this week hasn't been eventful. All the camps, gatherings etc. start next week. I had badminton on Tuesday with Kiap and Kenneth. It's great to be back playing badminton after a hiatus of many months, but my badminton is admittedly subpar =_= Still, pretty good exercise and a workout.
Then these two days were rather free, so I decided to spend some time clearing up my shelves. Yes, I found lots of things that I didn't know I had. Such as my the entire list of 3-3's English Results in FYE. (I thought I had returned it to Mrs Tang). Then I found the 4-3 crossword puzzle that I and Joshua made out of complete boredom. And a stash of funny and random essays composed also out of total boredom during the Secondary 2 days.
Somehow, for the past week, I have been getting rather moody for no absolute reason. Is this common at all? Mood swings of all sorts... I hope its part and parcel of growing up and developing to become a stronger person.
Oh well, at least I'm something to look forward to. A camp at an idyllic island from Monday to Thursday, followed by a sentosa outing right after that. Plus the 2010 PC show.
Right now I'm scanning through the list of top 100 songs on Billboard. OMG is still number 1 for like the third week running? Those hot songs like Tik Tok by Ke$ha are still ranked decently. And something which I don't really like: Lee Dewyze's rendition of Beautiful Day. In my opinion, U2's version is better. Sorry to hurt any one of you who are his fans...
So that's all I have to say for now,
oyasuminasai!

Housekeeping
Isn't it true that every time you do an intensive cleaning up of your house (especially your room), you're bound to stumble upon something of high nostalgic and sentimental value? Well, that has been my experience, and today' housekeeping session revealed some of the funniest essays that I had written with my Secondary 2 classmates during those Lit Expression group discussion sessions. Sigh, imaginative literature seemed so interesting at times, which led me to choose Lit in Upper sec.
Sadly, that was the biggest regret ever in my academic life. I hated Literature. Oh well...
It just makes me realise how fun Secondary school life was when were [a little] younger. Not saying that JC life is bad, but I still miss Secondary school at times.

I've been "sick" for pretty long already.. After that three day MC 3 weeks back, I had a bit of throat problems and coughing and now I'm down with another flu of some sort... Terrible coughing..
That said, yesterday was pretty eventful again I'm glad. Did a fair bit of travelling around the Bishan, Thomson and Chinatown areas helping Kiap look for flowers to give during his school's band concert that night...
I've never realised that flowers can be so expensive... Probably because those "popular" and "exotic" flowers are difficult to grow in Singapore? And because of budget restraints making the right choice was challenging too. Quality VS Quantity VS Price... Talk about Marginal Cost VS Marginal Benefit. (Economics in action =_=)
Initially also wanted to drop by KKnM and meet my junior there, but apparently we got the opening hours wrong, so didn't manage to go there yesterday. Haven't really looked at anime merchandise for quite some time already, but got to consider the shrinking wallet that lies in my pocket..
Oh well, got to get some rest soon and consider my rather bad sleeping patterns =X

Admit it, most of us will have the occasional tendency to look up youtube for some entertaining videos when they're tired/stressed/bored/
MAD TV
The epitome of comedy. Can be called the expert of parodies. You could start with Mad TV Korean Drama (featuring Bobby Lee), Dragon Hunter, 3-minute meal. I probably laughed my head off a lot while watching their videos.
FAMILY GUY
Hulu.com posts short snippits of Family Guy episodes on youtube. Family Guy is essentially somewhat similar to Simpsons, albeit a bit of mature language used at times. It's an animated series from the US and err.. you have to watch some snippits before you understand how funny (and lame) it can be.
UNJASH
Japanese comedy skits. A lot of them online have subtitles, just go for those ones. If you understand Japanese (which I don't), it'll be funnier. It uses a lot of puns and gimmicks. Once again, it's difficult to use words to describe it's ingenuity, creativity and originality.
IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO MICROWAVE THIS?
Call this sadist, disgusting, whatever it may be... The coolest episode of IIAGITMT is probably the one on a bar of soap. The hosts have done a lot so that you don't have to risk destroying your oven to see what are the effects of microwaving anything under the sun (provided it can fit in the oven).
Of course, as with many people, I use youtube to check out the latest singles, with reference to Billboard's chart lists. Most prominent artists have their own official page for music videos on Youtube.
So yea that's all for now =)

MY THROAT CAN GO SCREW ITSELF...
This really reminds me of really bad case of respiratory tract infection in P6. At that time, I seriously felt like dying... but all that was needed was just antibiotics. Seriously, having a throat that is so bad until you can't talk without coughing is absolutely NO JOKE. It's a living hell here now... The best thing? It's a public holiday and no clinics are open. FK. At this rate, I will seriously need antibiotics.. and the only place where I can go? The Hospital =_=
Well, at least my throat didn't choose to betray me yesterday during the GP common test. But it's now seriously effing irritating.

=)
Today was fairly eventful... I'm glad..
The first highlight was the GP examination. Paper 1 was ok, as with most essay papers. I did the environment question. Paper 2 was.... a bloodbath. I'm not surprised if I fail paper 2.
But what's more exciting is the trip to the Singapore Flyer. Yep, I haven't been on it before, and our school is giving the scholars (and I'm a foreigner so I'm counted as one) and a few Singaporeans (1 per class) a free trip to it, inclusive of a nice free lunch at Seafood Paradise =P
The best part of it all was the camwhoring sessions on the Singapore Flyer =)
Oh well, check out the photos on facebook. Too lazy to post here....
Now, one more day to the end of term 2! But got a 3.5 hour break between the end of school tomorrow and the Eco-lit briefing.. Sigh...
I am SO looking forward to the holidays. =)

Life seriously sucks when...
your throat betrays you for the third time in a fortnight... Sigh.. on a strepsils spree...
That said, I can't wait for the St. John's island camp.. Planning our meals is fun enough.. We have to decide how we are going to cook 8 meals + BBQ, and purchase the food ourselves. Yep, no caterer on the island itself... Plus, stargazing, visits to the marine institute, fishing (woots), nature journalling etc.
I'll bring my camera along, so expect some photos up here in 3 weeks' time.. Meanwhile GP common test coming up on Wednesday, followed by some trip organised by the school for International students (I'm not a scholar, but I'm still counted as one =_=) to the Singapore Flyer. At least it's free and I've never gone on it before, so never mind.
The June Holidays better come soon =)

LONG DAY =P
Time to blog about a really long day...
So had ecolit field trip in the morning.. to a little-known place... It's some nature reserve which is accessible from the very end of Rifle Range road. That place is one of the few areas where natural streams and rivers can be observed in their relatively undisturbed state. It's also a fairly good spot for photographs, which I took a lot today.
The thing is, 2 things spoilt the experience, or rather, made it more eventful. First, a stupid bee stalked me for 15 minutes. I can't smash it, because you know, smashing bees attracts the rest of the swarm... So I had to shake it off by walking fast and far. Second, the relentless rainfall really drenched me to the skin, and played a vital role in changing the colour of my canvas shoes.. from white to brown. Ironically, later that day, kiap and gang considered the shoe to look cooler when brown than when white =_=
Oh well, it was a nice and long walk, despite the bad weather. Having no umbrellas on such a field trip really sucks...
After the rather fun experience of seeing nature work wonders on your shoes, VJCO concert was next in the afternoon. Meet up with kiap, KCS, Hongshing, Des and Jonk to watch the VJCO perform... Frankly, I still don't know how to appreciate chinese music, but I did really enjoy their rendition of Matsuri originally by Kitaro (If you've never heard Matsuri, go and die).
Then after that, dinner at some place called Thai Pan. It's a restaurant located inside some condominium which is freaking affordable and charges no GST and service charge. For the 6 of us, we ordered large cereal chicken, large butter squid, medium sambal kangkong, medium tofu, 3 portions of medium fried rice, all for the super affordable OMGWTFBBQ price of $67...
Restaurant food has never been so cheap..
Oh well.. and if you thought my day had ended, nope...
KOI cafe at Marine Parade! Kiap introduced us to the Chin Chow (grass jelly) milk tea... It looks awful but the taste is really... "divine". Sorry about the inverted commas, but I don't really like chin chow in the first place...
And then window shopping around Parkway Parade, getting stuff from Marks and Spencer...
Arh.. Quite drained.. But I have tutorials and other stuff to do...
Not to mention another episode of ANGEL BEATS...
It's always great to wind down and watch an anime episode before doing work and burning midnight oil...
Oh well... That's all for now.. Oyasuminasai!

Out of [YET ANOTHER SUPER LONG] Hiatus
Yes, yes, yes... I've been struggling with my willpower to revive my blog and now it is back.. hopefully for longer than my last sustained effort...
It's been 4 months+ since JC started and things have been fairly ok so far, with a mix of good and bad... My stress/anxiety attacks coupled with this stupid IBS made a comeback, after more than half a year of remission. Chemistry made us feel cheated, cus the O levels made it oversimplified... Economics is totally alien and probably one of my largest regrets, second to taking Literature in Upper Sec.
I've been thinking recently, should I have taken BCMG instead? I mean, Biology is still my favourite of the three sciences, and although I'm ok with physics, it's getting more and more boring... Economics is a complete bore too, and I see the relevance of it to society but absolutely have no interest in it. Geography's a better choice?
11S06P is a fun class.. I mean you got like a boy soprano, two martial artists, two (or three) choristers, two councillors, an Alpha male (TSK TSK) among many other interesting personalities... Coming to RJC wasn't a bad idea, at least you get exposed to a wide diversity of people of various talents...
And teachers... I'm not in a good position to comment. Some are fun, some are inflexible, some are boring, some are average... Not saying who is who. Go figure =P
Sian... Life's really average now... I hate some of the subjects I take, the workload is insane at times... On the good side, I got fun classmates, a few fun teachers. Perhaps things will turn for the better?
Oh well... That's all I have to say for now. Ttyl.

Out of hiatus
Out of [yet another] hiatus.
So recently TWO things have been on the minds of most people, Michael Jackson and H1N1.
Yea I dun have to say what happened since you ought to know already luh.
I'm not a fan of MJ so I can't comment much.
H1N1 seems kinda scary for the time being. Fortunately, flu epidemics are not very fatal to most people =P. Singapore has had 599 cases so far, which is a scary figure considering there were less than 200 cases at the start of last week.
And because of that, I can't go back to Hong Kong during the one week break (to avoid the LOA which is mandatory). But yea, it's not a big deal for the time being.
Anw today was pretty eventful and accomplished.
Haven't been to orchard for like ages?
Went shopping mall hopping with D, D, E and K.
It's seriously some sort of shopping tour which saw us walk a long way for the whole afternoon.
Plus got to see part of the AYG torch relay, which coincidentally, was taking place at the same time at Orchard Road.
Oh well... Plus dinner at Secret Recipe =P
