a little scrappy goodness...

It's been way too long since i've posted anything i've scrapped.  I do have a few excuses though:
  1. I went back to school.  I've had my head in the books a LOT lately.  Although, I finished up my term early and decided not to add any more classes to my term so I'm left with a little bit of free time on my hands right now until the new term starts back up.
  2. My scanner hates me.  Actually, I think my laptop does too.  Apparently, i only have enough memory on my computer to work the very bare minimums and unfortunately, my scanner isn't one of them.  It will only scan once before it gets "lost".  My only choice is to uninstall and then re-install again.  So far, I've decided it's not worth the effort but it makes me OH SO MAD!!!
  3. The scanner hooked up the desktop is having the same issues, but i really don't know what that problem is, and frankly, i'm too frustrated to figure it out for now.
  4. A three year old named Sam.  Do I need say more?
However, before my scanner got "lost" when I re-installed it the last time, I did manage to scan in one whole layout!  Sadly, it's the only layout I've done in months and months... well, besides the December Daily I've been working on (and is ALMOST done!).  I'm quite proud of it though, and I really wanted to share it, so here it is!

recent stuff

Here are some of the recent layouts that i've done since the begining of January. I haven't done nearly as many as i want to, and none this month. I've totally slacked off and really need to jump back into it again. My room is getting very lonely.

Birthday Girl
From Rianne's 7th birthday in December. I didn't want to drag it out to several pages so i kept the pictures small and put as many as i could on one page. I absolutely LOVE the sparkly letters (thanks Heather! they are awesome!)

Seeing Santa
a bunch of pictures of the kids seeing Santa while at my family Christmas party. I loved that Santa was so REAL looking this year. Real beard and everything. He was great! Even Daylon got into it this year, which was expecially exciting.

Fall
a few pictures of the kids and cousins in our backyard playing in the falling leaves. Some more of those great alphabets from Heather. And i ended up LOVING this paper. I wasn't too fond of it when i got it but after a year or two, it's grown on me.

Cookies for Santa
This one gave me troubles. I love how it turned out though. I really love the bright colors and it fits Rianne quite well. It felt really good to use up a bit of my stash.
Winter Wonderland
I just HAD to scrap pictures of the first big snowstorm this winter. This is what our mountains/roads looked that morning. I love these gem swirl stickers... i think i really want to get more of them. Used up some more OLD stash
Play Ball
Daylon's first year at playing basketball. I LOVE how this turned out. The pictures are a bit to be desired but man the lighting in a gym is bad! Absolutely love the word stickers... i think they may be my new obsecession.

BOO! to you

OK - so we REALLY got boo'd a couple of weeks ago. But i knew this would be the only way i would be able to trick the kids into knowing it wasn't me (but, i was still their first guess *sigh*). I love doing things for the kids and surprising them. Usually it's just Valentine's Day but this year i wanted to do it more often.

Thanks to Lori who showed me this link to on how to make these (she got it from here). I simplified it down so that my CraftRobo did all the work. All i had to do was glue it all together. Simple as can be, and they turned out super cute!

*If anyone wants the GSD file for these, just let me know and i'll email them to you (it's just the box and hair template).

The kids were surprised. They were sitting on the porch when they all came home from Daylon's basketball practice. It took a bit of convincing them that it reallly wasn't me. Apparently i'm the only one around there that even knows how to be crafty, according to them. By the time i was done, i even had DarRell convinced. Then i had to turn around and tell him it really was me. The little bags hold just enough goodies to be fun but not overwhelming. I had a couple of pencils, an eraser, a couple of spider rings, a lightstick, a halloween straw and then just a few peices of candy in them.

little bit of scrappiness

Just a few layouts i've been working on the last few day.

I stole these pictures of Rianne and Justin off Maria's blog (I hope you don't mind Maria). I think i remember her taking them on the deer hunt a few years back.

I love how these two are always together. These two are never apart when Justin and Maria are down to visit.

I did this layout for the Scrapping the Music challenge for this week. Fun song and i knew what pictures i wanted to use when i read the words to the song.

I love how it turned out. I was channeling my inner Elsie LOL. It makes it easier when you are using her papers and embellishments.
