I had a not so fantastic experience with my epidural with Steven, so I'm hoping to try things a little differently. I have an amazing doula who is coming to help us, so that is what I'm looking forward to!
You can do it! I've done two births without epidural and one with. It's a very different experience and can be great. I would recommend considering a perennial block (sorry to be gross), it makes pushing less painful.
I labored in water once, highly recommend that, tub was full when I went for a water birth :(
I did the epidural the third time around (with the twins) and was glad I did, but I have back issues and back labor, so I had extra reasons to do it (even with the epidural, I requested a perennial block and LOVED it.) Okay I just grossed Darrell out big time :)
Thanks Shelly!! Laboring in the tub is on my list of things to help me not get an epidural. The tub is my best friend :) I don't know that you'll gross darrell out. I'm going to be the one to gross him out when he asks me what a perennial block is. Haha
Sorry for the long time in-between blog comments. This year was just too crazy. But I have gone back and looked at all your blogs that I missed. I loved the comment and especially the pictures. Good luck with no epidural. I had three natural and three with epidurals and I must say that my babies and I all did better with the epi. Hope it goes well for you this time. It should be soon. Kimberly too!
i say go you if you can do no epidural. i went as long as i could. course it never fully took.... as for under 20 hours i have no experience there :) I`m so excited for you to have a girl! I can`t wait to see her

wo, no epidural? You are brave! And can't believe it's already time for your baby to come! So excited.
You can do it! Especially if you're going to have a doula there to help you! I'll pray for you! :)
Wow, no epidural. To me, that would be like getting my wisdom teeth pulled with no painkiller. I say kudos to anyone who does it.
And then I say, I know my very low pain tolerance and it's not for me. ; )
