Start in a corner ch space. Ch 3 (counts as first tr), 2 tr in ch space. ch 3,
3 tr in same ch space. (corner complete). ch 1, 3 tr in next corner ch
space. Repeat until all 4 corners have 2 clusters, 3 tr with chain 3. Fasten
off.
Round
3-4: Use next colour. Start in any ch space you want. From now on,
the pattern is basically the same as in round 2. Start in any chain space, and
ch 3 as your first TR, then 2 TR’s more in the same chain space. If you started
in a corner: ch 3 between granny clusters, or if you started in a ch space in
between corners: ch 1. The size of your granny square will increase by one
cluster on each side, each round.
And that is your
basic granny square! Repeat the instructions for row 3-4 until your granny
square becomes a granny blanket. Or continue until you have the size you like
then repeat and join your squares with sc or wool needle.
