Vegas with Dad

This past weekend was really a treat. Dad (Grandpa Frahm) was in Vegas for a business convention (for pension administrators) and so just me and Jen and Jules went down and hung out with him at Planet Hollywood. We layed out at the pool all morning (I resemble a lobster), I lost $11, shopped, watched the Bellagio fountains, laughed at a few comedians at the Riviera comedy club, ate at PF Changs (mmmm... lettuce wraps) and at Lawry's "The Prime Rib" (TO DIE FOR! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, Daniel and I will be there for our anniversary next month!) It was so much fun to just have a little R&R with Dad and the girls. Thanks to Daniel for playing Mr. Mom and not only taking everyone to church (I'm sure they were on time without me there to make us all late) but cleaning up the house a little too.

I've posted PF Chang's lettuce wraps and Lawry's salad recipe on our Family Cupboard blog.

Whistling Baby

Grandma and Grandma Frahm took a cruise through the Panama Canal 2 years ago and brought these "flutes" home for Michael and Haleigh. I think Mya's going to be pretty good! She also plays the handle of my hair brush. I'll see if I can capture a video of that too.

Easter

Easter Saturday (as we call it around here) was kinda chilly for St. George. But we ventured out with Aunt Julie to the Art Festival to watch Wooden Tantrum and check out some artists work. Jen and I had gone down Friday when the weather was much nicer and checked it out so I just mostly pointed out the highlights to Ju. Got our kettle corn and came home to get ready for the Sevy's annual Easter picnic. We ate inside so it wasn't really a "picnic" this year, but the food was all delicious and we are VERY GRATEFUL that they invite us to join their family tradition. They are the best neighbors EVER! We fill our own eggs and send the kids out to have an egg hunt. Mya did really good now that she's toddling, she knew exactly where to put her eggs and held her own basket! (I think she got 4 eggs!) The Easter bunny came to our house on Sunday and filled the kids baskets with goodies.

Egg decorating

Jen and Ju always come out and decorate eggs with us! We had fun again this year, although it was a little more exciting than usual with Mya! She thought it was pretty neat!

Mya's BIG accomplishment!

It's only a few days after turning 1 and here she is! Watch her go...

BHE Science Fair 2009

Michael needed to do a science experiment to get his scientist pin in scouts, and since he didn't do the science fair last year (it was the same week Mya was born) he saved his experiment for this year... and he won "Teacher's choice"! Good job Michael. His experiement was to find which of his favorite restaurants had the best drinking water. He found out he's better off filling a water bottle at home with our excellently filtered water and taking it with him. 1st place in 5th grade was a kid who polled people of all ages about their fears and found out that younger people have a fear of the dark and ghosts and older people have fears about money and their future (not the most 'scientific' experiment, but interesting). The winner of the entire science fair was a girl who wanted to know which was dirtier, dog's mouths or cat's mouths... both were pretty gross, but I also believe that not all bacteria is bad. Not to critisize because it was really well done, I think she should have done her own mouth too. GOOD JOB MICHAEL!

more cute 1 year old

Just wanted to thank everyone for thinking of Mya on her birthday. The weather was georgous. It was a fun day with a picnic in the park. Here she is in her new dress from her 2nd cousin Kaela who lives in Hawaii. It's perfect timing too because Haleigh's polynesian dance group is having a Luau at the end of the month!

NEW SPRING PICTURES!

Kristin Leithead-Mayes, one of Daniel's neighbor's growing up (the equivalent of Haleigh and Shaye) lives here and is an up and coming photographer! I asked her to do some of the kids for spring a few weeks ago... and then everyone came down with the infamous "spring break" bronchitis. So we finally met up with her and here's a sampling of what she can do... I think they are AMAZING. I love them. Thanks Kristin!

Last day as baby

We had Mya's party a few days early because our week is so slammed with baseball, gymnastics, dance, scouts, roundtable, science fair, etc. etc. So this is a sneak peek of how excited she is to be 1!!! I can't believe it!

I love them

I needed a creative moment to myself this evening and what better way to spend a few minutes, or the better part of an hour, than by dscrapbooking? So I made this page with this cute picture of my girls from last month when we went to Pirate Island Pizza with the kids while Grandpa was here. Just want to let them know I love them. They help a TON with the kids and even clean up after me sometimes. I'm so glad they followed us to St. George... just wish Grandma and Grandpa would be as ADVENTUROUS!

(This picture is SURE to get them married off!)
