Michael & Harry

Michael started reading the Harry Potter series in April and he just finished the the 7th book! Congratulations Michael! Sorry the new movie didn't come out for the holidays! Since school has started he's also had to read 3 other books, or he may have finished sooner!

Thanksgiving 2008

The kids Hang'n with aunt Jen before dinner, Mya being big, and it's all about the turkey!

Thanks to Cols and Carrie for coming to dinner too. It was fun to have you. Thanks for bringing your china Jules, it was nice... glad we didn't have any accidents!

Can I just say I'm thankful for tax season so Julie has to work and has to stay here for Thanksgiving! It was SO fun to have my sisters at our house for Thanksgiving. Sorry Black Friday wasn't as fun as last year girls... we'll just have to keep trying! ;)

Thanksgiving fun in the kitchen

Michael and Haleigh helped me tonight with some fun treats for our table tomorrow. These little acorns are made of peanutbutter, chocolate, nuts, and a pretzle. The cornucopia is just a steamed sugar cone bent while it's soft.

Happy Thanksgiving

We'll be eatting Turkey dinner at our house this year with Julie, Jennifer, & Colleen. Should be fun. Daniel and I went shopping for all the trimmings on Saturday. I think I just need to pick up some BINGO prizes and then cook the turkey!

The leaf in this picture is a REAL leaf that I scanned into the computer and then rotated it and copied it a bunch of times and made this some what cute Thanksgiving page. Awesome, huh? Did I mention it's a REAL leaf. The colors are beautiful. Our friend Robert picked it up while hiking and then I stole it from him when I went over to borrow a stamp set from Palma! Shhh... now that I have a copy in my digital scrapbooking supplies I can take it back and he'll never know it was missing! :)

Jubilee preview

So instead of a tree this year for the Jubilee I decided a Gingerbread house would be a better choice for me. It's up on the table and not all over the house for the baby to get into. So this was my inspiration...

And this is what I ended up with....
A LOT of planning went into this and even more lessons were learned. I think it's best not to use baking soda in the recipe I used so the pieces will stay true to shape when baked. But... it still turned out pretty good and was fun. The Adobe shack is actually my favorite, no pattern, just some squares and a cacti and yucca. Thanks for your help Jen, getting them assembled decorated and delivered.

Here's both of them. I felt a lot better when we deliverd them and they fit right in with all the others. :)
AND>>> This is my FAVORITE tree at the Jubilee this year. It is a life size Grinch stealing a christmas tree. SO FUN!

Musical Christmas preview

Here's Michael and Haleigh playing with their group "Festival Stings" at a retirement home the other night. We used it as a practice to get ready for some Christmas performances coming up.

Little Artist

Haleigh left her pen out (she was creating her own $100 bill) and Mya found it!
Michael did this once when we were moving from Wyoming, but he used a huge thick black sharpie and colored all over his naked self! We had been using it to write on the boxes of our stuff and I like to think it was his way of marking himself so we would be sure to take him with us!
Cute right of passage... I just hope she never cuts her own hair!

Vroom! Vroom!

Haleigh loaded up Mya and all her toys and gave her a ride around the house last night. They both had a BLAST!

Halloween week update

Grandma Frahm came for the whole week. So we drug her with us through our daily schedule and tried to throw in some extra fun. I think she's glad "those days" are over and that it's our turn now! ;)

We went to Staheli Farms Corn maze and Barn Dance with Jen and Ju. I was not particularly impressed with the corn maze. Give me a GPS and some coordinance and instruction and I may go back.We also attended Odessy Dance Theatre's THRILLER. It was pretty good. The weather was awesome. Haleigh didn't like the Gools, it was almost 11pm and she was bugging us to get right home because she REALLY wanted to finish her homework! :)Here's Mya with a sucker, this is her 3rd sucker to date. They keep her HAPPY! Took Haleigh and McKenna to trunk or treat around the park and then to the Sevy's for the annual haunted back yard. Michael LOVES it. He even skipped out on trick or treating so they could get ready! I can't believe I didn't get any pictures, but Michael was the crazy chef in the Kannibal Kitchen, and Haleigh and Mckenna were selling poison lemonade (you knew it was poisoned due to the dead guy face down in the grass next to them!)
