New Piano

Every school year, Yamaha gives all our schools free pianos and then at the end of the school year they are sold to the public at the discounted price they would have sold them to the school. We have always wanted a piano, so we went and checked them out. A regular piano is nice, if you know how to play. But Daniel and I don't so we decided to get a digital piano which can be played just like a normal piano... BUT IS SO MUCH MORE! You can "follow the lights" and learn to play, you can download music into it... including the kids violin music and then slow the tempo so they can play along with the accompaniment while they learn, it'll even to VOICE CHANGING karoke! Which is WONDERFUL for those of us who can't carry a tune. It's been tons of fun already and we don't really even know how to use it.

City Center Water Fun

After Michael's baseball game tonight we ran over to pack meeting for cub scouts at the city center next to the Tabernacle and the community arts building where they have a big side walk fountain and this fun water feature like a stream that the kids can play in. I snapped this cute picture of Mya while I was snapping a few for our pack blog which you can check out at PACK489.blogspot.com.
Michael's game tonight was the first in their playoff games. They won against the A's! It was a nail biter! So now they are "in the final 4" and they play again Friday at 7:30pm. We'll post again if they win... or lose. GO ANGELS!

Baseball game

Here's some extra pictures of Mya while at the baseball game for Michael's birthday. They are pretty candid! The fire works were long and loud, but she seemed some what unimpressed. :)

Michael is 11!!!

I can't believe it! 11 years ago today Michael was born!!! It has been a fun 11 years. He is such a good boy. We are SO proud of him.
We spent the morning relaxing and then I took him down to the scout shop to get his new BOY SCOUT uniform! Then we took his friends Austin and Shaye to the movie "Night at the Museum 2". Which was GREAT! Then home for pizza and presents and then Daniel ran with all the boys to opening night of our minor league St. George RoadRunners baseball game. I joined them about 2 hours later when Mya was ready to go, it was AWESOME! And they even had a fireworks show afterwards... Michael said it was "the BEST birthday EVER!" (that's always a good thing to hear as a parent!)

Long live the King and Queen!

Happy Anniversary to US! Time flys when you're having fun! I love that even though we have some very different interests we have found some things that we BOTH LOVE to do together. One of our FAVORITE things is to go hike slot canyons here in Southern Utah! We hooked up with Daniel's co-scouter Jeff and his kids +1 and headed to KEYHOLE for our anniversary hike (also Jeff's birthday). It's really early in the season so we were a little nervous about water depths and temperatures. Jeff and Sophie had wetsuits and luckily the water in the 2nd 1/2 was the lowest we've ever seen it! Still there were 2 places that were deep and Jeff was AWESOME enough to give shoulder rides across!! The long swim at the end was FREEZING! My legs were hot pink and my feet were absolutley FROZEN! It was a ton of fun. I was really glad Sophie came, she's only 10 and she never complained or whined even when she was a little spooked! I can't say that about all the kids who have gone on hikes with us!! But I want her to come again when we take Michael out for his first time... hopefully by the end of the summer!! Daniel at the opening of the second section where we put our gear on and make the first rapellI take credit for this move that gets you across the first pot hole without getting wet, which although inevitable, is always the name of the game. (above) Jeff smiling that Sophie is the easiest person he gave a ride to all day!

Just what I wanted!

I asked for Michael to hit the ball and win the game tonight for my birthday and the WHOLE TEAM pulled through! It was the best game of the season for sure. Michael not only hit the ball but he had an AWESOME play while playing first base! Thanks EVERYONE for making my sweet 16X2 a good one.

Chef Michael

All our Sevy Sister neighbors are home this week so we've been invited over to listen to the band (Wooden Tantrum) tonight and decided we'd better make some cookies to take. Michael was excited to make some with me... while Haleigh on the other hand is on a quest to look like a boy! Must be FREAKY FRIDAY around here!
Michael has said some pretty funny things this afternoon. We were talking about weight with our other neighbor kids, Autumn and Austin, asking how much they all weighed and we got to Michael he sang out, "101 pounds of fun"! (name that tune!) Then when we were dipping out cookies in sugar he said we were "sprinkling them with love"! And then he was telling me all about how it's not good to experiment with food when you have paying customers as a chef, and how he thinks he'd like to be a chef in France where they have REALLY BIG KITCHENS! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

These are the cards Michael and Haleigh made me. I LOVE them!

Note that I am very mature and I am also the smartest person on earth, sorry to the rest of you! I also appreciate the title of "Best Laser Tag Player"!

Haleigh is in the 2nd grade and dance was not one of her spelling words this year... but that's what she is thanking me for, driving her to dance... not some guy named Dan! :)

Swimming!

We went swimming today at the WCCC. Mya started off not really wanting anything to do with it until aunt Jen took her around the lazy river a few times. After awhile she got a little cold, so she suntanned with Dad until she got dried off enough and put her shirt back on. Then she headed out to the splash pad to check it out. We didn't see much of Haleigh and Michael... they just swim swim swim from the moment they get there. They can't wait to take thier cousin's when they come visit at the end of the summer.

Siva Pacifica Grand Luau

First of all... let me say how much I LOVE photo editing. It allows me to take this cute picture of Haleigh and her BFF McKenna tonight at their luau and turn it into...
This FABULOUS picture of them at the beach! I'm not even very good at it. But Ta-Da!

And here is Haleigh and Mya too, this one isn't as realistic... but it's cute.

Now for your viewing pleasure... here is Haleigh performing her dances...

Hide and Seek with Mya!

Today while I was doing laundry, I brought some of Mya's clean clothes out to the living room in this big blue hamper and laid it on the floor while I went back to the laundry room to switch and start another load. (story of my life!) when I came back... Mya was gone! Well looky where I found her!

Michael gets a hit!

Our little Angels team is @ 500 now. (that's fancy baseball lingo for they've won 1/2 their games) Here's Michael's hit of the night. Sorry about #6 goofing off, I don't even know what he was doing out there. If you listen you can hear Daniel "coaching" from the bleachers to "SWING MICHAEL!" He's very coachable. :)

B-day wish list

A few months ago one of my sisters friends gave them a birthday wish list, it wasn't full of anything over the top, just simple things she really needed or wanted. It made it very nice for them to be able to get her something she wanted. Then Jen posted hers on her blog, full of all the emergency prepardness stuff she wanted. Again... very useful for the rest of us to know what she wanted. When asked on the spot I never know what to say (most likely because I really don't NEED anything - I am blessed) But here's my WISH list anyway (I realize it's sort of elaborate, but that's why it's a "wish" list, duh)...
A laptop. Preferrably from Dell (pink or orange). This way I can take the kids all over town this summer and still get some work done. There are several places in St. George with free wi-fi where the kids can play in the fountains or at the park.

Teeth whitening. I'm not really a glamour girl... to say the least, but I'm a little tierd of seeing myself in pictures with my sisters with their perfect smiles and their beautiful hair. Since I'm realistic and know that even if I get my hair done it will be in a braid or a pony tail within an hour... I think improving my smile will be the best bet.
Two roundtrip airline tickets from Las Vegas to Oahu in October or November for Daniel and I.

Yoga Toes Sandals. My feet are my favorite feature. I love yoga and clearing my mind every morning. It provides balance. New princess cut diamond earrings. I've had a small set that Daniel bought me when we were first married, but I've lost one (Mya helped me lose it). They are my favorite thing to wear all the time.

And last but not least... a few more hours in the day!!! Preferrably one just for me... maybe I'll do my hair. :)

Now seriously- what I really want is for Michael to hit a home run and win their last baseball game of the season that night. And some Mexican food!!
