Facebook chat with Matt. It's been more than half a year since the london sinfonietta was here with flat-e.. And I only got to hang out with them a few hours before they had to leave. Gosh, he's still so fun to talk to. :D He really doesn't sound like he's 30. Which local guy would suggest handstands in the park ! I'd love such spontaneous irreverence.. I must head to london one day for one of their crazy bonfires maybe ? Heh..
Our class outing was pretty fun after all but it ended on a low note. As always, lols. The breeze up on that hill was nice though :)
Shucks, work is piling up ! Must read my hydrology textbook, prepare for sustainability tutorial, 3 learning portfolio write ups, homrong assignment.. Must start this weekend ! Pah.
Revolutionary Road has been a great read so far. I bought it for 13 bucks, HAHAHAH :D

Ramble ramble ramble.
That's it. Nice just isn't good enough. Oh as I know myself and always say, for all the wrong reasons. I think of one of the last few books of a series of unfortunate events where the clock in hotel denouement chimed wrong every hour. It's almost 2am now. WRONG WRONG. It's written everywhere and don't I know it. Yet when have I stopped doing things my way just knowing they weren't the best things ? I don't like being told.
Watched Wild Child just now.. Talk about setting fire to the galley and dancing on the burning deck. Okay, so it isn't really dancing. It's more titanic meets towering inferno and we all know what happens when 'My Heart Will Go On' starts to play. A dizzying (and I guess altogether unpleasant) ride indeed. :( Belle belle is that deja vu you feel ! Sugar we're going down..

Watched Breakfast at Tiffany's today. It's so charming and beautiful ! Quite a few sad parts.. The above is one of my favourite scenes from early in the film where she climbs up the fire escape to avoid one of her dates and asks to crawl into bed beside Paul/Fred since they're friends. It showed her vulnerability despite her feisty personality and her need for security (other than monetary) outside the rats and super-rats that she knew. Ahhhh... And the last few scenes with the rain and Cat and the outburst from Paul. Ahhhhh :) Audrey Hepburn is absolutely gorgeous. :) Holly Golightly is dramatic and impish and beautiful.. Paul/Fred is a handsome one too ! Hurhur. I might get the dvd if it isn't too expensive mmms.. Roman Holiday next !

But nooooooooo. I must bitch about the stupid system that my tutor put in place. Tutorial slots are first come first served and she said 6pm today. I tell you, I was refreshing ivle like for an hour. And then I gave up and am now waiting for midnight but the fact is that I don't know when she's putting it up and I bloody want to sleep ! Omgahwtfbbqlah.
AND AND to make me more annoyed, I can't download scrubs !!! Wth. :((((((( ANNOYED TO THE CORE. Very cranky. Sick and tired and I can't cheer self up. And am not being cheered up. And even tetris is not helping ! Grr. Cough/sore throat seems to be chronic. Maybe I'll see the doctor on monday.

Nick is leaving, I am honestly sad. (I must make sure he sees this) He's probably the liv person I warmed up to the fastest apart from aaron. And and, he's always been very retardedly funny and generous with lifts on his van. Awww.. He must get skype so that I will have more than 1 skype friend !!!
School has started. I intend to be a better student. I will try harder. In any case I have to with 2 unexaminable modules. Am also in need of exercise. Bukit Timahhhhhh anyone ? Speaking of which, I DIDN'T DO A SINGLE THING I SET OUT TO DO IN THE HOLS !!! I didn't climb bukit timah during the summer hols or during the previous winter hols (funny that am using seasons since we only kinda have hot, hotter, rainy, rainier), didn't go cycling (even though bicycle tires are flat no more ! some people just refuse to learn -.-), didn't overhaul my room, didn't clear my closet, didn't learn how to use my slr... WHAT IS THIS !? Grooooan.
And I still have zkai's, cherr's and jianqi's christmas cards. Funny ah.

Jesus took the wheel. Twice.
Thank God ! For Kangfucius, Nick, Gideon, Mark, Jasper, Yuklum and I survived Penang ! Quite literally. Talk about near death experiences. And I don't mean the heavenly food, haha.
Was quite skeptical at first because these aren't the folks that I'm closest to but I thought, school's starting so what the hell. Proved to be quite a trip. 7 of us, 2 beds and a couch. Considering the colourful personalities, we got along pretty fine. Gideon was our dad really. He bought food for us, forced us to wake up in the morning, drove us around, showed us the sights.. Hurhur. They're right when they say that people go to penang for the food. Gosh, the different char kway teows that we ate.. Curry mee, ah pong, kway teow tng, penang laksa.. Not forgetting Nando's and A&W (which I seem to always eat in M'sia haha woots !) and the wanton mee that Jasper didn't share ! Hrmphs. Not forgetting our 1.5hour drive to TAMBUN and our SGD9 PER PAX SEAFOOD ! :DDD Damn, should've ordered more crab..
Definitely notable were the beach (batu ferringi), Penang Hill (bukit bandera) and the random tiny waterfall (titi kerawang). I wouldn't really call them very touristy but they just remind me of how much I enjoy nature like that. (:
For me, quiet is relative to the 6 noisy people I went with. And is in no way any indication of how much I enjoyed the trip. There were definitely some scary, sobering moments.. I don't know if this makes us closer (since we shared er bed and bathroom and all) but I'm glad I went ayes.

Back to reality. School's starting in a blink and it's going to be one hell of a busy term. Because I say so. I hope so. Right now am just annoyed because I don't feel well enough to be with the rest of pten. Shall see them for dinner ! And am craving tasty food. Mmmms..

It is actually past midnight but I opened this page when it was January 1st still so.. Hurhur. Here are some resolutions I probably won't keep but am making anyway.
1. STUDY TEN TIMES HARDER. Must inch towards my cap of four. Must try to be consistently conscientious.
2. LOSE (some) WEIGHT. Next to impossible given the fact that I love food. But will strive to avoid fast food unless absolutely necessary.
3. REMAIN CLOSE TO FRIENDS. Especially pten since we hardly see each other !
4. DEVELOP MUSICALLY. In terms of repertoire and confidence..
5. THINK. Do less stupid, shooting-myself-in-the-foot stuff and make better, wiser choices.
6. ENRICH MYSELF. Spend time reading more, so that I will think more. Or maybe learning how to drive..
7. SAVE MONEY. Like a seriously. So that I can go overseas !
8. GROW UP. And so I will turn 21. May I accept the realities I cannot change and yet never forget to dream..
9. MAKE TIME FOR FAMILY. Enough said.
10. LET GOD BE MY STEERING WHEEL. And not my spare tyre. Do what Thou wilt. And I obey. I pray...
