But thank goodness I am smart (well not really) and was able to figure it out to make this little puppy:

look at him isn't he adorable!! I love create a critter is my FAVORITE!!!

Well that was FUN, when was the last time you used your cricut? I have so many cartridges I really need to get in there and use it more often. Now that I sort of got the hang of it again I am gonna try and use it more often so I don't forget LOL

CWC Taste of Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to Cooking with Cricut Taste of Summer Blog Hop!!
If you came from Court's Craft Corner  you are heading the right direction. If not stop by CWC site so you can get on hoping along! Today's hop is all about the "flavors" of summer. Being a California girl the best part of summer here is all the fresh fruit!! LOOOVEEE stopping by my favorite corner stand and picking up some fresh strawberries, watermelon or cherries, nothing beats fresh fruit on a hot summer day! Nothing except of course ICE CREAM!!!

With that in mind I created today's project. I wanted to capture all the "flavors" I love, but I would have ended up with a dozen cards LOL so I opted to make a few mini cards that can be used as tags or as mini cards for different occasions.

I used Doodle Charms cartridge for the ice cream and watermelon, I used preserves for the strawberries and the lime wedge. The lime wedge was actually supposed to be a watermelon slice, but I wanted to make a lemon slice to use as a tag for a margarita gift set, so I just change the colors and made it a LIME, loved how it turned out. The shiny accents are liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by! Now head on over Janet's Blog and check out the delicious summer project she has for you. Have an awesome weekend!

CWC Cartridge Showcase: Nates ABC

Welcome to another edition of  Cooking with Cricut cartridge showcase!!!  This time around I am showing you some projects using the stylish and very boy-chic NATE"S ABC

This cartridge is full of cute and stylish images that are geared for boy projects. However, you can always substitute the blues on some of those and make the cutest girl themed projects as well. Since I have a handsome little boy and no girls, I opted to stay with the boyish theme colors, I really like the color palette they used on the sample images, very subtle and cuuuuute!

For my first card I used the cute little snail and created an easel card.

For this project my son got to pick the colors and since green is his favorite color we went with different shades of green.  For this one I used the doggy treats title, but since the cut only has one color for both words, I cut the phrase 3 times and manually cut the letters so I could use the different shades of green.

For my second card I wanted to make it girly but still stay with the color scheme of the cartridge.  I used a bright orange as the accent color and used a flowery background from Imaginisce to add a little girlish flair.

Thank you for stopping by, hope you enjoyed the projects I brought for you. Please feel free to share your projects using this gorgeous cartridge.

CWC Weekly Challenge - It's HOT Outside!

Welcome to another edition of CWC's weekly challenge. This week we are getting our gear ready for some fun in the sun! Although I am not a big fan of fishing my husband and son love to go and fish for hours when the weather is nice. I prefer to kayak around or sit in a shady place and read a good book. But this card is not for me so I digress......

I created the phrase using It's a Beach cartridge. I cut the same phrase 4 times with different papers and then manually cropped different parts of it to mix the different papers. The ribbon and fishy are from an old collection, I have all kinds of cute matching items for it, but for the life of me and I cannot find the designer.... sigh. I used "skittles" which are colored little plastic beads to look like water bubbles. The background papers are from Echo Park's Paradise Beach and This and That Graceful collections.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me some bloggy love!!

Cooking With Cricut Blog Hop ~ Jen's Birthday!!

Welcome to the second day of the CWC and Paper Crafting World Designers June Blog Hop. If you are coming from Melissa's blog you are in the right place. If you are stopping by to check out my blog today make sure to head on over to CWC page so you can begin the hop and join us in our celebration of Jen's Birthday.

This month our hop theme is all about Birthdays and we have a special one this month. Our wonderful DT Coordinator Jen Hudson’s birthday just happened to fall on Saturday so we decided to make birthday inspired projects with a “Jen” theme in mind. Our go to gal is a die-hard Florida Gator Fan. So we decided to use elements on our projects that reflected Our GATOR FOR LIFE Gal’s FANCY; Florida, The Florida Gators and anything that would make you think of the Sunshine State. Jen is the last on our blog line up so be sure to hop through and leave her some extra special love at the end!

Happy Birthday Jen!!!!

For my project I used the cake and banner from the JUST A NOTE cartridge. For the birthday phrase I used the CRICUT ALPHABET font. I did not use an alligator here, instead I opted for her team colors: orange and blue.

Be sure to head over to CWC leave a comment for a chance to win some great blog candy! Now on to your next stop Court Craft Corner.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

CWC #91: 1st Day of Summer

Welcome Summer! Here in northern California we have been having HOT weather for a few weeks now, but  today is the official first day of summer. At COOKING WITH CRICUT we are celebrating cricut style!

For today's occasion we bring you our favorite summer activities.

So what is summer without a BBQ or a Carne Asada like we call it at home. For this card I used 3 birds on parade. It was so easy to make because all of it is one feature of the card. You get the super cute birdie and a matching phrase all in one.

Thank you for stopping by! don't forget to check CWC for a wonderful list of inspiration from the other design team members.

Have a wonderful first day of summer!

Head and over to Cooking with Cricut post to learn more about Brandon and join us in sending him a little bit of love and put a smile on his beautiful face.

Here is the card I created for him:

The cute little dino is from the create a critter cartridge. I used my cuttle bug to emboss and washi tape, ribbons and buttons to decorate. The inside reads: you're Dino-mite!!

Cooking with Cricut Challenge

Happy Wednesday!! I can't believe Easter is just around the corner. I started doing my Easter cards in February and here we are four days from the holiday and I am still mailing some out.
Here is my card for this week:

For my Challenge this week I used the EASTER cartridge. I really like the theme carts for cards because most of them already have cards set for you, they are great for whenever I need to whip a  last minute card. With the EASTER cartridge you can decorate your whole Easter party using just this cartridge as it has all your basic cuts and then some, it even has a cute little basket! So what are your plans for Easter?

Sunday is not only Easter in our house we also celebrate 2 of sister's birthday, can we say PARTEEE!

Happy Birthday Jeni and Brenda!!

4Seasons Themed Swap

Ok.. I know I been MIA for a little bit, I am trying to catch up with my postings. Even though I was not posting much I was still busy creating! Here is another set I did for a swap. This was a 4 Seasons themed swap. Again, I used the 3birds cart (I love it, can't get enough of the cute little birs). Both this one and the themed swap are due by the end of the month, Can't wait to see what other's have done.

Cricut Theme Swap

I am part of a couple of swaps over at the Cricut MB- One of them is a themed die cut Swap. Here are the two die cuts I did for this swap. I had two spots one on the BABY category and one on the SPORTS category. I used 3Birds on Parade cartridge for both of these.

This is one of my favorite projects from Monique. I did this book from one of her kits. It comes with everything you need to make the book. The paper from Imaginisce is sooo cute!

Lambda TShirts

Here is a sample of one of the shirts I did for my sisters. This is the first project I did using SCAL. I used SCAL to trace and cut the siloutte in the back, it came out very nice and was easy to cut. Love SCAL now. The tricky part for iron on letter is to remember to cut them in the mirror image mode. I had to made about 15 of these so it was a challenge but I think they turned out CUTE!
