Tic Tac Poe

Hello again!  I decided to play along with a challenge blog that I very much admire…Quoth the Raven.  Their current challenge is Tic, Tac, Poe, so there’s a lot of room to play.

I used Stitching, Lace, and Feathers in a row(but I also used pleats, fabric, and flowers).

I made a monstrosity of a hat.  I’m going to a stamping convention soon and on the preview night they’re having a crazy hat contest, so I decided that my crazy hat would be a tribute to Mr. Poe.

Coincidentally, the book under the hat is Poe & Fanny by John May.(Yes, I’m a wee bit obsessed)

The Poe rubber stamp is from Artful Illusions.  I also used a feather, a feather charm, and a pen nib embellishment.

Here’s a peek at how I made this.

Poe-etic Smeared and Smudged Hop

Blog Roll:

I love Poe.  I’ve loved Poe for as long as I can remember.  My mother read/recited the lines of The Raven and Annabel Lee to me when I was a kid…and I instantly fell in love with his words.  So I’m pleased to be a part of this blog hop that honors Poe’s poems along with other members of Smeared and Smudged.

Since Annabel Lee was one of the first poems of Poe’s that I read I decided to use a quote from this poem on my project.  I used little letter stamps from The Paper Studio to stamp the words with ink.  All the rest is acrylic paint.  It’s a 6x8 canvas panel.

I’m no expert painter, so some of the proportions are a bit off, but it was still fun to paint someone that I love.

Thanks for looking!  Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Ike!

Happy Hopping!
