Show us your frillies!

Oo-er missus! Over at Sweet Stampin' today we want to see your frillies! And by that we mean anything frilly - it could be a frilly dress, ribbon or even undies (check out what our lovely Sweetie Wedgie made!).

I used one of my Uptown Girls stamps and coloured these lovely ladies with Copics. I added Glossy Accents and Stickles to drinks and frills and the cherry in the cocktail was coloured with a Sakura glitter pen that I'd forgotten I had.  I used the Memory Box Skyline die to make a background and teamed it with MME Tangerine DP.  I'll admit that I didn't think I'd ever use the paper with the circle pattern on it, but I thought that behind the skyline die it might look like a firework display... maybe?

Our sponsor this week is Lili of the Valley who are giving away a £10 voucher to our lucky winner and  the Ribbon Girl are sponsoring our monthly prize draw with a £10 voucher.  And with the cold weather here in the UK, what could be better than staying warm and cosy inside and doing a bit of crafting? Bliss!

Have a lovely day.

Cold and Frosty!

Today is the big day over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'! It's our first challenge of 2013 and the "official" launch of our new challenge blog, although we did have an Anything Goes challenge last month to help spread the word.  We were blown away by the number of entries we received - over 400 at the last count!

Our theme this month is Cold and Frosty - perfectly timed for the cold snap the Met Office have predicted for the UK!

I decided to make an 8"x8" card for a change and used a combination of papers from October Afternoon, Basic Grey and Prima.  I inked the edges of my DP with Walnut Stain and topped them with aqua ribbon and a bow.  The image is one of Mo Manning's amazing digis, coloured with Copics. I added lots of Glamour Dust for some frosty sparkle.  The embellie in the bottom right corner has been in my stash for so long that I've forgotten the make, but I think it might be Fancy Pants.

Do come over to Christmas at Sweet Stampin' and take a look at the inspiration projects some of the Christmas Sweeties have made.  As we are a monthly challenge the remaining Sweeties will be posting their designs on 23rd January.  We have some great sponsors on board, too. This month our prize is a £10 voucher from My Mums Craft Shop. I wouldn't mind that myself!

Have a great day!

Use Something New at LHOSM

Over at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia we have a new challenge for you.  This time we'd like you to use something new on your projects - a great opportunity for you to use all of those lovely crafty pressies you were given at Christmas! The winner will be given a 2 week GDT slot, so go and ink up those Magnolia and hAnglar stamps and join in the fun!

For my DT card I just had to use one of the beautiful Tildas in the new Magnolia collection.

I think she might be my favourite, but it's a close-run thing between her and Tilda with her big bow which I used in yesterday's card.  I painted Tilda with DIs and Distress Markers.  The papers are from my stash (MME, I think) and have been distressed, inked and stitched.  I then simply added flowers from WOC and some lace ribbon.

I do hope you can join in our challenge this fortnight - pop over here to see the amazing designs my teamies have made to inspire you!

White plus One

It's time for our first challenge of 2013 over at Sweet Stampin' and this week our theme is "White plus One".   Time for those mono creations!

With so much Christmas paper left to use, I went for red and white as my theme.  The papers are Magnolia and I added a doily and flowers from my stash (a combination of the Ribbon Girl and Wild Orchid Crafts).  Tilda is from the latest collection and it will come as no surprise to learn that I loved colouring that bow! The ribbon on the card is a bit of recycling - it was originally on a very lovely box of choccies I was given for Christmas.  As the ribbon was so gorgeous and I knew I had this challenge to complete, the Boy Wonder and I did our duty and scoffed the entire box over 2 nights.  How's that for dedication!

Our sponsor this week is Cuddly Buddly, who are giving away a £10 voucher for their lovely online store.  We also have a new monthly sponsor in the shape of the Ribbon Girl, who will be giving a £10 online store voucher to one randomly chosen winner from all of this month's entries.  Definitely worth entering our challenge, don't you think?

I'll be back over at Sweet Stampin' tomorrow to announce the winner of our weekly and monthly prize draws, plus I'll be picking our Spotlight winner.

Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

Here's hoping that 2013 will be a wonderful year for all of you!

I posted the box I made for Mum and Dad's Christmas card the other day, so, as promised, here is the card that went inside it.

I used Maja Designs paper, inked the edges with Walnut Stain DI and sewed the middle panels. The lovely velvet and lace ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl and I used roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment is one I've had for ages and is by Cat's Life Press.

For the image I masked Lucia Tilda and stamped Edwin beside her.  They have been coloured with Distress Markers and I've added lots of Stickles for some Christmas sparkle.

The inside was decorated with more paper from the same Maja Designs pad but I forgot to take any photos before I gave it to Mum and Dad!

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Magnolia Down Under - Anything Goes
Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

I hope you have all had a wonderful New Year and wish you all the very best of health and happiness for the coming months.

Thank you so much for stopping  by.
