December keeps us busy

The kids are involved in a few things that keep us very busy in December. We started the month out with Haleigh's school choir concert and that very same night only moments later over to the church for our ward party where her polynesian dance group was performing for our "Christmas around the world" themed dinner. They had danced and both she and Michael had played their violins at the Jubilee of Trees the weekend before Thanksgiving. Choir concert at Barnes and Noble in full make-up so we can run out the door to Poly-dancing at the Dicken's festival
Violin at the Dicken's festival too. This is also where "The REAL Santa" comes and we get our annual Santa pictures.Michael had an 8o'clock basketball game and then more dancing Sat. the 12th at Breakfast with Santa at the WCCC only to be followed that evening by the Grand Luau at the same venue.Mya just loves tagging along and enjoying the festivities! Daniel and I were able to get away over the weekend of the 19th. Luckily his company party ended up on the 16th in the middle of the week. I had to do 2 office visits on the way up to Salt Lake so we made a weekend out of it. It was really fun to get away since we haven't gone anywhere just the two of us since Mya was born. We stayed at Hotel Monaco. Took in a Grizzly hockey game, UofU basketball game, a movie, went to the Temple where I ran into an old friend from Riverton, WY on the way in, and Music and the spoken word at the Conference center on Sunday before coming home. I'll admit, it took quite a bit of self urging to go for the WHOLE weekend... but I survived being away from my babies... we'd better hurry and go again now that I'm in the mood.

Dear Santa

Seating for 14 please

My parents came down for Thanksgiving! Third trip in as many months. It's been nice to see them so much. We cooked all day on Thurday and then ate. Then the girls and I got up and headed to wal-mart for black friday. It was CRAZIER than EVER before. I've always walked into wal-mart got what I wanted and been out in 15 minutes max. I new it was going to be a different story when we couldn't park in the parking lot. Anyway, we shopped til we dropped. Then I came home and made my new nephew-in-law a birthday cake. Jen and Jimmy had a little party for him at their house Friday evening. Saturday was filled with more shopping with mom, crafts with Julie, Taco's, and Krave (frozen yogurt place downtown). The guys went to Kannarville to hunt coyotes... or at least they would have hunted them if they saw any.

Aviation Nation 2009

We missed the air show last year for the first time since we started going... we just didn't want to take Mya when she was so little. We all missed it... so this year we decided we were going no matter what! We even missed a few things around here. It was worth it. 2 year ago was the 60th anniversary of the Air Force and EVERYBODY decided to go to the airshow... there were 30,000 people there and we had to stand in line for about 3 hours to get on a bus to get off base. Another reason why we didn't go last year. There were a lot of people again this year... but we took off to get in line 3/4 of the way through the Thunderbirds show and were able to get in line and only wait about 30 minutes.Michael and Haleigh with Thunderbird # 5. He flys inverted, that's why his #5 is upside down. This is the civilian Patriot Jet team. They are pretty much awesome. The video in this post is of them.

This is the C-17. Imagine a WHALE flying. It's incredible! Daniel's cousin Brian flys these and his other cousin (Brian's little brother) Justin is the load master. We got to see both of their jobs in action. Pretty cool guys!

And of course the mighty Thunderbirds

Ooooo.... Ahhhhh!

Watching the airshow gives us a great sence of patriotism. Thanks to all of our friends and family who serve our country and protect our freedom! Thanks, Gretchen, Greg, Mike, Susan, Kevin, Brian, & Justin!

Sing a song...

Today while Michael was at Scouts and Haleigh was at dance class... Miss Mya decided she would practice developing her talents too! Not bad for 19 months old, eh? She was LOVING it! So was I.

J'Dell Wedding

I know, ya'll can't believe my man hating sister finally fell in love and got married! ;) But she did! It was an absolutely beautiful ceremony and celebration!

We love you Jen & Jimmy!

and yes, I made the cake!

Oh yah, and that's Cody standing behind Julie... they got engaged last week!

Halloween @ school

Halloween parties at school are the BIG THING! I remember we used to have Christmas parties too. Now they really don't do anything for Christmas (at least at our school) and we have another pretty good party for Valentines Day... but nothing like Halloween! The kids parade all through the school and you get to see all their cute and scary costumes, then head back to their class rooms for the party! I went to help out this year.

Halloween Carnival

Every year the youth of our ward put on a Halloween Carnival for the kids.
This year there were lots of games and prizes! Michael had his 1st playoff game for football so he had to miss it and Thanks to Autumn for taking his place and going as Thing 1 with Haleigh so she didn't feel weird without her counterpart. Next year he'll get to help out!
