Fall Scrapbook Retreat 2016: October 14-16

We're so excited for today's announcement and know you will be too. Save the date for our upcoming Fall Scrapbooking Retreat at Peshtigo River Resort in Crivitz, Wisconsin. We can't wait to experience the gorgeous scenery and have a relaxing, fun, and crafty weekend. Won't you join us?

Our group will be scrapbooking in the Black Bear Hall, a new 5,400 square foot facility. The space includes:

• 24 hour access
• 9 large bay windows providing natural lighting
• Commercial kitchen with cookware and dinnerware 
• Fireplace and seating area
• Bathrooms
• Bar and snack area with additional fridge
• Coat room and office
• Audio system and small television 

Groups of 4 (to 6 if desired) will occupy waterfront condos near the hall. Each has a unique theme and offers a spectacular view of the Peshtigo River. For larger groups, hotel-style connecting units are available, creating a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. Please note, Creations Galore will make arrangements for and combine individuals and groups smaller than 4.

Condo amenities include: 

• Bedrooms with 1 king or queen bed and 2 twin beds
• Pull out couch in living room
• Full kitchen with dinnerware and cookware
• Private patio 
• Wifi internet, TV, DVD and VHS players
• Movies, games, and puzzles
• Central air conditioning and heating
• Linens and towels

Spring Scrapbook Retreat 2016 - 3 Weekends Available

We're excited to finally bring you the details of our upcoming Spring Scrapbook Retreat. We've been hard at work finding the perfect spot, picking dates, designing a kit, and more to make it a unique and enjoyable experience. This spring we have not one, not two, but THREE weekends to choose from and have added an extra night to each. It's going to be our greatest retreat yet. 

The Spring Scrapbook Retreat will take place at Posie Patch Retreat in Suamico, Wisconsin, just north of our store in Green Bay. The studio has 2,500 square feet of space to create. Pull your vehicle right up to the door for quick and easy unloading. There are lots of windows and bright lighting. When you're not crafting away, relax in the comfortable sleeping quarters. The studio and house are connected, allowing you to stay under one roof. There is space for just 15 guests each weekend, allowing for more personalized attention from us, your host. 

Retreat Amenities:

• 6 foot table
• Padded, adjustable rolling task chair
• OTT HD lamp
• Trash can
• Fully equipped kitchen and living room
• Snack bar with second fridge, coffee maker, pizza oven, and microwave
• Dining area for 16
• Lounge area in studio with TV with cable and DVD player
• Wifi throughout
• Use of Cricut and Cricut Expression machines (bring personal cartridges and cutting mat)
• Iron and ironing board

Retreat Fee of $170 Includes:

Paper Trails Tour: Shabby Journal Workshop with Eileen Hull

Sizzix and Clearsnap designer Eileen Hull is headed out on the Paper Trail once again, visiting stores, sharing her products, and teaching classes along the way. We're excited to announce Creations Galore as one of her many stops. You'll even get a tour of her trailer, Scotty!

Join us Tuesday, September 22nd for a Shabby Journal Workshop. Eileen will help you create a beautiful journal from the versatile Passport Book die. The die features an adjustable binding so you can make it as large or small as you'd like. 

How gorgeous is that cover?! In the workshop, you'll learn how to construct the book, cover matboard with burlap, add texture, dye custom seam binding, and create beautiful tissue paper flowers. 

Eileen's ColorBox Blends inks set the palette for this versatile mini album. You will learn lots of tips and tricks for working with ScoreBoards dies, and go home with a journal filled with inky techniques and backgrounds. Bring your camera along too! There will be vintage suitcases filled with inspirational samples. 

Your $68 class fee will include:

• 3 hours of instruction with designer Eileen Hull

• Access to all the dies and tools to create the journal and contents
• RENDR paper and Chalkboard for base of journal

Event Recap: Your Craft Rummage Sale July 2015

This past Saturday, we held our semi-annual rummage sale. We can't thank all of our vendors and customers enough for the successful day. We welcomed 27 customer vendors selling their new and used scrapbooking and card making supplies, tools, and organizational pieces. With 50 shoppers lined up at the door at 10:00 AM, it was a great day for everyone! 

Creations Galore is honored to host these sales every year, bringing like minded individuals together. Whatever your reason for selling items, from style changes, evolving in your craft, or simply having leftover product, we're happy to connect you with crafty individuals looking for great deals. 

Not only were there great sales at the vendor tables, but customers enjoyed a discount inside our store. The pick your own discount gave 5-40% off all regular priced items, with additions to our clearance section. We can't forget Joe's Texas BBQ outside serving brisket, hot link, pulled pork, and (our favorite!) chicken sandwiches. Oh... Were we in heaven. Did you stop by their food truck?

You may recognize that cutie below from Saturday's sale. Nicole's adorable assistant (and daughter of our owner Kathy) was rocking the demo table, showing how to use the Fuse Tool and Chameleon Markers. Customers could try both items and even take home a small shaker pocket. 

We did unfortunately hear a few complaints about vendors packing up their tables early this year and want to apologize to anyone who came later in the day to find less to shop. We believe the heat was a huge factor - Our air conditioner didn't stop all day, but with the extra high temps outside and the large amount of people inside, it made for a muggy environment. We've taken note of this and plan to promote the sale ending at an earlier time during the July sales. We appreciate your feedback and are working hard to make every event at Creations Galore the best it can be.

Haven't heard of Your Craft Rummage Sale? This semi-annual event is held inside our store with each vendor renting a six foot table to show off their items. Each Customer Vendor will price their items and receive payment individually. We recommend bringing cash as you'll pay at each table for the items you wish. It's like 28 mini sales in one place! 

The rummage sale will take place from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the store staying open until 4:00 PM. Shop Creations Galore for a great sale - Pick Your Own Discount. You'll pick a discount of 5-40% off all regular priced items. The store will have markdowns and clearance products. You'll also enjoy some fun giveaways, including the chance to win a month membership to our Creations Club.

Event Recap: NSD Overnight Crop

In honor of National Scrapbooking Day, we had an overnight crop with a storewide sale and stayed open for 30 hours! It's our favorite holiday, and we know how to celebrate.

The sold out crop lasted a full 30 hours with at least 8 ladies staying overnight along with us. Call us crazy, but lots of pages were made, fun was had, and food was eaten. It was a great time. Here's a look at this year's event:

Friends gathered to create, and new friends were made. We take pride in being a place for like-minded individuals to gather together and create. It's the perfect atmosphere to gain a friend or ten. All ages and backgrounds came together for this event. 

There was a nice mixture of both scrapbookers and card makers. It may have been National SCRAPBOOKING Day, but we don't turn away paper-lovers of any kind. 

The NEW Fuse Tool from We R Memory Keepers was the focus of Friday night's demo. Nicole shared eight projects, took answers, and showed off this great tool - Alter page protectors and make pockets and shaker cards. Crop attendees were given a chance to try out the tool for themselves.

We did not go without food. Snacks and coffee were always available, with a delicious dinner, breakfast, and lunch. Paper Crafters need fuel to keep going!

Prizes were also in abundance. We gave away new products from our favorite manufacturers, such as We R Memory Keepers, Heidi Swapp, Project Life, and American Crafts.

Thanks again to everyone who attended the Crop or shopped the NSD Sale. We couldn't do it without you. Here's a personal note from our manage Lori about the weekend:

"I came in a bit early this morning (Monday) to start the clean up from our 30 hour scrap and to prepare for six other women who were coming in at 10:00 to scrap today. On my way to work I thought how nice it would have been to stay at home, wishing my back wasn't giving me problems from sleeping wrong and making the list in my head of all the things that needed to be cleaned up and put back together at work. None of those things brought a smile to my face. (Not the normal me!) As I turned on the lights and walked through the store, I didn't hear the sound of laughter and singing, the ladies talking about various happenings in their lives, or the sweetness in meeting someone for the first time and making a new friend. As I took care of the garbage and picked up scraps of paper and embellishments too big for the vacuum cleaner, I realized those pieces were the leftovers of pictures and memories that were cut to fit the perfect spot on pages of remembered times - birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, loved ones who are no longer with us. It brought a proud moment and a smile to my face that Creations Galore, the place I call home six days a week, is a very special place. That's why we are here."
