Enjoy Life............. Whilst You Can

Good morning everyone.
I am sitting here at my window looking out on a really cold and dreary day. What happened to the sunshine???
Oh well, it meant that my project for the Left of Centre Challenge actually got completed instead of being late ......... again
I have used the image from Rick St Dennis called The Crazy Queen of Hearts. Also in the Etsy shop for instant download here.

I made a card (for a change)

I coloured our Queen using promarkers and graph-it pens
using papers from stash - that base paper has been sitting on the shelf for longer than I can remember! The main piece is from BoBunny's Enchanted collection. Lace from stash.

The "Heads" that roll when The Queen of Hearts gets into a mood - they are by Stampotique. Stamped onto pearlised paper and mounted onto a flowery diecut

"Enjoy Life" stamp from Visible Image's Time After Time collection. Stamped with white to ensure the red embossing didn't get lost in the black

The rest of the sentiment is going to read "Whilst You Can" when I get the printer working

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge at

Drop Dead Gorgeous at HDH

Week 2 of the challenge over at Haunted Design House and the rest of my fellow minions have been showing some gorgeous makes, Drop Dead Gorgeous that is. I am part of "team B". The team that reminds you to get a move on because you only have another 6 days to get your entry into the challenge. Well - what are you waiting for?
My project? - A fat book page from me - and a good excuse for me to get my Stampotique stamps out of the drawer they reside in.
Two mermaids. I realised, after talking with my son that the duo can be viewed in at least two ways. I saw them as a live one cradling the head of her dead companion, my son saw it as her throttling the life out of her. Both scenarios fit the theme. Do you see something different?
The mermaids were stamped then coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out and joining. Then the couple were brushed with rock candy and set aside to dry while I made the base. This gives the slightly scaly look to them.
Some aluminium tape was trimmed to a wavy edge before sticking onto the 4" x 4"card base. Some glimmer mists type spray in green, lilac and midnight silver on the card and alcohol inks on the tape before running through with a crackle embossing folder. Some green flocking on some of the raised crackle to give the impression of seaweed. Some green mesh ribbon and we're ready for our stars. The green "air bubbles" are a mixture of green patina stickles and blue distress stickles - slightly less glitz was wanted.

Your turn - as I said - you have 6 days more to get those "Drop Dead Gorgeous"  projects linked into the challenge over at Haunted Design House.

day 6 of Smeared and Smudged 12 days of Christmas

I would be more organised if the internet would behave itself. Or rather the weather. That isn't about to happen any time soon so will have to work around it.
Anyway.... we've reached the half-way mark with day 6. woo - hoo.
Today's project is something that will find it's way into all the stockings of those big and not so big kids.
Snowman Soup!!

I've made up a few so far but have a few more to do.

I've used a discontinued Stampotique snowman, Coloured the image, scanned it and then made into a .png image so that I could add the text and print out loads all at once. Cut out then added just a touch of icicle stickles for that bit of shine.
All packed in a mug then sealed in a sandwich bag. Really simple and loved by my lot.
contents of the cup are
Couple sachets instant hot chocolate
little mini marsh mallows
candy cane

Now don't forget the other bloggers - list over there on the right
See you on tues
Take care

blue Christmas

Snow cones and snowflakes for Stamp It Crazy. Well as long as the snow is on a card, I don't mind. Living in Scotland, we've sure had our share of snow this year. It's piled up here everywhere and with temps touching on -20C it's cold as well :(
Anyway, onto the card.....
An easel card with snowflakes on the paper, one of those freebies from last year and I can't remember the source. I think it was crafty companions. The snowman with his head knocked off is stampotique to which I added just a dusting of pale blue promarker and sparkle and a fibre scarf.
The snowflake was made by threading "a few" seed beads onto thin wire and stitched onto the card then a couple of peel off snowflakes.

The base has a topper from a RAK "Winter Wishes" mounted onto sticky pads and 6 little homemade snow cones using more of the BP and some crackle beads and a couple of little pompoms. The ribbon was rescued from a box of chocs. All mounted onto a hammered white card stock.

I am entering this into the challenge over at Stamp It Crazy - Snowflakes and snow cones challenge
Also the City Crafter Challenge - Let It Snow
The Crafty Purple Frog have an Easel card challenge so I'm entering this in that as well
