Halloween!

It's only a few days until the end of October so over at Sweet Stampin' we're taking Halloween as the inspiration for our next challenge, which starts today.  You can create something that is full-on Halloween, or a design inspired by Halloween colours.

If you're like me, Halloween isn't really a "thing" but I do love the Halloween images offered by MFT and Lili of the Valley.  I used a Lili of the Valley digi image for my DT project:

I kept everything very simple and straightforward so that I can choose a sentiment when I have a recipient in mind.  I coloured the image with Copics and added some glittery dots using a Sakura pen just to add a bit of sparkly.

I cut a thin mat from black cardstock and adhered everything onto another panel cut from Maja Designs paper before adding to my card base.

We hope you can play along with us this fortnight. You can find inspiration from the Team Susan Sweeties plus all the challenge details over on the Sweet Stampin' blog.

Have a brilliant weekend!

Spooky!!!

The nights are drawing in, leaves are falling from the trees and there's a definite chill in the air.  Christmas is only a couple of months away... But first, Halloween!  And that's our theme for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

Halloween really isn't a thing here.  Some of the tinies go round the houses with their parents to show off their costumes and maybe get some sweeties, but that's it.  No need, really to make Halloween cards, but I make them anyway because there are so many cute stamps out there!

One such cutie that I love is this digi stamp from Lili of the Valley, which I've used for my DT card.

I printed out the image a little larger than usual so that I could make a 6" x 6" square card.  I coloured it with Copics and a selection of glitter pens before adding some sequins for a bit of extra something.

The image was mounted on a purple mat, which in turn was glued to black scallop-edged cardstock - yes, I still have those Martha Stewart edger punches that were all the rage several years back!

We'd love you to share your Halloween makes with us - you'll find all the details plus lots of spooky inspiration from the Sweeties here at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog.

Enjoy your weekend!

Halloween at Sweet Stampin'

Morning!  I'm joining Team Wends' challenge at Sweet Stampin' this fortnight because our challenge is Halloween and I love Halloween stamps!

I don't "do" Halloween. Even when the Boy Wonder was little, we didn't go trick or treating or anything like that.  But I love some of the Halloween images so much that I always end up making cards in spite of the fact that they are rarely sent.

I think this Lili of the Valley image is so sweet. The joy of a digi stamp is that you can re-size it and  I wanted a big focal image to colour with my Copics.  I kept everything else very simple - there is some glitter on the stars but it isn't showing up in the photo.

It would be great if you could play along with our Halloween challenge.  You'll find lots of fab inspiration plus the challenge details here at the Sweet Stampin' challenge blog.

Have a fabulous crafty weekend!

Too cute to spook!

There's a new challenge starting today at Sweet Stampin' with the appropriately timed theme of Halloween.  If you're anything like me, you might really enjoy making Halloween cards even though it's something you don't take part in.

I've used this little CC Designs cutie before, but she's lovely to colour and I was inspired by last week's Sweet Stampin' challenge which was to use your "antique" stamps!

I used a selection of Distress Inks to create the night sky background behind the Memory Box stencil.  The stamped image was coloured with Copics and fussy cut before being adhered to the card with foam pads.

I hope you can play along with us this week.  We're being sponsored by the brilliant Stix 2 who have a "sticky" prize ready and waiting for our randomly chosen winner.  The Sweeties have been busy creating some wonderfully witchy works of art, so why not hop over here to take a peek?

Have a fabulous weekend!

Hugs

For someone who doesn't do Halloween...

I've made another Halloween card!  I can't resist colouring this Tiddly Inks image at this time of year; she's called Alison and she's a dream to colour.

I haven't entered a challenge for AGES so I thought I'd enter the following:

Without Words - Boo
Tiddly Inks - Non-traditional Halloween Colours

Now I really need to get going with my Christmas cards!

I don't do Halloween...

...but I quite enjoy making Halloween cards, so I decided to join in with the Team Fi Sweeties this week for the Sweet Stampin' Halloween-themed challenge.

This was a pretty quick card to make! I used the Halloween set from Clearly Besotted to stamp the cat and the sentiment.  For a change this card won't need to go in the unsent/charity box as I could use it for a belated birthday or something similar. I've used the cat stamp a few times for Good Luck cards, so it's quite versatile.

Hope you can join in the fun at Sweet Stampin' this week.  We're being sponsored by Crafty Devils (appropriately, given the challenge theme) and they have a £15 voucher to give away to one lucky winner.  The Sweeties have been busy making suitably spooky projects to inspire you, so do hop over here to take a peek.

Have a lovely day!

Halloween!

We have a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' - Halloween!  We've been sponsored by the Stamp Fairy who kindly gave the Sweeties some images to play with.  Here's what I did with mine:

Barry was coloured with Copics (pdq as he's wearing a sheet!). The papers are by Echo Park and I added a Memory Box die cut spider's web and a Sizzix spider cut from Doodlebug velvet cardstock.

Hope you can join in the fun with us this week!

Hugs
