my girls helping me cook

 monday morning we found this scene outside our front door

 once they had it on the ground they let our kids come for a closer look

 we canned peaches ALL day long

 this is what the kids did all day

 and this is what we got from it - 56 jars of peaches

 oscar had his first day of preschool and he got this new shirt because he loves robots

 maggie is so messy

 today we did half of our pears - 28 jars

 maggies is a bsu fan

 and super happy about it

first day of school

we have a tradition of getting the kids a gift on the morning of their first day.

charlie woke up to underwater flying machines

 and ali got a new t-shirt

 my big 2nd grader with mrs. bogdanoff

 4th grade for this stylish queen with mrs. roberts

 the little kids wanted to do numbers too so we decided to have them show us their age instead of grade

 off to school we go

 ali is in class with her friend sytara this year

 charlie is waiting to go into his class

this morning they all piled into my room the same time my alarm was going off and then all of a sudden we had a room full of dancers so excited to go to school today. it is going to be a great year, i can tell.

smones

ali was in charge of family night last night and this was her treat. it is a smores in a cone. ryan named it "smones" we love it. you should try it too.

 first fill up your cone with the good stuff

 wrap it in tin foil

 make sure it looks like a silver carrot

 be proud of your silver carrot like oscar is

 you are suppose to put them in a fire but because of the nasty air we did the bbq. only cook for a few minutes though

 unwrap and enjoy!

what a fun night and a yummy treat. it is not nearly as messy as the smores but tastes just as good.

back to school....for mom

That's right!!! I was recently accepted to be part of the Pathway Program through BYU-Idaho. It is all online and can take me all the way up to a Bachelors. I'm not sure what I will be studying yet and I don't need to choose until after the first year. I am so excited and nervous and scared all at the same time. This is a wonderful opportunity for me and our family.

Wish me luck, classes start September 13.

we were tired of looking at this:

 so we let the kids do this:

 they had so much fun

 livy worked wherever she wanted to but mostly on the top and on this side corner

 ali got front and center

 charlie got the next most viewable slot. he made a fireplace with a fire and a yellow wall because "all fireplaces have yellow walls behind them" he told me. i helped him paint a picture of him on that beautiful yellow wall.

 oscar was great and attacking the paint and putting it EVERYWHERE.

it was a really fun night and i am happy that we will have artwork to look at forever.

kids olympics 2012

last saturday we put together a neighborhood bbq along with olympic festivities for the kids

 here is our opening ceremonies with lighting of the torch

 we had 9 kids participating

 each kids had their own torch and they ran around the neighborhood to light the next torch

 hooray!!!!!

 each kids also made a flag and they marched down the street

 sydney & sawyer were a little behind

 first event: high jump

 second event: hammer throw (with water balloons)

 third event: archery

 with a water gun

 fourth event: hammer throw

 a water balloon in a plastic sack

 fifth event: javelin with staws (taped together)

 sixth event: relay race water balloon style

 we also played grass volleyball but i was participating so no pictures

 congratulations to all our participants. we had lost the 4 little ones by this time

 and root beer floats

 we had a few water balloons left over so ryan decided to attack the kids

 it was great fun

 miss livy spent about 20 minutes on this, she did such a great job

we had such a fun time, thanks ryan for putting so much time and thought into. the kids had a blast
