Thinking about dating

Here's the just of how it went:
Channing: "Haleigh, I hear you have a boyfriend."

Haleigh: "Yah, well, kinda" (didn't really hear her)

Channing: "Well when your 16 you can date him."

Michael (who apparently was ease dropping):
"YAH, And when I'm 16 I can date Riley Randall!"

And she'd be lucky to have him ask!

FHE with the Sevys!

We've been trying ALL month to have our FHE with the Sevy's and go iceskating before the igloo closes on April 1st. We FINALLY did it! I mostly wanted to go on Monday because if you mentioned their facebook page you could get 1/2 off on Monday's in March AND they let me combine it with my Dixie Direct buy 1 get 1! Can't beat a double coupon!! :) Anyway... it was totally fun. Channing came home Saturday from NYC! So she came. Britan and Shaye were naturals on their hockey skates (I think Briran secretly wants to be in the ice capades!) Michael, Haleigh, and McKenna had races pushing their buckets! It really helped them.

A cake for Bessie

I made this cake for Bessie Sorenson's funeral today. I wanted to be a little creative yesterday and figured that chocolate cake would make a good dessert for the family.

1st Gold Cup

Michael and Haleigh performed in their first gold cup recital tonight where they received their first gold cup. They have competed in the Southern Utah Strings festival for the past 3 years in Cedar City and have accumulated enough points to earn a gold cup (15points=gold cup) Haleigh earned one for solos and one for duets and Michael one for duets. He'll get his solo cup next year.
Blogger doesn't like to post my videos but I got it on video and you can always have them play for you live!

Soccer!

Haleigh's soccer team won tonight 6-2! It was awesome! Everyone was happy and we got some great pictures.
Here's my creation for Haleigh's soccer team. And it's gonna cost $1.49... the "professional" photographer charges a minimum of $20.00 for this same thing with no personalization and no team names. WELL, I'm a PROFESSIONAL MOM! So I'm saving $18.51 and I'm putting everyone's name on so they can look back and remember what grade they were in and who was on their team! You should never pay someone to do something you can do BETTER & cheaper! (Especially if you enjoy doing it and your husband is working out in the garage and your kids are all in bed and you could be folding laundry.)

1st practice casulty

Tonight was Michael's first baseball practice! He did this lovely number on his knee when he tripped over himself running to 1st base. That's Daniel's story, Michael says he got shoved. I don't know who to believe! :) He's tuff though, that's for sure. Didn't need or want mom's help at all with it. I'm more of a surgeon when it comes to stuff like that though, so I don't blame him. :) Daniel is excited, he says they have a pretty good team with some good arms. We'll see how they hit at Friday's practice. Go A's!

Manic Monday of Service

I started off giving blood at 2:30pm - since the rest of the gals in my family can't seem to stay conscience enough to do it - someone's got to! :) Luckily Mya fell asleep just before I had to go and Michael got home and could do his homework while he babysat. Lisa went with me (that's a total of 6 lives saved between us both). Then I had her run me over to the school so I could meet my activity day girls...
And we walked over to Ruben's house who we made a CUTE welcome home banner for when he returned home Saturday to his family from his last mission to the desert to welcome him home ourselves and ask him a few questions about his mission. Then we walked over to Colleen's and...had a sewing lesson. We made little bags out of washclothes that the young women will need at girls camp this summer. All the girls did really good at sewing on the machines! Only a few had lead feet! It was a good driving lesson too! :)

Meghan's Cake

I just got back from delivering Meghan's cake. She brought me the "inspiration" picture but wanted real flowers and a red ribbon. So this is what I came up with. I think they liked it. :)

New Slogan

You would think that most people by the 3rd child would not be taking as many pictures, not the case with me and Mya. I suppose that will be a good thing.

Rub-a-dub-dub Mya's in the tub

Took these pictures after the blue carpet incident. She was having a ton of fun splashing and playing with the bubbles. Water is SO much easier to clean up after than blue marker!
Have I ever mentioned how much I love digital scrapbooking?

Gozer the Gozarian... The DISTRUCTOR has come!

Colleen called me to discuss soccer treats for Haleigh and McKenna's soccer team, so I just stepped out of the room for a minute to go check the calender... and this is what I came back to. All I could do was GASP! What can ya do? I grabbed the blue Expo dry erase marker out of her hand and grabbed my camera. Note to all: too bad dry erase doesn't just wipe off carpet with a dry towel, or with a damp towel, or with carpet cleaner, or with the stuff Daniel bought from the door to door sales people, or with the enzyme stuff from Colleen. A mixture of ALL of that does however make it not noticeable to the casual visitor at the front door... and she's not even 2 til NEXT month! :)
