a CRAZY kid-filled day

Our day started at 7:00 when I got a phone call from a friend in the ward asking if I could watch their child so they could go to the hospital and have a baby. (Early congrats to Erika & Richard...I still haven't heard if he was born yet). Sure, what's one more kid??? I have reached a new record with a ratio of 1:7. So far, so good.
While I was feeding the crew Oscar was flashing me all sorts of funny faces. He just learned how to pucker for a kiss and do a fish face....I love it!
This one is my favorite. I only caught the tale end of the fish face, but it is still adorable. I love how big his eyes get.
Ali was in charge of Oscar for a few minutes. She ran to me and said, "mom, Oscar moves too much so come see what I did." Smart girl.
This is now what I get to clean up about 18 times a day.
But who wouldn't love that smile!

What a crazy day already and it is only 4:00. The kid overload usually dies off around 5:30 though....light at the end of a tunnel.

Rain Rain, go away!

The kids & I came home during the rain storm on Saturday evening. When the kids got out of the car they walked over to the puddles to look at them. Ryan & I were in the garage staying dry and talking. When I see Charlie's desire to jump in the puddle I yell, "don't even think about mister." He gave me a huge grin knowing what I was talking about. 10 seconds later Ryan runs outside, jumps in a huge puddle and splashes the kids with a big wave of water. They look up at me to see if they are going to get into trouble. I just yelled, "whatever!" This is what came of a man who thankfully stills likes to play like the kids.

Say What????

Yesterday the kids and I were driving in the car and they wanted to sing Old McDonald. They started off with the traditional animals and then moved on to some creative thinking. Ali jumped in with this one: "....and on his farm he had a Mommy E-I-E-I-O. With a talk talk here and a talk talk there, here a talk....." you get the picture. What is that suppose to mean? I mean what am I supposed to take from that? Evidentally to my talkative 5 year old, I talk too much! When I was younger my family used to call me motor mouth, I guess not a lot has changed.

While I was looking for a farm picture I came across this comic and thought I would add it for your enjoyment.

P.S. Thanks for all the great comments on the whole bank issue. I looked around and decided to stay with Wamu for a bit longer, for now.

What's in a bank????

Hey, I need some help. We are thinking about changing over to a new bank. We are currently at Washington Mutual, but we are hearing rumors about them going under and I'm just not sure I want to stay and go through that. I have no idea which bank to change to, any ideas????? Where do you bank and why do you love it or hate it? Some factors that are important to me:

1) User friendly website - all I do is bank online (except to deposit a check every once and a while)
2) Convenience of bank location so I can drop off checks to deposit
3) Interest rates
4) At Washington Mutual I get free checks for life and a bunch of other perks - one free overdraft waive and things like that
5) Ability to transfer as much as I want. I seriously make about 10 or so transfers a month. I know some banks only let you transfer a certain amount of times a month before they give you a fee

If it wasn't for the fact that this bank may no longer exist I would totally stay, but I don't feel comfortable staying. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Crazy days!

Ethan - 4, Ali - 5, Oscar - 7 months, Reese - 5, Charlie - 3, Drew - 2 These are what my days have been consisting of. I feed, clean up after, play with, entertain, and drive around these crazy kids all day. It only gets really crazy sometimes. They tend to entertain each other pretty well and we usually only have minor bumbs or tears each day. Wish me luck! Oh yeah, let's add another one in 3 months and see what happens.

Dancing Queen and Superman

The kids decided to dress up today. They have been wearing these outfits for about 6 hours now. They also both got a haircut. I just buzz Charlie cause thats what I know how to do and Ali asked for a trim. Charlie's is really short but I figured if I did a #1 I wouldn't have to cut it again until next year. We did the haircuts outside and afterwards Charlie asked if I could put it back on him. I told him it would grow back and he looked at me and said, "in the grass??? that is weird."

Green thumb

Nobody can tell me I don't have a green thumb anymore! I hurt my thumb a tiny tiny bit but the darn thing won't stop bleeding and it is in such an awkward location that regular bandaids don't stay on. Do you love it???

Oh Baby!!!!!

I have had a few people ask me how big I am getting. Here ya go. I feel huge right now. I am almost 25 weeks pregnant and everything is going really well. I'm tired and achy, but that is to be expected. It is getting harder to give the kids a bath because I can't breathe when I bend over. Oh well. The kids are getting really excited for a baby girl to come. Ali & Charlie seem to be Oscar's face all the time and they fight over who gets to play with him. We figure that when the next one comes they will each have one baby to attack (in a good way).

Waffles anyone????

We decided to give Oscar a try at waffles.......he LOVED it! He consumed more than Ali & Charlie in half the time.

Oscar is mobile & Charlie's first day of preschool

I had to start with this picture. This t-shirt was Ryan's (obviously) when he was little. Here is Charlie on his first day of preschool. He goes 2 days a week and thinks he is pretty hot stuff.

This is not where I left Oscar. I put him about 5 feet away from my craft table but he managed to get to what he wanted to. Now I need to baby-proof the house.

He thinks he is a monkey! Either that or he is doing his workout routine again.

I just really loved this picture. See, they really do love each other.

I just loved these pictures of me & my baby. He is getting so big!
