Distressed Dream Card

Good Morning!

I'm back today with another one of my Artisan Award entries. Today's card was the last piece that I made to send in. It was done pretty late on the night before it was due and I just kept adding to it until it looked right. I used more of my favorite stamp sets and one of my favorite color combinations, too! Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Medallion, En Francais, Dreams Du Jour
Ink: Soft Suede, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red classic inks; Whisper White craft ink
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Soft Suede cardstock; Pumpkin Pie textured cardstock; Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, Hemp Twine, Pretties kit, Aqua Painter, Signo White gel pen, paper piercer, Scallop Edge punch

This card feels like there is a lot going on, doesn't it? You can't even see where I used the En Francais stamp in the background but it could just be the picture. I distressed the whole thing with lots of Soft Suede classic ink.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Artisan Award winners projects:

Embellish Magazine Blog Hop

Hi! Thanks for stopping by today! I'm participating in a blog hop for one of my favorite sources of inspiration- Embellish Magazine! Embellish is an online magazine with weekly challenges, great tips, and tons of creativity. Their first online publication was launched recently and we are celebrating!

For all of the blog hop info, please head to the Embellish Magazine blog.

I made two cards with the issue's challenge in mind: use Kraft, Red, Turquoise, and Brown together in a project incorporating twine into your design. I love this color scheme and could probably create with it for days...

Here is my first card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Party Hearty
Ink: Soft Suede classic ink and stampin' write marker; Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede cardstock
Accessories: Hemp Twine, Perfect Polkadot texturz plate, Dimensionals

I know the banner thing has been done before but not by me! Hee! I saw the party hats stamp from the Party Hearty set and thought they'd make perfect little banner flags...

Here is the second card I made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Chic Boutique, Tiny Tags, Vintage Vogue, I {Heart} Hearts, En Francais
Ink: Basic Black, Going Grey, Soft Suede, Real Red, Bermuda Bay classic inks; Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Confetti White, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Real Red cardstock; Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Top Note Die, Hemp Twine, Aqua Painter, Signo White gel pen

For this one, I wanted a vintage feel... wouldn't some of Ashley's homemade crinkle ribbon look cute on this card? I had fun giving each dress form a different look. I gave the red one some polkadots by stamping the polkadot heart from the I {Heart} Hearts set with red ink.

Blog Hop Info

I {Heart} You

I had a little time to play this afternoon! I stamped a clean and simple card to play along with the girls over at Just Add Ink. I was a top pick in last weeks challenge :) Hee!

Their challenge this week was to create something with hearts so that is just what I did! This card is a case of one of my own cards that I did back in November with leaves instead of hearts...

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts set; A Happy Heart set
Ink: Soft Suede, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum classic inks
Paper: Kraft, Perfect Plum, Whisper White cardstock; Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Paper Piercer, White Signo gel pen, Scallop Edge punch, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals

This card was just what I needed to get back into the swing of things! My mojo has been missing lately... I kept things really simple this time and I think it really helped! Hee!

Hope you are all enjoying your day!

My Sweetheart Birdie

Good Morning!

I'm off to a great week so far! Had a quiet day yesterday and today I'm busy preparing for a fun couple of days with my nephews while their mama (my sister) and daddy are at the hospital. We should be welcoming my new niece tomorrow sometime! Hee! I can hardly wait- though I'm sure I'll be busy enough with my two girls and her two boys!

Over the weekend I made a fun card- a valentine for my honey:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Cheep Talk set, I {Heart} Hearts set
Ink: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Baja Breeze, Basic Black classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Kraft, Soft Suede cardstock; Sweet Pea DSP; Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Two-step Bird punch, Scallop Edge punch, paper piercer, dimensionals

While peeking at all the fun creations at Two Peas in a Bucket last week, one design in particular caught my eye and I couldn't wait to try it out! Here is the original design I cased by Tanis: Lets Party Card I loved the simplicity of the paper strips and the dotted edges. So cute! Thanks Tanis for the inspiration! She's got more clean and simple cards and some great scrapbook designs on her blog: Card Confessions.

I am so glad I went through my stamps last week! The Cheep Talk set was another one I unearthed from underneath all of my new goodies. Doesn't the little bird make a cute little valentine? I love it!

Hope you enjoy your day and hopefully the next time I post, I can share cute pictures of my tiny new niece!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vintage Kraftiness

With the new year comes inspiration to organize my craft area and purge out the older stuff I don't use any more. It also unearths old favorites, like the Chic Boutique set that I haven't used in ages! I also found a lonely little Sizzix flower die that hasn't gotten to play in awhile- poor guy! I think I only used it once! I paired these up with some pretty polka-dotted DSP and lots of Kraft cardstock to make this:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Chic Boutique set, Sprinkles set
Ink: Versamark; Soft Suede, Going Gray, Basic Black classic inks
Paper: Kraft, Soft Suede, Rose Red, Crushed Curry, Old Olive cardstock; The Write Stuff DSP; Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Paper Piercing Tool, White Signo gel pen, Circle Rhinestone Brad (Pretties Kit), Sponges, SU! Floral Fusion die, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, dimensionals

I wanted to create a soft, vintage feel with some bright colors and I love how it turned out! I used the flower stamp from the Sprinkles to create a soft background and used my favorite Soft Suede ink to sponge around the edges. I think the textures of the felt and the torn edges also help with the vintage feel.

OK! I hope you are enjoying your day and if you have time, check out your old stash and pull out some of those favorites that haven't been used in a while!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Friend the Sock Monkey...

Yes, I like the sock monkey set! Hee! I know a lot of people are against him (I've even had a customer draw red creepy eyes on him in class) but I love him... or her on my card today! Here it is:

All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sock Monkey set, Full of Life set
Ink: Basic Black Classic ink; Close To Cocoa and Pretty in Pink markers

More Chic Boutique!

My new sets are always the ones I use the most! Chic Boutique came in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I am having lots of fun with it!! Today I used the Eiffel Tower image as my focal point... here it is...

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Chic Boutique set; Baroque Motifs set
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede, Creamy Caramel Classic inks
Paper: Very Vanilla, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede cardstock; Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, Fire Circle rhinestone brads, Curly Label punch, paper piercer, stamping sponges, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

I stamped the Eiffel tower image onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Soft Suede ink. Next, I colored some of the image with my Pretty in Pink marker and added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the same areas with my 2-Way glue pen. I have a brand new one so it makes the tiny parts pretty easy to get! Hee! When the glitter was dry, I sponged around the edges with Creamy Caramel ink and then Soft Suede ink to give it an aged look. I added two rhinestone brads to the corner. Next, I matted it with Rose Red cardstock and roughed up the edges with my Design Elements applicator. I used Dimensionals to pop it up and added another mat in Soft Suede. Next, I built up my card base, which started out as a A2 Soft Suede card. I cut my Rose Red DSP to fit and sponged around the edges with Rose Red ink. I adhered it to the base. Next, I cut a strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock and stamped over it using the swirls from the Baroque Motifs set. I added some pierced holes along the long edges and distressed them as well. I wrapped it with Very Vanilla ribbon. Before I tied it, I laced it through the mats of the Eiffel tower image so that it was under the top two but over the last. I added a hint of Pumpkin Pie by adding a torn piece of cardstock to the bottom edge. Before adhering all of this to the card base, I first stamped the swirly image underneath where I wanted my sentiment to be. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get it just right. I also colored in the swirl ends to make it stand out a little with my Soft Suede marker. Once it was all adhered down, I added my sentiment which was stamped on Very Vanilla with Soft Suede ink and punched out using the Curly Label punch. I inked around the edges with Pretty in Pink ink and popped it up using Dimensionals.

Well, it is a great afternoon for staying indoors (to hot and muggy out!) so I think I should have some more goodies to share with you tomorrow!!

Thanks for stopping by and if you get a chance, please pop over to Paper Crafts Magazine's Gallery Idol Contest to vote for your favorite! I am currently in the top 10! Hee!

Have a great day!
