Curves Around the World: All Black

Hello Friends and Hello June!
Can you believe it's already June!?! This year is truly flying by. Well today's "Curves Around the World" post is about wearing all black. Now I don't usually wear all black even though I love black and white because I always like adding some contrast to an outfit so this was actually a bit of a challenge for me.

What I'm Loving: Delicate Layered Necklaces

Hello Lovely Friends!
So it's been pretty warm here in California while I know a lot of places right now are going through a very cold winter, but the weather here is making me think of spring. Spring is just around the corner, one jewelry look I'm really loving for spring and summer is the delicate layered necklaces. I've been seeing a lot of them in stores and while I still love statement necklaces I think this is a great change especially when it becomes warmer days.

Curves Around the World: Cheers to Kate!

Hey Beauties!!!
So I'm still getting used to this time change, I was fully ready to take pictures when I got home yesterday but it was way too dark. So I rushed home today to take these, it's been really overcast here in California but I'm just happy were finally getting colder weather. But yeah today's a special "Curves Around the World" because our beautiful fellow blogger Kate is getting Married this weekend, so as a group we are pretending like we are attending.

Curves Around the World: Collars

Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far! It's the middle of the week and you know what that means..."Curves Around the World" post!!! This weeks theme is..."Collars." I think collars can be so fun whether they are attached or added on.
So I really wanted to do a fun collar, but I don't really own fun collars. But I remembered that I bought some collar clips from Forever 21 awhile back that I haven't worn before and thought they would go great for this challenge. I actually thought they were sweater clips when I saw them because I've always wanted sweater clips after I saw the councilor from Glee wearing them. So I got it without even reading the package, so when I realized it was for collars I decided to try it with a sweater but It was too long to work for one, so I was disappointed about it. But I totally forgot about it until this challenge and I thought it would be a great way to dress up my collar.
{shirt:Forever 21+} {jeans:Target} {shoes:Ross} {collar clip:Forever 21}
I decided to pair my top with jeans because I realized I wear a lot of skirts and dresses on the blog and I wanted to change it up a bit. I really do wear skirts and dresses a lot but I do wear jeans quite a bit too. But yeah I love the color of these jeans, they are like an emerald green but I don't think the color translates that well in the pictures. I actually bought these jeans last year when the pantone color of the year was emerald because I really wanted something that color and this was the first thing that I saw in the color that fit me. The jeans are from the Target plus line and I used to think they had some cute things but recently there plus size line isn't that great. Have any of you shopped the Target plus line?
So that's my take on this weeks theme collars, how do you think I did? What's your take on collars?

Oh by the way I was featured on "The Plump Pinay" blog, so if you want to check it out you can click the link above! :)

Art Deco

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week and having a fun weekend so far! Have any of you watched the movie "The Great Gatsby" yet? I've been wanting to watch the movie but I have no one to watch it with, most of my friends that wanted to watch the movie have already seen it. So I guess I have to wait till it comes out on DVD. But I just love the 1920's and the whole style of that era. Just looking at the pictures from the movie really inspire me.

I really like the whole art deco style of the 1920's and if you look at the jewelry that is around right now you can find that there are a lot of art deco inspired pieces out there.

What is Art Deco? According to the Webster dictionary Art Deco is a popular design style of the 1920s and 1930s characterized especially by bold outlines, geometric and zigzag forms, and the use of new materials.

Have a great weekend everyone! ~Nina~

Curves Around the World: Lace

Hey Everyone, I hope your week is going well! It's that time of the week for another Theme from the girls from Curves around the world! Last weeks theme was Animal print and below is a banner of all the fabulous women from our blog group and what they wore during last weeks challenge.

This weeks theme was Lace, I had a few things to choose from but I decided to choose my first maxi dress I've ever gotten. I always thought I could never wear a maxi dress because I'm a short girl but I saw this maxi dress from forever 21+ and thought it wasn't so bad on me, plus it was on sale so I was like why not. The only problem was that it was really long on me but I figured that I can always put a belt on and pull it up to make it a little shorter on me.

 {dress |F21+} {Sweater & sunglasses|F21} {shoes|H&M} {bag|Aldo} {necklace|Macy's}

This day I went to Santa Monica with my friends and it was pretty fun. I have to tell you I was able to conquer my fear of Ferris wheels, I really hate heights so I've never been on one before. But I said it's time to conquer my fear and I know my friends will be there to help me through it. And I'm so happy they were there for me, I really don't think I would have done it without them!l :) See the picture below, I am very nervous I'm gripping to the sides, and this is actually when we weren't moving yet but we were half way up. haha
"Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice." - movie After Earth

After Santa Monica my friends and I went to watch a movie at the Hollywood cemetery. We were suppose to do this our last LA trip but it was sold out that day. So this time we prepared and got our tickets ahead of time and came early, but let me tell you there was so many people there. Last time they said there was about 3,000 people there and it was sold out, this time it was sold out as well. It's really a fun experience, you can bring your own food and blankets and you can even bring wine and alcohol if you want. The movie we watched was "Some like it hot" with Marilyn Monroe and it was my first time ever watching one of her movies, and I have to say I really enjoyed the movie! :)

Here's a picture from the photo booth that they had. It was really a fun experience, it's definitely something I recommend and If you go with a group of friends I'm sure you will have lots of fun! :)

Don't forget to check out the rest of the wonderful ladies from Curves Around the World, I'm sure each one of them has an awesome lace outfit!

The Renaissance Faire

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far. This past weekend I was able to go to the Renaissance Faire with a few friends. It was a fun experience, I have never been before so it was cool to see everyone dressed up in costumes and speaking in old English. We were able to do some archery with a bow and arrow, It was so much harder then I thought but it was a fun experience. We even watched the Jousting competition, it was very interesting.

This is the outfit that I wore, it was very hot outside so once again I didn't wear a jacket. I knew it would be a hot day and we were going to be outside, so i decided to wear something light that would keep me cool. Thank you to my friend Iris who helped me take pictures of my outfit that day.
{sunglasses|Forever 21} {shirt & shorts|Old Navy} {tank|F21+} {shoes|LoveD} {bag|my moms} {necklace|Philpinnes} {watch|Kohls}

So below are a few pictures from the Faire, I wish I took more but because it was so hot, I was kind of lazy. hehe

They had so many cool random things that were cool, but things were so expensive. They had some pretty flower crowns but they were way over priced. These masks were really cool too and they had so many different kinds and  they have some great details on them as well.
Above is a pictures of some of the performers at the Faire, look how great there costumes and makeup are. I love how they were just chilling on the ground while people surrounded them and took there picture.

This is a picture of my friends and I, as you can see two of my friends dressed up as a pirate and a gypsy. I wish I would have dressed up too because it was fun seeing everyone dressed up and it would of been fun to dress up as well. But I didn't really have something to dress up in.
The last picture is of my friend Iris and I, wearing some really cool hats that they let us try on. I actually really liked the hat, I think it's a pirate hat and it had a really cool feather in it too.

Have any of you ever been to the Renaissance Faire? What would you dress up as if you were to go?

Have a wonderful day! ~Nina~

Brighten up a gray day

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far! The weather here in California has been overcast and raining. Oh this weird weather. But on the bright side cooler weather means I get to wear some of my warmer clothing again. I love layering and to be honest I love cold weather more then I like hot weather because I don't like the feeling of being hot. But don't get me wrong I like when the weather is warm just not scorching hot but it gets like that in California. So I'm glad that we get this little break from the scorching hot weather.

I love the earrings that I'm wearing, they're like long chains and I got them from forever 21 and I feel kinda rock and roll in them. I'm a very girly girl but I love to add little touches that make me less girly. At the same time I don't like being too dark you can say, that's why I decided to wear this mint colored sweater with all the dark colors that I was wearing.

 {top | H&M} {sweater | Old Navy} {Leggings | Target} {Boots | swap meet} {earrings | Forever 21}

I love these boots that I'm wearing too because they lace up. I'm the kind of person that has a hard time finding boots because I have big calves. So finding a pair of boots that fit over my calves is really hard, that's why I really like these boots because they are lace up you can adjust them to fit. So I suggest if you are like me and have a hard time finding boots that fit your calves you should try some lace up boots. :)

Lastly a picture with my doggy Mocha because she loves to come out when I'm taking pictures.

Have a wonderful day ~ Nina ~

Colorful Tribal Print

Happy Monday Everyone, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I have a great and busy weekend. The weather here in California is so crazy, this weekend it was in the 100's and right now its so gloomy and it's raining outside.

This is the outfit I wore to my friends baby shower on Saturday. It was really hot outside, like I said it was in the 100's where I lived but I knew where I was going it might be a little cooler. So I wore this kinda like tribal print dress. I really like this dress because it's colorful and I love the design on it as well. My only problem with this dress is it had buttons going down the whole dress and the buttons were popping out in some area's so I put small safety pins in the area's I was afraid might pop open. I learned that from one of the bloggers that I follow and I think it worked great, I had no problems with my dress that day. :)

{dress | Target} {sweater | Forever 21} {shoes | Aldo} {bracelets | Multiple places}

I really wanted to wear sandals with the dress but I'm still on a hunt for a great summer sandal that I can wear with everything. So I decided to pair my black oxfords with the dress. I love this shoes because they are so comfortable. These were actually my school shoes when I went to school in the Philippines. See I had to buy black flats and the sizes in the Philippines didn't fit me because I have wide feet and there sizes run really small, I know you can't really tell in the photo's though but my feet are big. So I went to so many different places in search for school shoes but nothing fit. So I decided to go to a brand that had American sizes that I knew would fit me and that was Aldo, and I fell in love with these oxfords when I saw them. I haven't really worn them since I got back from the Philippines, so I'm really starting to love them again!

Oh and this yellow sweater is from forever 21 not forever 21+, I got it awhile ago and before honestly I hated going to forever 21 because clothes never fit me but I would go with my mom because yeah she wears clothes from forever 21. At the time I was looking for something to wear with a dress for an occasion and I would have never thought to look at forever 21 because back then they didn't have the faith line or the forever 21+ line at the store near me. But while my mom was browsing she store she found this sweater and said it looked like it would fit me and at first I didn't want to try it on because I thought oh it wont fit me. But my mom convinced me to just try it on and I was so surprised that it fit. It just goes to show that you can't let sizes intimidate you, just try things on and you never know it might fit you. :)

Have a wonderful day everyone! ~ Nina ~

Printed Pants

Hey Everyone! So on Friday I posted a pair of paisley pants that I really loved from Forever 21+ and I decided to post a few ways I would style them. A casual way and a more dressed up way for a night out.

Printed Pants 2 ways

Oh by the way everything in the picture above is from forever 21! I really love that store and I really think it caters to different styles and ages (My mom still shops at Forever 21) But it also has everything at the store, its like a one stop shop. Are you guys going to try the printed pants trend?

Have a wonderful day ~Nina~
