Disney Infinity 3.0 STAR WARS!!! GAME REVIEW!

What is it?

What is it? Do I really have to spell it out for you? It's the newest version of the "Toys Come Alive" sensation that is DISNEY INFINITY! In the first two versions we saw statuettes of our favourite Disney characters come alive by placing them on a special platform. It sent them straight onto our screens and you can either play in a "Toybox" of sorts where you can quite literally build your own world/levels adding in pieces of scenery and baddies to interact with.

Another great thing about the Toybox is that you can share yours and even download your friends' ones!

The other mode, uses playsets which you can buy separately which come with a few extra characters. These are basically missions with TONS of mini games and other tasks which follow the story of which ever set you've purchased.

Now, on to the product at hand, THIS version 3.0 is centered around...drumroll please!... STAR WARS!!! WHOOP!! WHOOP!!! **SINGS** "OHHHHH WHAT A FEELIING, WHEN YOU'RE DANCING ON THE CEILING!!.."

Ahem! Yeah so, Star Wars Infinity 3.0, in the box as per the pic above, you'll find:

The Game
The portal/platform
World Game Piece
Two figures (Ahsoka Tano & Anakin Skywalker) from The Clone Wars TV series!

What I Thought

Firstly, the World Game Piece for "The Twilight Of The Republic" looks awesome! on the front it has the Jedi Emblem and on the back are crossed sabers! Anakin Skywalker and Darth Mauls to be exact. It looks like a kind of crystal and looks great when lit up on the platform.

The figures you get are masterfully cast, they use the style which is quite close to the Clone Wars TV series, so detailed and therefore look awesome on a shelf when they're not in play.. I have a good mind to collect ALL of these JUST because they are SO collectible! and at only RRP £12.99 each for a statue as detailed as this, it's really worth it!

The most AWESOME PR that provided me with this product also very kindly sent YODA too! Probably my most favourite character of ALL of the Star Wars films and franchise! Look at him! The detail is incredible and to play him in the game is amazing!! Just like in Episode 2 where we see him go up against Count Dooku, he jumps all over the place, you can do that in the game!

The game itself is just as good as the characters which are included! A full range of moves and specials, and the plus of being able to upgrade your character by completing the stages and collecting gems from fallen foes! There's so much to collect and so many little challenges to complete as well as following the main story tasks. When you think you've done a level, there's still the other challenges to complete before you move on. OR you can just move on :)

The worlds you explore are gorgeous, colourful and a little cartoony, they harken back to the Clone Wars. There are vehicles to ride on too which are also really good fun.

My son loves this game and already has said he wants more characters! Lives in the game are pretty much unlimited as when you die you have the option of putting a different character on the platform, obviously the more you have, the more lives you have, then once you've used them all, you just have to start the level again. I should also lastly add that the games themselves maybe dependant on the system, however the characters are versatile across all systems! So swapping and sharing with friends is completely possible!

The Verdict

This is an amazing game with so much potential playing time, aswell as collectability of the characters, and expanding the stories with the extra playsets is a great bonus. I love the Toybox too as it keeps my little man creative and lets his mind go nuts!

Well worth the RRP £39.95 price tag, and this will come down soon anyway. Seriously, get yourself  a set and as many of the characters as you can afford!

Available on Xbox 360Xbox ONEPS3PS4 and Nintendo Wii U ; versatility is something Disney are REALLY aiming for.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!.. ALWAYS!

NERF Blaster Review! N-Strike MEGA Cycloneshock!

What is it?

This is Cycloneshock; from the new NERF N-Strike MEGA Dart line with oversized darts!

What I thought

Aesthetically pleasing, I love the look of this blaster, it has the looks of a space western and the firepower of a small (toy) tank! hehe..

This shoots the oversized darts up to 23 meters with a satisfying "Pop"! I measured 21 meters but it was a bit blowy at the time.

This comes with 6 darts and has a barrel which holds all 6, as you then pull back the mechanism, the barrel turns to the next dart, therefore, all 6 darts can be fired over a matter of seconds! (about 3 in fact!!)

For me the size is great! for a 6 year old it looks a little big, but he's quite skinny and petite!

Myself and my son love the way the darts fly off whistling as they go, the aim is quite accurate too. THESE DO NOT HURT. Got my son on the bum several times and he was fine with it! Hehe.

The Verdict

Another great blaster from NERF and the bigger darts are genius, they hurt less, and are MUCH easier to find when fired into the woods! This has my vote!

Go get one from Amazon right now!! They RRP at £19.99.

Now, DAS WHEELY COOL!

What is it?

This is the Buzzy Bee Wheely Bug! It's a cute looking ride along for an infant of 3 years plus. It's extremely sturdy and difficult to turn over if your child leans. All four wheels go all directions so you're child can go wherever they like!

What my lil' miss thought

Initially my little girl was afraid of the bug, bless her, "Away!" she said and "nooooooo" when I tried putting her on it. A little play with it myself, i.e. pretending to sit on it and move around and she was happier with it and managed to get her on it.

Your little one will need to have some strength in their legs as the weight of the Bug and them on it is quite hefty for them to move themselves along. My little girl is only 20 months so this was a little difficult for her little legs, but a 3 year old would go nuts for this! With some grippy shoes on though my daughter was moving herself about. I was still a little worried she'd go over the handles at the front though!

She's now getting on it a lot more and happily wheels herself around, she's a little bouncy though and can't quite understand the difference between this and her bouncy cow! hehe!

I think the seat could be a little more comfortable as there's only a little padding, apart from that though, it's very well build and so very cute! My daughter also loves the beady antenna at the front.

The Verdict

A cute, well built design, made to last, with an age of 3 years this will keep my little girl sorted for a number of years. You could probably get away with stating from 2 plus years but watch them at all times, as the bars at the front are a little low for short arms.

The Wheely Bugs are available now from Hippychick.com and there 3 Type and 8 designs to choose from (the last 2 are covers which are £15!):

The Buzzy Bee Wheely Bug RRP's at £69.95, typically for 2-5 year olds, and there are smaller versions available for £59.95 which both sound highend but is worth the outlay as they will see your child through their nursery years!

Grab one now! At the moment Hippychick is supporting the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and a percentage of sales will be donated to them!

My Ultrasabers Lightsaber (VERY) Geeky Review!

The Geeky Bit..

Before I get started with this review, I just want to give you a little background information about me, my interests and when my obsession of Star Wars began.

Firstly my initial memory of Star Wars is actually watching the 3rd and (at the time) final part of the Saga: Star Wars Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi!! As a 7 year old I was captivated by the sci-fi effects and cute Ewoks! and WOW..that lightsaber.. you know the one.. The blonde kid all in black donned an amazing silver and orange hilt and once ignited it screamed and hissed to life with a rich green blade of light! I remember listening to that hum and wanting..no NEEDING to have one!

I was hooked.. in just a few months I went back and retraced Luke and Leia Skywalker, and Han Solo's adventures! We had a 'Video Van Man' which stopped down our road from time to time and I made sure we rented the other two Episodes (4 & 5) and I loved them just as much as ROTJ! I even made sure to rent the two new Ewok films, which albeit a little kiddy, were still Star Wars and still amazing!

I then collected the toys; figures and vehicles, even picked up a few of the lightsabers from Hasbro. None of them however had the power and finesse needed to get my goosebumps have goosebumps, like Luke's saber from Return of the Jedi.. UNTIL NOW!

All the way from the US... I give you..

THE ULTRASABERS AEON V3! (The Geeky Review!)

What is it?

Gorgeous is what it is! It's a lightsaber and this photo does it no justice! These hilts are built to perfection and are so bright when the light reflects off the hilt. The above is the stock photo from the Ultrasabers website, of which there are MANY styles of hilts to choose from.

There are a number of different options and accessories you can get including;
  • Different thickness of blades, with the view that you may "Spar" with them.

  • Different colour blades, including more than just the standard blue, green, red, and purple we are accustom to in the Star Wars Universe - if you get a white one you can pay a little extra for coloured discs and have the whole range!

  • If you decide to have sound included, because of the ingenious sound card you can connect to your PC and actually choose from a number of different effects and also add your own!

Some of the accessories include:
  • A belt clip
  • A blade plug (so when you remove the blade, the hilt looks amazing on it's own)
  • Coloured discs (My favorite is a yellowy orange blade, see below)
Do check the website for other great options, parts and accessories!

What I thought

Well, I could probably go on for about an hour about how much I love my Aeon V3. I've bought a few lightsaber "toys" in the past and after purchasing this, it kind of renders those "toys" (because that's all they really are) useless.. now I have the closest I'll ever get to having a REAL lightsaber..OK, so I'm still just a geeky fanboy, but this item is now my most treasured Star Wars collectable!

The design is so super sleek and as I said above it's been machined so smoothly and is incredibly comfy in the hand, one or two handed.

The sounds of the saber are amazing too, as I said above you have the ability to edit the sounds so they fit you or your Star Wars character, there is also a way of adding any type of sound on there, but I've only had this for a few days so not very savvy yet. The saber has the following sounds which can be edited:

  • Power up
  • Power down
  • Idle hum
  • Swing (this is the famous VVVVVVMMM! sound!)
  • Clash (for when you hit something or jolt the saber to simulate a hit)
  • Lock up (this is the sizzle sound they make when against another saber, I've edited mine to make sounds of a training remote!)

All of the above are awesome and fun to play about with, additionally you can adjust the volume which, when inside the house may be a good idea as the saber sounds are soo (fantastically) loud!

The Verdict

A fantastic choice of sabers, blades and accessories, for a pretty good price, it's only really the shipping costs which bump it up. Mine cost £149 including postage (Which only took 6 DAYS! INCLUDING a weekend!), which included:

The hilt
Silver led which coloured discs
A 'midgrade' blade
A blade plug

Seriously, if you can pay the cost it's worth every penny! Ultrasabers has great customer service and there's also a great forum with lots of people willing to lend a hand with choices or technical help!

Go NOW! And May the Force be with you!!

You can also check out the new Star Wars movie Trailer HERE! STARWARS - THE FORCE AWAKENS!!  IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!

An update!, Here's my son with my saber!

NEWS: ASDA's MEGA upto Half Price Sale! & The Air hogs Megabomb!

Click me!

Here's just a few of whats on offer and a review of the Air Hogs Megabomb I managed to get my hands on!

What is it?

It's an indoor Remote Control helicopter with the added ability of being able to drop bombs!

The helicopter is a great shape and looks quite stealthy. It comes with two bombs, one which opens upon contact with the floor and shoots 3 missiles! The other is a sticky missile which can be played with the also included target which comes apart when it's hit.

What we thought

My son thought this was so cool, he wanted to play with it straight away! It only took around 20 minutes to charge for around 30 minutes "play time". You may notice in the picture there's a lock over the "big red button" which just adds more character to the controls.

The bomb (which fires the missiles once it hits the floor) is quite flimsy and you really need to be careful when loading, otherwise it will pop open unexpectedly. The other bomb is my personal favourite and you can play with the target provided (in the above picture) or any other form of target, figures are good fun to bomb!

I would say you need to be a moderately experienced "Heliflyer" as you'll need to set the controls while in the air. When you first start you may find your copter will spin out of control..pretty annoying really and would be much better if it was stabilised somehow. It may have something to do with the different materials used to build it? not sure.. I'm no expert, but it is pretty difficult to fly, once you get the hang of it though, it's pretty fun and the one player 'drop the bomb on the target' is quite fun.

I would say the difficulties are only made easier when you know you got a good deal on this. Half price is really good for a helicopter of this design, but I can't see myself paying the full RRP of £40.

The Verdict

To be completely honest I'm not completely enamoured with this helicopter, Air Hogs have really done some great ones in the past, which I've reviewed. But this one just doesn't do the brand justice. I just think more time should go into the control of the r/c instead of what you can do with it.. that will all come later.

Currently £20 at ASDA, get there before they all go!

ASDA Up To Half Price TOYS - NERF RAPIDSTRIKE CS-18

From 14th October (Yes apologies, I'm a little late reporting this!) till the run up to Christmas, over 100 toys are going for up to half price! These are just a few!

What is this?

Specifically, I've got my grubby mitts on the above NERF Rapid Strike CS-18 Blaster in the ASDA Toy sale!

It's BIIG and nice and heavy! I like it when toys are heavy as it makes me feel like I've got my money's worth! It also comes with a massively long clip for 18 darts, and guess how many darts you get? THAT'S RIGHT! 18!

You may have guessed by now that my son gets to try all the toys and gadgets I review, he especially loves any toys which are projectile based and that he can fire at his Daddy! Now although this blaster was a little on the big side, he still managed to hold it up and squeeze off a few darts before he got tired, he's only 5 but he gave it a good try!

What the boy thought

As per the above, my son would have loved to play with this more, COME ON NERF! MAKE A JUNIOR SERIES!

A hefty but great working blaster, it has yet to misfire and clog. The sight is built in to the blaster which is a nice touch, and also quite accurate (Just fire a little higher than your target..)

I also admire that the clip is nice and long, although it fires so fast you could do with another clip! That's just me being triggerhappy though! hehe..

The Verdict

A great looking blaster which any teen would love to have!

From my point of view, I think the RRP of £40 would have been a little too much for this, however with ASDA helping out the £25 price tag was more than cheap enough!

This is available in store NOW!! Get it while stocks last!

Halloween Feature! NERF Zombie Strike Slingfire!

What is it?

It's a NERF blaster! Halloween Stylie!! Ok, not as much Halloween as it is ZOMBIFIED!

This blaster is styled from a sawn off shotgun and has the same ratchet and shoot technique. Remember Terminator 2 when Arnie is on his bike spinning the shotgun to load and then firing? With this, you could do a similar whip forward, which is pretty darn cool (PLEASE BE CAREFUL!).

This blaster comes with a 6 darts and 6 shot clip.

What we thought

My son loved the look of this, unfortunately it's a little young for him and as a parent I probably shouldn't promote zombie shooting with shotguns. I am also a little afraid he'll do some damage to either himself or the gun trying to load it by whipping it forward.

The grey ratchet mechanism is a little thin but very durable, I've cocked this quite a few times and although it bends it's not broken or warped. I am however a little concerned for the kids that they might whack themselves while trying to show off with the aforementioned Arnie move.. If however they use like a human would, they will have no problems and LOTS of fun!

For me, this blaster is great! For any roleplaying teen or kidult, they will love running around shooting their zombie/mates.

As above I really like the chunky shotgun design and there's some great detail too, like bandages to "hold the gun together"

The Verdict

As per a shotgun, this blaster gives quite a scattered shot, master the flip loading and you can fire pretty quickly. Range isn't too bad either, it boasts 75 feet,  I nearly got about that, I reckon about 70, with a tad elevation.

A really fun blaster! Sure to be a hit at Halloween with all the zombies which will be out!

The Zombie Strike Slingfire RRP's at £29.99 and is available for £24.99 on Amazon

Go Get the Zombies, before THEY GET YOU!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

ZOOMER DINO and ORIGINAL ZOOMER TOY REVIEW!

ZOOMER DINO
What is it?

Zoomer Dino is the fantastic combo of AI and remote control, with just enough personality to boot! It's a Tyrannosaurus Rex, which moves about the floor on his own and you can also take control too!

It's great how he walks about chatting to himself, dancing and even burping and farting! He reacts to waving in front of his nose and with a few gestures you can get him to sit, speak or whip his tail! Don't pull his tail though! He'll get angry and his eyes will turn red!

He has cameras and light sensitives which allows him to follow you about and interact with his surroundings. he also uses New "True Balance" technology which allows him to stand on two rolling wheels, this feature is extremely clever as if he falls over, you press a button and he gets himself back up again!

What my son and I thought

As soon as I opened the box I was surprised how small he was. The box makes the Dino look quite chunky. Still very impressive though and had my son giggling from start to finish! He takes an hour to charge for around 30 minutes of playtime, which is pretty good. He's also great just to leave on the floor and let him walk about, he has such a funny personality amazes us with a new trick everytime, he did the "boogie-woogie" the other night!

The Verdict

I reckon it must be every gadget boy's dream to have a pet dino and now they can! Fun to play with and also fun to just watch. Zoomer Dino RRP's at £99.99 but available now for £79.98 at Amazon!

ZOOMER

What is it?

Zoomer is a great little pup! Fully automated and does what he likes, you're unable to control him via remote control, but what you can do is train him, just like a real dog!

Also, like a real dog and sometimes rather annoyingly he'll ignore you and do his own thing. You really DO have to train Zoomer to do what you want. You also have to keep at it too as Zoomer will forget his tricks if he's not practicing them.

From "Sit", to "Lay", to "Go Pee Pee" (my son's favorite!) Zoomer does it all. He'll even follow you around and also has a guard function in which he barks at any movement. Zoomer also a few "Easter Eggs" and like Zoomer Dino he'll get angry if you pull his tail.

This feisty pup also has alot of character, and emotion, "it's all in the eyes" quite literally. Hearts when he's feeling love for his owner, and question marks while he's waiting for instructions.

What my son and I thought

My son and I love Zoomer, he's the dog we can actually look after, no cleaning up, no feeding, no need for "Walkies". My son loves instructing him and loves it even more when he's disobedient and just rolls over and plays dead; "Naughty Dog" my son always says..hehe.

Like Zoomer Dino he walks about on his own steam and is very fun to watch. Training's the most fun though BUT can be a little annoying if he doesn't understand you.

Oh yeah, it was also hilarious as soon as I got him out of the box and charged him, he made a b-line for my daughters boots and started humping them! How Rude!

The Verdict

A fantastic robo pet, which your kids are bound to get attached to. I think out of the two Zoomer is my favorite as there's a little more to do with him and some of the commands are so funny!

Zoomer RRP's at £79.99 or on Amazon for a tidy £79!

Nerf ECS-12 Blaster - Killer Video!!

What is it?

It's the new blaster from NERF but with a hi-tech difference! Now when you're pummeling your friends with darts you can record it!

This massive blaster comes equipped with 12 darts, a magazine and has motorised firing! No more will you need to do the tedious pump and shoot, pump and shoot. They're so fast and the range is realistically around 20-30 feet in a straight line. I did however hold the blaster at a slight angle and probably got around 75 foot! So some pretty decent range there!

The blaster design is brilliant and BIG...feels great to hold too!

The blaster, for the camera function, also comes with a 4GB KINGSTON SD card (YES KINGSTON.. DECENT!) This allows around 2000 photos (yep, photo's too!) or 100 minutes of video.

The camera is a pretty nifty addition.  I like the idea of seeing someone in my sights and watching them freak out..again.. and again! hehe..the screen is only just under 2 inches, but a it's great to use as a sight. On playback the sound is pretty good; it picks up voices well, unfortunately it also picks up the sound the blaster makes when the firing motor is working which is a bit of a shame.

What the boy (and me) thought

My son's only words were "wow!, das cool!", I carefully handed the blaster over to my 5 year old, and he was dwarfed by it bless him! Nevertheless, he held it up and the darts flew everywhere!! He absolutely loved it and I can totally see teenagers going nuts with these in their gardens, or parks.

Careful with going too crazy with firing as mine jammed a few times, no worries though, theres a sliding door on the side where you can clear the chamber.

The Verdict

A massively fun blaster and the video / camera just enhances the experience. It's great how teens can now get into social media, with this I can imagine alot of new youtube videos going up with kids showing off their skills!

I have a few problems though and unfortunately they centre around the camera..in low light the video and photos are pretty dark..on the screen there are some cool crosshairs and I thought those would show on the photos, I thought it quite funny to see your friends in crosshairs! BUT they unfortunately don't appear :( I've already said about the playback and the sound of the blaster motor but thinking about it now..to be honest it sounds a little like one of those crazy rotating chain guns! Which is actually pretty cool!

Camera aside, the blaster is brilliant, with amazing looks and works very well!

Any hardcore Nerf fan will love this blaster! it RRP's at £84.99, it's also available on Amazon! (currently for just over £80!)

LEGO FRIENDS! Jungle Falls Review!

What is it?

It's a small to medium sized set of a waterfall with a secret cave and crystal! It comes with LEGO Friend Olivia, a cute tiger cub and even cuter Chameleon!

What the boy thought

When I last wrote about the LEGO Friends range my son at first was pretty dubious about playing with a "Girls" toy. Which I can understand, for a little boy, he wants to be a little boy. I believe LEGO in the past among other things have been accused of being sexist, which is just ridiculous!

After a few minutes of moaning about this being a "girls toy" he forgot all about it and just got on and put the set together, pretty quickly for him too! He was a little stressed with the stickers (I was as a kid, so I always used to get my mum to sort them) so I stuck these for him as he built. With LEGO there's always the realization when you're on that last page that it's nearly finished, and my son had that same realization and exclaimed "I'm nearly finished!"

After my son was finished building the set he continued to play with it, moving characters about and stroking the animals, he even got some of his other sets involved. He loved it!

Just one con, the sliding mechanism of the 'secret cave' is a little stiff and it can keep coming apart if you're not careful enough, unfortunately 5 year old boys aren't that careful.. a good thing is though that there are spares! Enough for an extra bunch of flowers to make the place look nice and also another vine ladder to possibly adjoin playsets? So the LEGO Junior BATCAVE would go great next to this! ...well .. kinda!

The Verdict

LEGO has the amazing ability to grab a child's attention and get their imaginations running wild, who really cares if the toy is for a boy or girl?

It doesn't really matter. In the end, a toy is a toy. This one? Another great addition to the LEGO range!

This set RRP's at £17.99 suitable for ages 6-12, however my son is 5 and got on fine. It's available in any shop who is SMART enough to stock LEGO!

For more info on the copious amounts of LEGO Friends sets available, get onto their website!

Go get some! LEGO RULES!

The BOOMco Rapid Madness Blaster Has Arrived!!! and it's AWESOME!!! Review!

What is it?

It's a pretty hefty blaster, from BOOMco! These are the people which brought you the clever system of darts ONLY sticking to their special targets and gun based targets.

You may have seen my other review I did for the Twisted Spinner, in which I praised it to no end..well this is no different! It's big, it's bold and it totally kicks some serious butt!

The set comes with 30 darts and one clip. It's a pump activated firing system which packs a punch! There's also a target for practicing and if you're testing your aim!

Like most of the other BOOMco blasters, this one also has a pop up sheild at the front, just press the top button and it pops up.. pretty cool..

What the boy thought?

From the get go, you get the sense of how wicked nuts this gun is going to be as you load up the 'clip' with 20 (YES TWENTY!) darts!

"Right, pick up the gun mate..", "..er.. dude, pick up the gun.." OK.. so it's a little heavy for my 5 year old.. This is fine I said, it's really for kids aged 6+. This is what I'd been waiting for.. DADDY takes over! hehe..

So I take up the gun.. and now feel a little like Arnie...yes..sad but true. I say to my son "Right little man.. you need to start running.." and with a grin he burst out giggling as he ran..

I started to pump the gun (this is how the power is generated to fire the 20 darts *in seconds*).. wow..after a few pumps it was pretty tiring on the arms.. a brilliant idea but it was a little difficult even for me, let alone a 6 year old. Anyway, I pumped about 10 times and stopped (around 15 will probably be the max needed). As my son was running about I decided to find out how long it took to do the clip.. *in seconds* was right! I let loose a flurry of darts, missing my son every time as I was in awe at the sound and force they were being expelled! THIS IS AWESOME!

So the gun is pretty big, but some great detail and the sound it makes when firing is brilliant - "Rat-a-tata" (machine gun style!) You can also fire the darts individually by squeezing the trigger quickly on and off. Really clever stuff!

My son loved the blaster, just a little disappointed he couldn't play with it.. although, he could if I pumped the gun first for him.. well then it was like HE was Arnie.. I got battered! He was giggling so hard he nearly wet himself! ..no seriously, he nearly had an accident!..

The Verdict

A fantastic addition to the BOOMco blaster line, I CANNOT wait for more! Just a shame about the difficult pumping, but it's going to be for a 5 year old, I think the age should be something like 8+ though.

I love the clip loading, it should have come with another one maybe?.. I thought I'd have trouble with the darts and taking them OFF the targets as they get pretty well stuck on, it was fine though, a quick tug and they're off.

The Rapid Madness Blaster RRP's at £49.99 - A brilliant blaster! Go get one!!

PAC-MAN'S GONE SOFT! It can mean only one thing..PLUSHIES! Review!

(Apologies for the stock photo, my camera is out of action..)

What is it?

PAC-MAN! as a plush toy! He's so cute and cuddly!

To celebrate the release of the new Pac Man game - 'PAC-MAN AND THE GHOSTLY ADVENTURES 2', Bandai have brought out these great plushies!

He's nice and soft and squigy, and at 7" that's pretty big for your child!

What the boy thought?

I personally love his long nose! gives him so much more character than the original Pac!

I've let my son play the original Pac-man a few times on my phone and he LOVES it! he immediately made the connection when I showed him this, "PAC-MAN!! COOOOOL!!" so yeah, I think it's a hit!

I also think it's great how bandai have kept the big eyebrows and long nose from the original on the right. Long gone are Pac's days of being just a yellow circle with a wedge missing!

The Verdict

A great plush toy which is a great size and masses of character. Both me and my son can't WAIT to play the new game!!

RRP around £10! These are available on Amazon, check it out using my search bar on the right!

Blue Nose Friends at Clintons! Review!

What are they?

The cute new line of soft and cuddly teddies from Clinton Cards own "Blue Nose Friends" a spin off of the always popular "Tatty Teddy" range!

What we thought

The girls and the boys are the demographic of these little cuties, young and old of course. Who doesn't like to give their loved one a soft little bear at celebrations, be it Valentines, Birthdays, Christmas, and my favourite.. to say you're sorry!!?

Tatty Puppy - Pink and cute, ready to pounce and give you that much needed hug! Extremely soft and cuddly!

Soprano The Shetland Pony - This little guy is so cute! again, so soft and squidgy.. also a plus with girls who like to comb their soft toys hair!

Denzil The Komodo Dragon - Being a dragon, I'm sure this little guy will be a hit with the younger boys, and also with the girls, his tongue is all sparkly!

Pandora The Pearl - Another pink one to be a hit with the ladies, I gave this one to my wife as she also loves the Pandora Charms! The actual pearl bit of this toy is all sparkly and makes a rustling noise which is also a hit with my little girl (she's 1).

With all the different characters on offer, I'm sure you'll find one to suit your partner or reason for gifting. And if you don't find what you're after, how about a Tatty Teddy instead? There's plenty to go around!

Dreamworks Dragons Riders of Berk / How to Train Your Dragon 2 Toys Review!!

Dragons!! Everywhere!!

What is it!?

This is a review of the new range of Dragon toys from the soon to be popular How to Train your Dragon 2 movie and also a few from the Dreamworks Dragons Series "Riders of Berk"! Just in time for the new film which opens in cinema's nationwide TODAY! See the trailer here!!

Fizzing egg:

What we thought

The instructions could have been better. It advises to remove packaging, but doesn't tell you that there are two layers, I was waiting about 30 minutes before I realised the egg wasn't fizzing the outer layer away, there were holes in it so looked like it was doing the job.. in the end I took off the second blue layer pictured and it fizzed away in what seemed like seconds.. and I was elated to find a cute tiny Toothless model (mine and my sons favorite!)..

The Verdict

Very cute and nice detail, but just a little TOO tiny.. There are four of the dragons to collect and these RRP at £4.99.

Toothless - Night Fury (Action Dragon):

What we thought

This Toothless 'Figure' is brilliant, he can fire a blue fire projectile from this mouth by pressing his head and also (my fave bit) at a press of a button, his wings expand! "gasp! How does it do that!?!!" See below:

Toothless also fits the standard 3" figures on his back.

The Verdict

My son loves this smaller version of Toothless, it's not as heavy as the massive one, so he can run around the room ducking and diving and weaving around his copious amount of toys on the floor!

It really is a great representation from the film and the expanding wings is really fun.

There are also other dragons to collect in this range, 4 in fact and the below "Stormfly - Power Dragon" has flapping wings and a light up mouth! Really cool detail and also can sit a figure on his back.

Both of the above dragons RRP at £12.99 and are great to play with on their own or part of a set.

Large Flame Breathing Toothless

This is what I opened the box to! AWESOME!

This BIG version of Toothless is just brilliant, the detail is immense and the fire breathing feature is just amazing! I have no idea how it works, but the blue light really shows up the "smoke" (steam really, I know that much), not sure how good you can see it below..

His ears are the buttons, one side makes his mouth open with the blue light on and breathes, and the other ear opens his mouth, with the blue light and shoots a blue projectile!

I haven't let my son play with the projectile bit yet, but it easily flies six feet!

As per the back of the box below, you can (like the little one) expand the wings (no button though, manual only) to over 22 inches!!

I may have to invest in a few of the figures as this Toothless hold those on it's back too!

The Verdict

Again, a great toy, personally, my favorite of the range! Probably my sons' too as we haven't stopped filling it up with water for the fire breathing! It only needs a few drops of water and lasts for around 3 minutes of CONTINUAL (i.e. keep the button held down) use. That's quite a long time when you're only using it in short bursts.

This RRP's at £34.99 and is available at all good toy stores. Check Amazon I would, they always have good discounts! (try my search on the right!)

Cloud Jumper - Mini Dragons Assortment

These cute collectable dragons make good babies for your bigger dragons and are slightly posable (head and legs)

What we thought

My son liked to play with these and pretend the babies were captured, then Toothless comes along to save them!

The Verdict

Another good addition to the range, these are pretty cute, they RRP at £4.99 which I think may be a tiny bit overpriced, available on Amazon they're actually a pretty good price there.

All of the above are available in the stores right now!! More info available at Spinmaster Toys!
