No school for Martin Luther King day. So we overhauled Michael's room... it needed it... and is MUCH better. Then we headed up to Woods Ranch to go sledding with aunt Ju. We got to see the inside of Dad's snow caves too! Pretty "cool"!

Fun in the SNOW!
So this coming weekend is the Klondike campout for Daniel and his scouts. And on Saturday they were practicing the whole "Be Prepared" part of scouts and went up and pre-dug their snow caves so they'll be all ready for them when they get there. So on Sunday one of the other scout masters comes up to Daniel and asks is advice about the Klondike and informs Daniel that they will be going up sometime in the week to dig theirs. Daniel's ears stood up and his territorial intuition set in and he decided we needed to take a drive that very afternoon! It was fun. We went up to Woods Ranch and "flagged" their caves with do not disturb markers. The kids got to explore all the other caves that were open from previous Klondikers, there was even an igloo! It was a fun hour in the snow and a great place to go back to some day to just play in the snow!

Dixie Igloo!
Their slogan is "It finally froze over!" haha. St. George has a new ice skating rink downtown. The kids couldn't wait to learn to ice skate so Julie and I took them this afternoon. They did really good and can't wait to go again. There needs to be some improvements made before I'll go again... but it was really fun! Not to mention we're ALL pretty tierd and sore! :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I just wanted to say that sometimes people wonder where they will be in 5 years or so (not really me, but some people) I'm more of a remember where I was 5 years ago type. Can't really remember what we did 5 years ago, but I do know that 10 years ago we celebrated in Worland at the Stake party at the church. Michael was Mya's age now and he danced all night long, playing with balloons, and with Liz Anthony's little girl Emry. I know the church party doesn't sound too exciting but considering it was Y2K... it was the safest place to be! :) Actually it was Worland... so it was the only place to be!
It's our family's New Years Day tradition to go bowling! This new year starting a new decade is no different. Although in years past up til now we have always gone to Mesquite to bowl followed by a buffet, this year we just went out on Sunset Blvd. here in town. It was even better because we didn't have to travel and we didn't smell like smoke from the casino AND the bumpers are automatic and you can have them on or off for each player instead of having them on the whole time! :)
Last night we had Jimmy, Jen, Taylor, & Carter and Julie & Cody over for a BBQ and dutch oven potatos and cobbler (I'll start my diet as soon as the left overs are gone) Ju & Cod went downtown to First Night and then the kids went to Jen's for a sleep over and so Daniel and I cleaned up the kitchen and watched a movie and went to bed about 12:45. Mya was out about 10:30. I heard the fireworks from downtown, but our movie was really funny so I guess we missed the BIG celebration! :) We made our own fireworks later! ;) HA!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010 EVERYONE!
