Memory boards

Helllo everyone!
I have a fun project to share with you today!
(warning, picture heavy post below!)
A friend asked me to make a memory board for her mother's funeral.
She sent me a couple pictures, and I was off.

We wanted a very vintage feel, so I printed the pictures out in black and white, and noir,
For the board on the back I used a scrabble board.
I had lots and lots of them leftover from my wedding four years ago,
and this was a perfect opportunity to use one.
I painted it brown, but made sure that it wasn't so dark that you couldn't still see the board.
Then I used Tim Holtz wood grain stencil to add a little texture.
Then I went to town with some tags.
I assembled the flowers from a pack of Prima flowers, with a brad in the middle,
then I added some bits and pieces from bo bunny, a bunch of used postage stamps.
On this tag I added a Tim Holtz metal word phrase, a butterfly punch, and below you'll see an assortment of ephemera.
More estate sale and fun other finds added to the different tags.
This was a fun project, and I even did a second board for her brother.
In the bottom left hand corner you can see (hopefully)
where I added the years of her life, 1923 - 2015.

It was very similar.
I have to say this was a fun project that really pushed me to use up some of
the fun bits that I have in the craft room.
I hope you have found some inspiration, and if you are interested in ordering your own
memory board please feel free to contact me, I would be happy to make one for you as well!
