Design Team Post for my mum

  • Morning everyone, hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend. Today I'm showing a card that I have made with my mum in mind. Over at Craft Challenge this week there is another great chance to win a prize, the theme is Mothers' Day/Female and you can enter the challenge here

I started by using walnut stain distress ink round the edge of white card.

I then found a photo of my mum when she was younger, I edited into sepia and printed it out on copier paper.

I love this photo of her and it reminds me just how much my sister looks likes her. I tore round the edges and used the same ink round the edges. I then mounted it onto to some lace which is laying on some burlap.

I used some paper from graphic 45's secret garden again using distress ink round the edge. I also added some pearls.

I decided to hand write the sentiment and framed it in this metal frame from a local craft store. I attached it to the card and then used glossy accents ontop.

I then added some paper roses which I distressed first with old paper and then added a touch of peacock feathers.

And here is the finished card

Thank you for looking and I would love to read your comments

  8. Your mum looks so pretty and so happy on this gorgeous card. The colour combo is delicious and I love those fabulous roses. Obviously I haven't met your sister, but I think you look like your mum too. You have the same lovely smile. I'm sure she'll love this: it's so pretty - perfect for Mother's Day. Julie Ann xxx
