Spellbinder's Turtle and Ice Resin Copper Mixed Media Necklace using the Roll Mill " You Gotta Keep Swimming" and a few Beach Pics of the Summer

I started off making a tutorial for what someone had asked me to do.......but it lead into this...so much for the tutorial...well that's next I'm guessing??
This is the Spellbinder's Turtle it is brass, which I hammered and added the copper shell that was sent thru the roll mill. The base is copper 22 gauge and has molten solder that has been stamped into for the texture. The bezel cup has Ice Resin with shards of sea glass. The baby turtle also from Spellbinder's I added a copper shell to his back that was hammered and soldered on.
Another view of the turtle necklace

Here you can see the shell better of the turtle

A good view of the Ice resin
Some beads that a dear friend gave me.

Me once I finished the necklace I couldn't wait to show my family so I snapped a pic to start showing them. This was before the liver of sulfur.

My granddaughter came to stay with us for two weeks!!! It was fun!!
We tried to take her fun places that everyone could enjoy.
I am trying to sneak a few pics in on my yields from the garden!! All I can say is WOW!! It must be all the rain. I have canned tomatoes, salsa, blueberry jam, pickles....not to mention the freezer items.
My sunflowers have once again amazed me with their beauty!
                                                                 A Hipstamatic pic!
The butterflies have been so beautiful and vibrant on the buddleia this year.
Of course we have spent ALOT of time at the beach, OBX. The boys really enjoy it and glamp all weekend each and every weekend we can at our glamper!
Colby works really hard to master Skim boarding....he does an excellent job!
Crystal came back home to pick up Skylar after her two weeks of vacation at camp grandma's.
Skylar liked the sand...right in the mouth, lol!
Love the action shots Dusty gives me.
Leaving the beach, Uncle Cody toted Skylar back to the car.

We go fishing every chance we can......the boys have really enjoyed that each and every year more and more.
I hope you are having a fabulous summer!!!!
Enjoy it while it is here!!
Skylar by the pool!
I try to take the boys to the pool as much as possible each day.

Today is the first day Bruce has been able to work on the oven...I can't wait.
I had made this lo for the November Imaginisce Blog Challenge. Well with the illness here it was late...it was due November 25th. Oh well I had a blast making it. Do you know it has been since March that I have made a layout??? Can you believe it?  With all the altered projects and teaching layouts have just not been on the front row....but it felt good!! The wonderful little skecth is from Melinda Spinks   her blog is  http://thescrapfarm.blogspot.com/ check it out AMAZING!!! The challenge to use 75% Imaginisce well I covered that it is 100% Imaginisce except for the use of Spellbinders and Cricut and Copics.
All the pp is Imaginisce and the tiny bling on the reindeer's nose in the lead is the I-Rock I colored the rhinestone and then heated worked perfect. I used R29 Copic marker. The reindeers were all colored in with Copic markers. The girl reindeer has a tiny bone punch for a bow on her ear Copics and stickles.  I inked the pp slightly with  Tim Holtz Ranger inks. The doodles I did myself with Uniball Signa white pen.....love that pen! The title is a rub-on from Imaginisce. The Spellbinder nestablities made into an ornament using the ribbon from Imaginisce. The music notes I cut from the Cricut using my Gypsy in several sizes from the Disney Hannah Montana Cart. Love em...I can just hear and feel the music the boys were making..... The journal tag is Imaginisce and reads Dear Santa, We love our drums. Pa rum pum pum pum. Pa rum pum pum pum pum. Oh I just love it. GROW Altered Wall Hanging

Hello all, I hope this Monday has been a beautiful day for you and yours. I have been wanting to post this for about two weeks now. It is an altered wall hanging using a canvas turned around backwards like a shadow box. I painted the inside and the frame using acrylic paints. Then I added Webster's pp Nature's StoryBook:Grow Dreams. Using Tattered Angels glimmer mist sprayed on pp using the dragonfly screen and the tree screen. The grow letters are Rusty Pickle...I tore the cardboard off and used Tim Holtz crackle paints and applied a thin coat to them, and some ink. The lace around the frame is Prima Elegant Lace. The bumble bee, the dragonfly and two flowers on the alphas are SpellBinder's using the Wizard die cutting system, the dragonfly has a coat of Alcohol inks, the bumble bee is cut from Cosmo Cricket pp and inked. The blue flower is cut from handmade paper that me and the boys made one day..what a blast and they still will bring it up whenever I use it in a project. The pot is made using a crackle paint chip from the hardware store, using the SpellBinder's diecut.

The flowers on the outside of the frame are made using the SpellBinder's Sunflower die cut I cut the flower out then folded it into 1/8ths using the Tim Holtz tiny attacher (love this) stapled it on one side then attached to the homemade floral wire (I used to teach flower arranging for our local community college many many years ago) Yes I still have all my stuff....I know I get fussed at, about it all the time. Sprayed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist and wallah.....a flower vine. The leaves are SpellBinder's too. TFL!!! Thanks and Have a WONDERFUL afternoon. Dawn

Sing It's Spring Card

Hello I know I have been not posting as much as I always do but heres the scoop....I have had my same laptop since 2006, well I have dumped my pics into an external hardrive and I still was out of room, well not only that, my computer has been on life support...no joke here since last year. The screen went out on it, so I had to hook it up to a old heavy monitor then one day I let Cooper watch A Bug's Life by Disney which I purchased for him from I-Tunes and bam he decided to tear the keys up on the laptop, in like less than five minutes. Well hubby brought home a keyboard that evening for me. Since it really is OLD in computer lives....early 2006. It was so slow and some sites I couldn't even go on or leave comments because I couldn't add anything else to it. So now hopefully hubby will take the hints and get me a new computer!!!! Anywhoooo I am uploading a project I did using SpellBinder's, I used the circle Scallops Nestibilities and took the smallest sizes and ran thru the wizard, and fan folded the one circle, then fan folded the same size five times and then folded them over to create the one flower, glue together each side, use a thinner paper it really works best than the thicker ones. Everything is SpellBinders, the cardstock is Bazzill. The bling in the middle of the flowers are Prima. The stamps are Studio G (the ones you get for a buck)I jsut love that. I began stamping in the early 90's and there was no such thing a $1 stamp, they were all wood mounted, sometimes you get get the rubbers at a rubber stamp show and stick them on any wood piece you could get. I still have all these stamps, and love using them...but I do love scrapping my pics. I try to incorporate more stamps into my los....any way gotta go Dusty is crying..woke up out of his sleep.. take care, Dawn

This is a little card I made using the SpellBinder's Circle Nestabilities dies. The fish and the seahorse are also SpellBinder's. The inside say Have a Fintastic Day! I sewed up the inside and outside using
yellow thread and red in the bobbin, which had a great effect on the colors of the card. The pp are Cosmo Cricket...love this line!! TFL!! Have a WONDERFUL DAY!!! Winter ~Rusty Pickle~

January Sketch

Good Morning all, I made this one for the January Rusty Pickle sketch. See the Rusty Pickle Blog http://rustypickle.typepad.com/ for this months challenge there is always prizes in the monthly sketch challenge, I can't wait to see what you do.This months sketch is by the talented Sarah Carrington you can visit here Blog at http://smellyblog-slcarrington.blogspot.com/. Love the sketch thanks Sarah. Since the sketch is about winter, snow, sledding you know all the winter stuff. I picked these pics of my children from January 2001. We had a day off from school for this snow storm, which of course they loved that and with us living close to the coast of North Carolina snow is not something we have much of sooooo we love it when it does snow . This is a pic of my oldest 5, which now Jr. will be 23 in a few days, and the littlest one is Cody who is now 12. Time just goes way to quick, thank goodness we have cameras to capture these moments. Anyway......I used the Rusty Pickle Chocolates Bunnies line, and the Word Reel page for this lo with some good ole' cardboard and the blue is from Panama Jack . The W is from the cardboard letters from Rusty Pickle which are just fabulous!! The snowflakes at the bottom are from SpellBinders, layered. The rest of winter was made on the Cricut Gypsy welded together..love it!! Lots of distressing with scissors and paint. Thanks for looking and Have a Wonderful Day. Dawn
