productive day

On Fridays I watch a friend's two kids.
Bella is Camryn's age
& Gav is three.
Sooooooooooooooooooo,
I scrapped today.
Most of the items on these layouts
were from the July Studio Calico kit.
The kids are gone now,
& me & Cam are chillin'
while Ashlyn is shopping w/grandma:)
Hoping to get one more layout completed.
Thanks for stopping by!!

2S4U - Kazan #57 sketch

I have loved staying busy this summer.
The girls & I have been getting lots
of sun~time at the beach & pool.
This week is VBS @ our church,
so I'm excited to get
some scrappy time in the AM.
I missed all the sketches last week,
but am working right through this week's,
starting with 2S4U-Kazan's 57 sketch.
When I first saw this sketch,
I was planning on waves & a fish w/bubbles.
How I came to this card......?
But, I'm glad I finally used this paper!!
I've also been seeing the lovely new trim
by American Crafts in the Dear Lizzy line.
So, while shopping yesterday,
I found IDENTICAL trim @ HL.
I ended up getting this trim instead,
as I liked the smaller width.
I included a close-up,
as it's scrumptious &
I got it in 3 different colors.

Supplies: American Crafts patterned paper (all) & letter stickers; JoAnn's trim

I'm also including a layout I did last week.
I try to do a couple a week,
but don't use any challenges or sketches,
so I don't often upload to my blog.
But, if I'm gonna do them,
by golly,
someone's going to see them:)
Now I gotta get me some breakfast.
I was so excited to scrap,
I drank my coffee & that's it*yikes*
Have a great one!!

gettin' my weekend on!!

Since I don't work,
everyday is kinda like
a weekend to me.
But, I still look forward
to weekend plans.
With it being 4th of July weekend,
I'm lookin' forward to plans with family.
Maybe I'll make some banana pudding?
This morning hubby let me go to Michael's.
They have their punches 40% off,
plus I had a 15% coupon.
There are 2 punches I wanted,
but unfortunately, they didn't have either.
I still managed to pick up 2 others,
along w/a couple packs of Thickers.
So, on this card,
I used older Basic Grey &K& Co. papers,
my new border punch,
& Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 119.
Supplies: Basic Grey & K&Co papers; Basic Grey fabric tag; Jenni Bowlin butterfly; EK Success border punch
Below are a few layouts
I've done over the past week.
Nothing earth-shattering
except maybe using some older product.
And this sweet picture
is Chloe!!
She's about 7-wks old
& was hand-raised by my sister.
She has another sister & a brother,
so my sister's trying to find them homes.
We're thinking of keeping her,
but Macy, our 1-year old cat,
isn't too keen on the idea.
So, we're gonna see how it goes until Sunday.

I hope you have fun plans this weekend.
Happy 4th of July to you & your family!!

*it's official*

I run!!!
That might not seem like a big deal,
but to me it is.
I always professed to NOT be a runner.
Not because I couldn't do it,
but simply because I figured.....
"Why?"
I've been walking for awhile
& one day decided to "jog" a little.
It didn't take long to realize,
I was getting done quicker:)
I suffered shin splints due to
not having good running shoes.
So yesterday while shopping for Father's Day,
I purchased me a good pair of running shoes.
Took my first run in them last night
& boy howdy....................
the shoes definitely make the run!!!
I actually enjoyed myself,
& think I'll make a habit of this thing called "running!!"

The girls are at church this week,
participating in a summer recreation thingy.
So, today I decided to
get a couple of Father's Day cards done.
Only 1 more to go.
For the first card,
I used the 2S4U-Laura #54 sketch.
Still playing around with
My Minds Eye "So Sophie" from ScrapHappy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers & die-cut tags; Offray rhinestones & twine

For this card I used CPS 171.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers; Heidi Swapp acetate hearts; Chatterbox letter stickers & Offray rhinestones

These layouts were made using
more My Minds Eye "So Sophie."
I really enjoyed this line
more than I thought I would.
Full of blues, greens & browns
& versatile enough for girls.

And that's all for now.
Gotta get some food started.
Girls should be home soon
& I know they'll be starving!!

Taylored Expressions Sketch #117

Here's a card using some
of My Minds Eye "So Sophie."
It instantly reminded me of Christmas
& matches Cosmo Cricket's last Christmas line
& some of My Minds Eye Quite Contrary.
So this line is extremely versatile.
I used the current
Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #117

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers; Cosmo Cricket chipboard

Even though I immediately thought Christmas,
this line can be used for everyday.
Something about these colors makes me happy!!
Here's a few layouts I made for ScrapHappy.

I have a few more projects,
but I'll wait til later this weekend.
Hoping to get more accomplished!!
Enjoy your weekend!!

2S4U - Kazan Sketch 52

So in an earlier post I mentioned Nancy,
my Bible Study Fellowship teaching leader,
is leaving after 30+ years of teaching.
I volunteered to make a card
& I made this card.
Half-way through the day,
I really wasn't happy with the card.
I guess I had envisioned something
a little more elegant?
So, I pulled out some Pink Paislee
& used 2 Sketch 4 U - Kazan's #52 sketch.
I'm liking this card MUCH better.

Supplies: Crate Paper; Pink Paislee stamp & fabric trim; Fiskar border punch; flower by Danielle Flanders; Basic Grey letter stickers; rhinestones

I also found out there's another scrapper in the group.
Last week she gave everyone a small kit
& asked us to make a layout of ourselves.
We're giving Nancy an album
that will contain approximately 40 pages
of each lady in the group.
Here's my page:

Supplies: K&Co patterned paper; Prima flower & leaves; Maya Road envelope; American Crafts letters; Fiskar border punch; fabric

Still didn't get Camryn's graduation invites started.
Guess that's what I'll be doing tomorrow!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

TESC #111 *2nd post*

Still not getting much accomplished.
At least,
not in the scrapping sense!!
I made a card using the current TESC #111.
When I was finished,
I didn't think anyone would recognize the sketch,
so I made another card (no arm twisting over here:)

Look for this card in the October 2010 issue of CARDS magazine

Supplies: Pink Paislee Queen Bee papers; die; cork; acrylic stamp & brad; Pink Paislee letters

This is just a quick layout I made yesterday.
Hubby showed Ashlyn how to shoot his Red Ryder.
She thought it was fun,
but didn't have too much interest.
Must be a boy thing.

I still have about an hour left
before the family arrives home.
So, I'll see about getting something done.

Happy National Scrapbook Day & 2S4U

Are you scrappin' today?
I'm trying:)
It's so gloomy over here.
The rain has stopped
& the sun was supposed to be out by noon,
but I think someone forgot to tell him:)
So, the girls are with the in-laws
& I'm trying to scrap,
but I keep getting sidetracked!!

I might have several posts today.
So, if you have time in between scrapping,
I hope you'll come back to visit.
First up are a few projects I made
for Scrap Happy,
who is hosting their 2nd annual NSD crop.
I can't remember who makes the background paper,
but I paired with My Minds Eye papers & stickers
& a few sticker accents from Jillibean Soup.

For this gift set,
I used a Cosmo Cricket black box.
The idea is to fill with candy
& then they can put the lid on the underside
& use to store pens, pencils & scissors?
For the card,
I used Kazan's #51 sketch at 2S4U.

Off to get some lunch,
get a few more projects completed
& maybe one more post today!!
Happy Scrappin'!!!

TESC #110

It's rainy & stormy today,
which makes for perfect scrapping & napping weather:)
Yep................
I'm gettin' ready to take a nap with the girlies.
LOVE weather like this.
So, after I uploaded my card for the TESC #109,
I realized I was a week behind.
They had already uploaded the TESC #110 sketch.
So, I pulled out my new Pink Paislee "Queen Bee."
I've had it for awhile,
but couldn't bring myself to cut it up.
AND,
check it out.....
I stamped the crown & word "queen."
Yippee!!

Supplies: Pink Paislee Queen Bee papers, cork accents, die-cut label & stamps; Staz-on Black ink; Fiskar border punch; twine

I also made a few layouts
using some more My Minds Eye
from Scrap Happy.
I even made a boy layout:)

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Jack & Jill" paper; sticker quote; Lush red letters; Fiskar border punch

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers; Lush red letters & brads; Fiskar border punches; October Afternoon alphabet letters

Okay, I hear my pillow calling:)
Gotta go nap!!

CPS 163

So I did make a few more cards yesterday.
The first one uses the current CPS 163 sketch.
I pulled out some older Basic Grey
& ended up using a Prima package.
I just loved the green & decorative edge.

Supplies: Bazzill; Basic Grey paper; Prima flower & packaging; Pink Paislee letter stickers; K&Co pearl rhinestones
These next 2 layouts I did last week.
I love how they turned out.
The birdhouses were hand-cut
from a sheet of Jillibean paper.
LOVE this paper.

Supplies: Studio Calico (background); 7Gypsies (text); Crate Paper (blue & yellow) & Jillibean (bird houses) papers; Jenni Bowlin butterfly; American Crafts (comfy) & Basic Grey (home) letter stickers
Supplies: Sassafrass (background) & Basic Grey (black ledger) papers; My Minds Eye "token" ticket; Jillibean corrugated & yellow alphabet letters

I was also able to get another card made,
using the 2S4U bonus sketch.
I'll post that later this week.
I'm really hoping to get more scrapping done.
I feel like I haven't scrapped in weeks
& it really feels good to get something accomplished.

final My Minds Eye projects

I'm trying to wrap up my projects
for Scrap Happy, using My Minds Eye
Little Boy Blue, Lush & Mary Mary.
I still have product to work with
so I'm gonna try & use it up.
Did you know Little Boy Blue goes really well
with Cosmo Cricket Earth Love
& Basic Grey's Origins?
"smiles"

Supplies: My Minds Eye Little Boy Blue patterned paper
My Minds Eye die-cut tree, ticket stub & owl
American Crafts Thickers & stickers
Flower handmade with fabric

I adore her style!

"it's a box"

Supplies: My Minds Eye Little Boy Blue patterned paper
Basic Grey Lace paper & fabric brad
Sassafras(yellow) & October Afternoon (blue)alphabet stickers

2 Sketches 4 U & ScrapHappy

Did I say my hiatus was over?
*oops*
I did get busy yesterday
& this morning,
using new My Minds Eye, Quite Contrary
& Making Memories Lush from Scrap Happy.
To kick things off,
I started with the current sketch
over at 2 Sketches 4 U.

The rest are self-explanatory.
I did use Tattered Angels mist on these eggs.
Aren't they cute?
Embellished the top of the flower
with some felt, pearl rhinestones & a brad.

This was made using a french fry container.
I also made the little felt flower.
I find the felt so much easier to use than ribbon.
I'll definitely be making more.

One more card using
another flower I made using fabric & tulle.
I will definitely be making more of these too.

Welp, off to scrap more.
I've got some of the My Minds Eye,
Little Boy Blue collection to work with!!

hiatus over

I know I've been absent
but the ole' bloggy's
been on my mind.
So much going on at the homefront,
but hoping things will settle down
in the next few weeks.
At least FCAT is over
& I'm looking forward
to the end of the school year!!!
In the meantime,
I've done a few layouts here & there
& am showing 2 of them below.
Nothing special about them,
in fact,
fairly simplistic,
but I'm happy with them.
On the first,
I can't help thinking
I need to add something else.
I'm thinking circles &
might add them above the scalloped brown?

I am making some handmade flowers.
Seems everyone is making them
& putting tutorials up all over the web.
Tried my hand w/a few using fabric & felt
& LOVE the results.
I'm hoping to make a few tonight
& might get them posted by tomorrow?
Otherwise, this weekend I'm headed
to Birmingham for a Bible Study Fellowship retreat.
Looking forward to this time w/some special ladies.
Thanks for stopping by
& enjoy the rest of your day!!

recouping

We're back from our Tennessee trip.
What a blast!!!
The girls got to experience the thrill of snow.
Everything, except it falling from the sky.
These photos were taken as soon
as we pulled up to the cabin.
They both scrambled out,
& immediately started throwing
snowballs at each other!!
Notice, us Floridians are too cool to wear snow gear:)
That didn't last long..........
believe me!!

I started this layout before I left
& finished it this morning.
Though the sun is out
& I tried to use sunlight from the window,
my flash kept going off.
So the picture isn't that great.
Just using some Pink Paislee Cupid
for my lsss, Scrap Happy.

Ashlyn has some friends over today
and they're playing Band Hero.
I'm gonna try to scrap some "snow" pictures.
Scrapping snow layouts is something
I've not had the pleasure of doing yet!!

Thanks for visiting!!
