I took a pill but it's back again. I think I should see the sinseh soon. Problem is, I won't be able to explain myself in mandarin. :/
Was quite discouraged after the first lesson but the instructor for the second one was quite encouraging ! :) He said I was considered pretty good already since I don't panic when I have to brake, haha. Am not sure when my next lesson will be. My father is suggesting I switch to auto since it makes more sense and it's cheaper.. Which is true....... :S Have to decide fast to save more !
JT just told me that there isn't resources tut on weds, phew ! At least I have more time to do readings..
Ahh, listening to the songs from Wicked and Les Mis makes me miss London so. Although I still love Paris more.. What a wonderful summer it was !

Tired but fulfilled. Bicycle bicycle bicycle. :D Although travelling on the road was a mite scary especially when I couldn't go uphill. My excuse being I always try to adjust to the lower gears because when it's too easy, I feel like I'm not in control. Good workout with the penang gang + yt - nicknick ! Pity we didn't try all the places. But sharing food at bedok central was great..
First practical driving lesson was disastrous. My instructor spoke super quickly. :S It's so difficult learning manual !!! I tell you, I cannot coordinate my different feet and hands and keep my eyes on the road. I can't gauge and stay within the lanes either. Also I am too early when turning at bends. ARGH. Turns out I am no prodigy. At this point being able to travel smoothly at 30km/hr is but a dream.
I feel like shopping ! Uniqlo has nice crappy t-shirts ! Gahhh. I wish I were going to bangkok. I want to get tons of stuff. Sparkly stationery, longchamp tote, long cardigan, a pedicure.. :x Am already spending tons on driving. Wonder if my tuesday plans will pan out..
I have so many gorgeous friends. I feel so ick in comparison.

I wonder if it is possible to classify geog of devt as a UE. I see mathematical formulae in the readings. And most of the suggested readings are from BOOKS. BOOKS IN RBR. I bloody hate photostat-ting.
Now Poe's short story is so dull and wordy in comparison. Worse than any Sherlock Holmes story.
It's lovely being at home when it rains. The perfect time for a nap on my parents' queen sized bed, hurhur. Ahh, I want a raincoat and wellingtons !

No wonder Ryan has 2 copies of it. Everyone who loves a good murder mystery should read it ! Actually, everyone should read it. It's really thrilling and her style is very straightforward. There is clear focus on the mystery at hand without the fluff and pomp of endless description. It was a gripping book and leaves me so satisfied and yet so unfulfilled.
Couldn't put the book down. As such, am in some kind of semi-comatose state and I've forgotten everything I wanted to say.

It seems like today is another one of those days when I want to talk to everyone and I want to talk to no one. It's funny because I seem to myself, hardly real. I feel that I rarely let on that I have a deep side. (apart from the flippant, frivolous one that takes the train to little india when all I really wanted was to go home) Or maybe it is that people really just don't care. Either way, because I have to keep the act up, keep it together, it seem as if there is no one at all. To some extent, because there is no one else, there isn't some way to define myself. I am instantly detached- no longer there. Or here.
It's funny when sooks says that she cannot be loved. I always disagree. But suddenly I see where a person may feel that way. Maybe from a different angle. When one's expectations just cannot be matched.

The book fair was utter madness. Who knew local women could be so hawk-like ! Seriously, they swoop down upon new trays of books like half-starved birds of prey. They snatch the beautifully illustrated copies of Alice in Wonderland or worse, stretch over the stacks which effectively blocks out any possible competition. Cunning, very cunning. Triumphant cries abound. Birthday Stories edited by Murakami made her day. SHUT UP ALREADY, CAN YOU BE MORE IRRITATING. Smug look as lady whips the Nora Roberts to her chest. (even though I can't give two owl hoots for nora roberts) Disgusting, I don't know whether to feel pathetic for my cowardice or to feel appalled at the ruthlessness.
That was after traveling from bishan to jurong east to expo by mrt. Head spinning, I made it out of the expo hall alive. 7 books ! The childrens' books gave me the most joy. Lots of familiar childhood favourites that I only wish I could keep in my library at home. Also contemplated getting this cool, colour version of Hound of the Baskervilles with illustrations and fun facts. Condition was really poor though. But 2 dollars a book ! Still, a steal ! I got an Adrian Mole: Cappucino Years, Lassie Come Home (:, Bernice Rubens' Nine Lives, Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man, Kristen Bakis' Lives of the Monster Dogs and my gems of the day, matching copies of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. :) Was dismayed at first because the former was being snatched up EVERYWHERE, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. But after some random digging, I found a copy that matched the 'looking glass' one I found earlier. :) Go me ! In your faces you horrible people !
Dropped GIS like it's hot. I'd better score at least 2 As this sem.
Been hooked on the Bird & the Bee recently. :) La la la is my current ringtone. <3>
Had astons with my family also. That satisfies all my cravings for the week. It's horrible but I keep thinking of steak. :(

How awesome are these ! The Harajuku girls on cupcakes. I want them for my birthday ! As party favours or something. They're too pretty to eat ! Check this out.
Guess who has a PROVISIONAL DRIVING LICENCE ! :D Haha ! And to think I've been fretting over btt.. Lucky I got last minute tuition. Now for ftt ! Though it seems that there aren't practical lessons till october.. :/
Finished The Hound of the Baskervilles and watched the 1932 (?) film with Basil Rathbone. That dude looks like he can fit into transylvania any day haha. Anyway, the film was disappointing cos it excluded many parts of the book and changed the storyline a bit. Gah. The book on the other hand reminded me of how much I love Sherlock Holmes and good ol' fashioned detective fiction. Now all I want to do is read Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None and Poe's The Murders of the Rue Morgue (although the ending of the latter has been spoilt by my prof).
It is always fun shopping for underwear. Especially the pretty kind.. I wish the ones at topshop and the boxers by Hush Puppies were cheaper. Hurhur.

Basketball ramen, mmms. :)
There are 7 of us in my development tutorial and 10 of us in my natural resources tutorial. Shizzle. And ah omgah, for the former it's prof Y ! Gosh. Am a bit apprehensive cos it's economic geography after all.
In other news, I am enjoying The Hound of the Baskervilles. Even more so now that she mentioned in the email we should finish it before tutorial in week 4. And and, she has cut down on the number of readings ! WOOT. She took away the talented mr ripley (I think), added Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, replaced the haunted monastery with two of Van Gulik's short stories and cut down on another China reading.
Pbft to the BTT trial test. Did a bunch of practice questions which weren't too tricky but the system hung so we did the test from a booklet. 8 mistakes. BAH. Quite a few careless ones though. Like I forgot the signal that motorists make with their hands. Seriously, who signals like that ! Ah well, if I fail the test I'll retake it. No big deal. Oh and buy the 7 dollar book with the 300 practice questions, haha.
Pten pten pten. The smuper belated party for mich ! SUCCESS ! :D <3 Despite the panic that ensued at 7pm and then later when mich refused to go up ! Haha.. Wish Jema, Graces and Kiki were here though..

Tempted to drop GIS and plunge head on into FS2010. Lectures today were disappointing. Hope things go snap snap in weeks to come. For now I shall be content with the rather good looking prof B. HAHA.
Had my ma la huo guo today, couldn't resist ! And rocky road ice cream at home afterwards. Shucks, need to exercise.
Throbbing headache through most of today due to fitful sleep. Partly due to the nap I took yesterday I think. As a result, had another one of them weird but good dreams. Dreamt that I was some roadie or helper when the Backstreet Boys came to town. Took pictures with most of them (including the good looking one ! kevin is it ?) but shaky hands resulted in some blur photos. Haha, talk about random ! Been having a whole slew of dreams. Some odd, some good, one scary. It's probably why I nap so much.. Or maybe they're the result of me napping too much ? Hurhur. Reality is always dull in comparison.

Blogger has been biatchy about posting photos. :/ But yay, I got a picture with a storm trooper ! I'm glad I went to the comic convention with gpt, aggie and longteng after all.. Aren't you glad I dragged you aggie ! Pity I couldn't spend more time there.. Wanted an ugly doll (Mr Kasoogi !) and some toki doki stuff but ah wells. :(
Was at kino after that and guess who I saw ! Mr Loh ! :D In the comics section, haha. It's been so long.. Those were the days.. And just when I had a nice good chat with miss zhu the same morning. :) It was funny because right after I chatted with him, I met the class guys. I see that they're the same. Shifty when in a bunch around girl classmates.
FEB (fucking evil bastard) made an appearance. Again. Meirong's alien greeting is so funny ! Hurhurhur. Week 2 commences. Hope GIS won't be too bad. :/ My facebook seems to be wonky on both firefox and IE. Meh. Craving for the basketball ramen and astons and ma la huo guo ! Internet has been down. Msn currently doesn't work. Nothing much has happened. Zkai got it right when he said that all I seem to do is eat, sleep and stay at home. My first lecture of the academic year is cultural landscapes with prof b tomorrow ! Hope it's a good start. Also, may crime fiction not eventually bite me in the ass with the amount of reading required.. I suspect it's going to be a crazy sem with dance classes involved, maybe. And somehow I always do worse in sem 1.
I miss Paris. Paris j'adore.
In other news, I've FINALLY registered for BTT. (after the failed attempt at registering like uh, two years ago haha) And it's next week. Great balls of fire mans, wish me luck. Cambodia sounds exciting ! But money is never enough. We shall see.
I shall try to be a good girl this sem. :S Which is what I say every sem. Year 3. Gosh, how time flies. I must say though, it was a really good summer vacation. Am looking forward to winter break and caroling. :)

Fun dee na seems to work. Hahahaha. Or maybe it was the absolut pear + ribena, beer, shepherd's pie, macaroni and cheese, wii ddr and house of the dead last night. Had a really good dream. Had a similarly good one a few days ago too. Mmmms.. Though sleep was fitful and lacking on the night of tuesday.
My back is sunburnt. Correction, only the top one-third of it is. Hope it doesn't become some ugly tan.. 'Twas fun cooking our own meal at jlow's last night and having it al fresco on the balcony. :D That and all the alcohol and mixers for the raging alcoholics that we are.

1. The science centre was fun. I like to touch things. But actually I think I liked the marine environment part best. :) I actually didn't mind the Van Gogh movie ironically. Just bummed now that I can't do Reading Visual Images (it's about art !) cos it clashes with everythaaaang.
2. Whatever. Like gwei says, we have to move on. Stop trying to walk through doors that are actually walls. Stop walking in the first place.
3. You fucking bastard.
4. I really really really miss Europe now. Even though I'm not sure what exactly I want to be away from since school is not exactly the bane of my existence.

Pretty eh ? Looks like ben day dots covering a miniature peranakan place. :)
Flight of the Conchords is hilarious. I love all the characters. Especially Murray. Hurhurhur. Stayed home today. Watched Center Stage on HBO. One of my favourite dance movies. Then watched Rent on dvd. Loved the songs ! Especially La Vie Boheme, haha. But some parts were confusing though.. Then watched Confessions of a Shopaholic. Isla Fischer is crazy. Haha I love her hair !
A friend of mine had an interesting albeit scary proposition. Prospects do sound exciting. All I'm worried about it whether I have time, whether I'll be able to keep it up and my performance. :/ Always anxious about not living up to expectations.
I want to go watch the fireworks ! But damn it'll be crowded. Roar.

How uneventful. Oh well. What's one to do ?
I really have no idea what to take this sem. Everything clashes ! And I realise it is not worth it to take both crime fiction and music because they're both arts gems and music can't be counted as a breadth. GAH. Somehow all those modules from other faculties have timings that eat into 2 fass module slots. GAH. Now I think I might as well fulfil the methods requirement for geog but everything seems to clash. ROAR.
It is warm, I am bored and hungry and school is starting in a week. SOBXYZ. It feels like eons since I made use of my brains or had to wake up early. Will probably be cooped at home tomorrow. Pbft. At the very least now I'm being entertained by a cute boy hur.
