I've discovered that I can't live without dessert. Don't even try to ask me to, because I wont. So I'm sharing a little snack that is slightly to die for. Most people like their baked pears peeled, but I've discovered that the peelings taste just as great left on. (Seriously try this. It's SO EASY and quick and my kids SWEAR that they're having a pear pie or something).
Ingredients
Ingredients
DIRECTIONS:
Cut pears in half and core them. Place cut side up in a baking dish. Melt butter (if using honey, melt it with the butter) and drizzle over pears; then drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with sugar. Lightly sprinkle some cinnamon and the zest over pears. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Serve with dollop of cream and another touch of sprinkled cinnamon.
OTHER TIPS: We've also served with ice cream and homemade granola. It's literally like a pie. I've replaced the sugar with honey and found just as great of a success! I just melt it with the butter. I peel the pears for my kids, but I keep the peelings on for me and my husband.
