Fathers Day Is Just Around The Corner....

Hi guys,

Hasn't this year flown? Fathers day is in just a few weeks and if your anything like me your thinking eeek only 2 more weeks to get something for the hardest person to purchase for! Well I decided on my weekend away last weekend to get at least a start on a card for my dad. My dad is very simple, doesn't like anything over the top and likes fairly muted colours. Ie. His favourite colour is grey! Haha!

On the weekend away we were given the following colours to play with Kraft aka Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey and Soft Suede. I would never put these colours together normally but thanks to the keen eye of Stampin' Up we have Designer Series Paper in the new catalogue in these colours and they are gorgeous. These cards are perfect muted colours for my dad so I made a card for my dad a father's day card using these colours and a stamp set I don't own but have eyed off since it appeared in our current catalogue. Here's the Clean and simple card I came up with...

Can you guess which stamp set it is?? Surely it can't be Teeny Tiny Sentiments haha! I seem to be using that set on every card I make recently, maybe I need to challenge myself NOT to use it! It is Circle Circus. This set is great and so versatile and is fab for whipping up masculine cards! So can you guess what set I'm getting my hands on soon? Haha!

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Circle Circus
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Kraft/Crumb Cake, Basic Grey, Very Vanilla
Ink: Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, Soft Suede
Accessories: Mat Pack, SAMJ, 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/2", 1 3/8" Circle Punches

Thanks for looking,

Wheelin' Good Father's Day

Well as noted yesterday this month I'm spotlighting the use of Stampin' Around Wheels! I made a card the other day for my grandfather in QLD for father's day. It is already a challenge enough to make a card for a man let alone a card using my spotlight product. This card I am so pleased with and must give a mention to the beautiful Carol Dunstan who i took some inspiration from making this card. No particular card of hers just her projects in general! Thanks Carol!
I used the embossing resist technique which was done by embossing the happy father's day stamp from occasional greetings set in white and then sponged over the top in Blue Bayou and Certainly Celery. I then rolled the leaf print wheel in certainly celery onto certainly celery Cardstock. It gives a subtle but great look to the card.
Here's a close up...
TFL! Happy father's day to all the wonderful father's out there!
Happy Stampin'

Happy Father's Day

As you may be aware Father's Day is coming up very soon so I have been working on a few things. I made the following card on the Team Weekend Away at the start of August orginally for a fellow Inkling, Ryn to give to Miracle Babies Premmie Dad's and Loss Dad's, charities that help support fathers who have lost a baby due to it being Premmie . I absolutly loved the simplicity and beautiful colours of this card that I made a second one to keep for myself.

Stamp Sets: Lovely as a tree, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Old Olive
Card Stock: Old Olive, Sahara Sand, Fall Flowers DSP
Accessories: Twine (Thanks Carol), Old Olive Marker (Again Thanks Carol), Old Olive Wide Grosgain Ribbon, Dimensionals

I don't own this set but I keep getting more and more convinced that I must invest in it. It's a great set more masculine cards. It's funny since becoming a demonstrator my taste has changed dramatically. There's no way I thought I would ever want a set like Lovely as a tree and at the moment it is way up there on what I have dubbed my "I will buy" list as aposed to my "wish list." Lol! Have you ever seen a set and never thought you liked or would ever use and suddenly changed your mind. If so I want to hear about it. Please leave a comment outlining what set and why you like it so much now and even post a link to a blog or album where you have used that set. I will pick one at random next Wednesday 3rd September and that person will recieve something from me!
Have a great day!
Dani
