Dance invite...

Sisters

Mya is pretty silly and when you add that to as silly as Haleigh is... watch out! Here Mya wanted a ride in her baby dolls stroller. She thought she was pretty ingenious.

Michael's Arrow of Light

Tonight Michael and 4 of his fellow webelos scouts received their Arrow of Light awards. 2 of the boys had received them earlier in the year, but I had 7 this year and all 7 got them. Michael and the 2 that received them earlier all earned all 21 activity badges too. Way to go guys. Have fun in scouts! Here they are Alex, Channing, Karsen filling in for Tyler, Michael, Kyler, Brennan, and Austin
Here's Brennan pinning his pin on his mom. Check out his award, pretty sweet huh?
And here's Michael pinning on my pin. How do you like my Indian headband?

Cannon Ball Competition!

The kids got a good start on their tans today at the City Pool and Hydrotube! And enjoyed a cannonball contest with their friends Autumn and Austin! Autumn is the clear WINNER!

Emerald Bay Catalina - BSA

Daniel just spent all week at Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island with 9 scouts for scout camp. They had the time of their lives! I can't wait for Michael to get to go. They got to play on the beach and in the water all week and get some merit badges that they wouldn't have been able to get at their local camp. Snorkeling, sailing, canoeing, and scuba diving were all some of the fun they had.
The kids and I survived the week and tried to fit in some fun so we wouldn't miss Dad so much. We went swimming and to the PTA movie and to the lake and our trip to the farm in Mesquite. I'm looking forward to when I get to leave for even an hour by myself! :)
The kids and I are looking forward to a trip North to see the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple and on to Wyoming for the 4th of July and a week of playing with cousins!

Friends on the farm

Today we went with our friends down to Mesquite and to their farm across the river in Bunkerville. While Michael and Austin mowed lawn all us girls went and checked out the rest of the place. The highlight was the chickens. (I'll try to post the video later so you can see why) It was a ton of fun and we can't wait to go back and play "rodeo" in the fall when it's not so HOT!

Don't think Mya really enjoyed the chickens, but she still waved bye bye to them.
Haleigh and Autumn could have stayed ALL day!Mya DID love riding the "puppy" though!

So here's this totally plain picutre of me with no make up or anything on the top! THEN on the bottom I've added a few pse "actions"... for what I REALLY look like! And that's why all those people in magazine's look so fabulous! Below I've played with the color a little too.

Colleen's birthday cake

This is the birthday cake I saw in a magazine and just new it would be PERFECT for my neighbor's birthday. How else would you wish an awesome gardener well on "growing" another year older? Happy Birthday Colleen!
It's a chocolate cupcake cake with oreo soil and all the little vegetables are made of starbursts.

Michael's got his groove on!

She'll probably kill me for this picture, but I caught her "teaching"!
My friend Amy used to dance at BYU with her husband... I think that's how they met. They have taught dances to the youth in our area and stuff. Anyway, her daughter, Riley, is Michael's age and wanted her mom to teach her and some friends a dance. So here's Michael and Riley (and Sadie/Kyler, Sarah/Carson, & Alison/Boston) practicing their swing dance...

They actually started a couple weeks ago and "Hayden" was Riley's dance partner... and apparently her boyfriend too. But they broke up... so Michael got to step in. And he has learned this much of this dance in 2 days!! He is SO AWESOME! The situation between Riley and Hayden also opened up a conversation about how being someones boyfriend before you are 16 only ruins your friendship. So I told him that if a girl asks him to be her boyfriend he is to say, "no, because I like you and always want to be your friend and if we broke up we wouldn't be friends." You think that'll work? IT'S WORTH A TRY! Our neighbor boy, Britan has his first girlfriend and he's going to be a senior, so I told Michael when he's Britan's age he can consider having a girlfriend, he said, "O.K." and I'll try and hold him to it! In the meantime he is really enjoying learning to dance.

Peek A Boo Mya!

Here is a little bit of Mya's personality!

Michael's Ear

We started off this morning with Michael's 11 year old check up. He was scheduled on his immunization card for a booster shot... so he was all prepped for it. Then he found out our Dr. prefers to give it at 12! So he LUCKED out for a whole year! But then the Dr. checked his ears and spent a little extra time checking his right ear. EVERY time I have taken Michael to the Dr. for ANYTHING... it turns out he has a "flaming ear infection", although his ear has never bothered him. But today the Dr. could still see his ear drum behind the redness. There was something in front of his ear drum! So he made us an appointment this afternoon with the ear specialist and we went. After spending FOREVER waiting for the Dr. to come in, he checked it out and took some of the wax off of it... and then 'rolled' it out! It was a red bead!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHA! It was so releavingly hilarious! Michael says he thinks he remembers probably sticking it in his ear in 2nd grade. So it's been in there for 4 years and we've been treating it for infection every time we've been to the Dr. for those 4 years. Who goes back to the Dr. 10 days later to see if it's gotten better? Michael also thinks he can hear better now! I SHOULD SAY SO!
