Before I forget... I had that weird dream again. The one where I'm in some oldish house somewhere. Someone was killed and the killers are going to come back for us. Or something like that. Only this time we left the house in a car to get away sneakily or something and we ended up in some arid place. Then we couldn't cross because the area was flooded. (which is kinda weird on hindsight for an arid place) Nightmare. :/ And weird because it's not as if I've been watching adventure movies or tv. I only watch American Idol and er the Ellen Show ? Haha..
Previously I had another dream where we were all at Suntec or something and there was this competition between us and another team. Something like an amazing race for camp or rather capture the flag. Only it was a huge yellow orb (like the one at the Coldplay concert lols) and we had time to hide it before the other team catches up. I only remember Regina being there and her fantastic idea of deflating it and dividing it into smaller orbs. Then I ran like crazy somewhere and ended up burying it in some run down apartment/condo garden/cemetary place.
Seriously, you can make movies out of my dreams/nightmares. In other news, I can't open any link from Linc. Damn. Which means I can't access journal articles !!! Sucks. Don't know why it doesn't work now.

I just figured that all my guy friends are kinda weird. They're not the jock-ish kinds I hear about from other people. Maybe that's why I spent all my time before choir practices last time staring wistfully at the soccer guys. HAHA.

Note to self: A four hour nap by accident does in no way help in making me feel less tired. If anything, I'm physically awake but mentally a zombie.
Restless restless restless. I'm not sure why.
Sometimes I wish I was working. But I'll probably look back on this and regret it, haha. I'm looking forward to working, hope it'll be confirmed soon. It'll be an added bonus if nessa gets the job too and we get assigned the same groups. Fingers crossed ! I'll have to uncross them though. So I can type more nonsense for the 2202 and 2018 projects. Meh. Can't wait till weds is over. Then it's the bulk of 3239...

Singing makes me happy :) But I really don't like this version of Yesterday. Or maybe it's just how we're doing it. Argh. If I had more talent, I'd be arranging Wheatus' Respect for second half.

1111st entry ! Ooh, no wonder blogger let me post photos. Oh joy.. It's in reverse chronological order though...
Love this picture. :) Really captures the elation of 11000 of us.
Lovers in Japan. The accompanying visuals were very apt... Like people in the '50s kissing at the 'lovers' part heh, very cute, the blossoming sakura, the busy Japanese street and lights..
When they came up to the second tier seats to sing :)
Chris Martin is spectacular. Kiki is right when she said that Gwyneth is one lucky bony ass, haha..
Thanks so much Sooks. I wouldn't have experienced it if not for you ! Since I almost couldn't find anyone to watch with..
And it's quite funny you know.. Because I've always been a fan of Coldplay's music but didn't really immerse myself in Viva La Vida. But my favourite photographer-blogger linked youtube videos of Coldplay to accompany the wedding photos. And it was Coldplay's Fix You Live in Toronto on youtube, as the awesome last song, bathed in purple, that really did it for me. So really, it is one of those random small things in life. :)

I saw this on Rainn Wilson's twitter. It's kind of morbid-melancholic right ? I remember doing this for lit. I really have a love-hate relationship with the subject. In other news people, it is 2006 all over again. Except less gay ? Hahaha.
Joey showed me a video about this comedian and his take on going green. He said something pretty true. About how the planet's 4 billion years old and people have only been around for 200 thousand. It's gone through multiple cycles of ice ages and eruptions and tectonics and whatnot. He said what this about saving the planet ??? The planet's going to be alright. The planet's okay but the people are fucked. Food for thought.
And so a brand new day to feel less angsty and angry with the world ! Right. Submission, groans. But aggie's random phonecall was a welcome distraction :) Love you.

Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up.
If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending.
Every movie we see, Every story we're told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule.
But sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave.
And maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe... it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is... just... moving on.
Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope.

OMGAHHHH IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME KICKASS SHIZZLE !!!!! (everyone who missed it should totally kick themselves !) TOTALLY WORTH THE 191 BUCKS PLUS WAITING TIME ! (they came on around close to 915) I had a damn good time :D The lights and lasers were amazing, the stage with the huge projections on the backdrop was great, the props with the butterfly confetti and yellow balloon thingums... But I must say I was most impressed by how interactive they (Chris haha) were with the audience ! He's like super nice and friendly and and they performed like in the midst of the audience ! Where the second tier seats were !!!! Awesome lah.. Plus their take on The Monkey's I'm A Believer and that little harmonica country-esque song which Will sang. It was great... And I loved the video for Lovers in Japan. The atmosphere was great too and damn, Chris Martin was craaaazy (as he always is). His energy and running about on stage.. British people are so cute.. Haha, we were so psyched man.. It was epic ! AWESOME DOPE. HEH :D
The only downer was that their tshirt designs weren't as cool, lols.
Chris Martin (singing in the tune of 'I'm A Believer'): PEOPLE AT THE BACK, THE MOST GOOD LOOKING OF ALL, ARE YOU IN LOVE ? Me: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH (unintelligible scream of supreme awesome highness) ! YES WITH YOU !!!!!

Finished both books ! I think I shall borrow more of Coetzee's novels. He has a very peculiar writing style that I'm not used to. Perhaps it stems from his South African roots.. He was the 2003 Nobel Laureate for Literature ! Cool. You know how I love to wiki books and movies after I'm done with them..
The sad news is that somehow my guitar's string broke. :( Have to get it restrung at jianqi's shop soon.. And I still can't play B and F major !!!!! But ! I do know how to play C maj, D maj, D7 (or is it D minor?), E maj, E minor, G maj (favourite chord to play), A major and A7 (favourite sounding chord). Ironically I am very bad at C major. Was inspired by Jingkang's enthusiasm so I took it out for a strum after years of it rotting by my piano.
What do xunny and I have in common ? The fact that we did nothing productive over the weekend. We need mich's smugger spirit man !
Need to prepare for sustainability tutorial and work on our blog, my part of hydro prac 4 (yes ! final one ! though hydro pracs are always the least of my problems... unlike atmo pracs last sem, gag), start on our landscapes project and finally proposals for the biophysical project. Am going to be worked to the bone, at least till the 1st. Then it's the madness of sustainability till the 16th and then studying for the exams until the 5th may when I can finally pronounce year 2 as completed.

Has Bill Shaw, who was born in Hankey, not two hundred kilometres away, and works in a hardware shop, seen so little of the world that he does not know there are men who do not readily make friends, whose attitude towards friendships between men is corroded with scepticism? Modern English friend from Old English, freond, from freon, to love. Does the drinking of tea seal a love-bond, in the eyes of Bill Shaw? Yet but for Bill and Bev Shaw, but for old Ettinger, but for bonds of some kind, where would he be now? On the ruined farm with the broken telephone amid the dead dogs.
-Disgrace, J.M. Coetzee
Speaking of friends, everything, everyone seems to have a shelf life. An expiry date of sorts. And I fear it so for those who are important to me. Then again, they may just be important to me now, in this time and I just don't know it. Who knows really, what can happen in a year ? A month ? There are so many who were extinguished just like that. Some I regard a real pity. Others I recall with only vehemence. There are some people I know I want to keep. I guess to some extent I am certain of those few because of the histories we have. They're the kind of people you may not see in a long while, people you may not even talk to in forever but nonetheless people you are comfortable returning to and carrying on as if nothing has changed.
So I suppose there are a lot more things to work on with people you get to know intimately (a strong word I know but quite fitting methinks) in a short period of time. Rather than letting them grow on you and letting shared experiences speak for themselves, it is a whirlwind romance. And I do often get caught up in such moments of excitement. But these flames they kinda dwindle and fade. Which is really...kinda upsetting when you put in so much to fan the fire and keep it going.
You know, giving up breathing so that all the oxygen goes into keeping the dream alive. Something cheesy like that, haha.

I'm not sure what's the point of all of the above melancholy. But it is a melancholy I keep like a pearl on the tongue of an oyster. Extremely long post of teeny words. And stupid blogger still doesn't let me post pictures !!!!!!! Maybe a move to lj or wordpress is on the cards, haha.
On a random side note, I'm glad I went back for liv on sunday. I'm still not completely at ease with everyone, I'm not that person anyway, but I had a very good time singing, seeing mark being extremely hyper and getting my eardrums busted by cheryl on keyboard. On another side note, hector has a really good voice and I am jealous.

Garfield minus Garfield. Revealing Jon Arbuckle's existential angst. Wow, the above sounds so much like me. So is the decision to stop making decisions a wrong decision ?
Two steps forward, three steps back. Trust me, I get it. In fact, I got it the first of the 23948230 times I was told. Of course I'm sure that your level of 'I-don't-give-a-crap' kinda equals my level of 'Who-gives-a-rat's-ass'.
The 1101st post. Am feeling crabby. Must be pms.. On the plus side, I borrowed Mitch Albom's For One More Day and J.M. Coetzee's Disgrace (which I've always seen on the kino shelves and felt enticed to read it).
I think I am like Ted Moseby. Crazy, pretentious kinda, kinda cheesy and a hopeless romantic. I know the Robins of the world and the Barneys (I'm talking gay people.. Don't know many 'players' haha).. But where are the Marshalls ! He's goofy and he believes in the Loch Ness monster (which is so cute, his belief, not the mythical underwater gentle giant) and he wants to save the environment (+8578 points, level up !) and he's still fun with a sound moral compass.

I am so tempted to watch Video Games Live. Arnie Roth !
I've taken to jogging lately because a friend of mine keeps insinuating that I'm fat. Cough. I am obviously not appreciated for who I am (i.e. voracious eating habits and being the ultimate sloth). Meh. But I've stuck to it so far, three times a week. Hope I can keep it up. And yes, a good start would be my father sponsoring a new pair of running shoes. Ho hum.
Sometimes I get weird random thoughts. Like wow, it's so weird being me. Why am I me ? Why am I not someone else ? I'll only ever get to know what being me is like. I am the sum of my thoughts and no one else know what I think. I am weird. Yeah, utterly odd and random..
Luckily I opted for shorts instead of jeans or my long skirt. Had field class today and our route was hot and long. I usually love field trips but yikes, 80 people at one go is a baaaaaad idea. Still, LXX is amusing. Not that I could understand him half the time though.
I watched Sweeney Todd. I loved the minimal use of colour and the orchestra ! But it really could do with subtitles. Wasn't sure of what they were singing half the time. I think I should watch Borat.
We're all too passive. And I hate that I am too. Mostly because I think people tend to underestimate me and write me off as normal and average and blah. Un-special. I don't know. But something needs to be done, there isn't enough time.
Sometimes I wish I would care about such stuff as much as I care about schoolwork.

On the 14th of the 3rd month of 2009 at 1930, Gerald and I had a good chat.
HAHA. It was nice of him to have us over. Even if he did force us to watch Kill Bill. But luckily, there was power outage due to the large thunderstorm 20 minutes or so into the film. We took it as a sign to stop watching. Haha, much too gory for me.. Howard and Gpt played some battling game. Then Howard fell asleep, lols, and Gerald played some soul excalibur whilst I read Seventeen. Jingkang just spent the whole day playing the guitar. It was really a dreary, lazy saturday with the perfect weather to nap. It was fortunate to have a steamboat dinner (and the dining table to ourselves, thank you mrs tan !) seeing as how I only get steamboat for cny.. Mmmms it was neverending mushrooms, pork and fish I tell you.. Howard had left before dinner so the rest of the evening/night was spent watching youtube (BUFFALAXED !!!), talking and listening to jingkang play qing fei de yi about a million and one times. Yup. Oh and almost getting into serious trouble on the slope on the way out. Ahem gerald.
Ayes, neverending amount of work. But ah, motivation where art thou ! And I haven't seen pten since the mraz concert, they are missed. :(

I'm toying with the idea of starving for the cheapest Yamagata tickets. After all, I have many pounds to shed. I actually dreamt that my muscle to fat ratio was 1:5.
