Goodbye Pick a Petal!

Pick a Petal was one of the first sets I started with and I’ve used it soo much for all different occasions….from weddings to birthdays and so much more!

Alas, this set is retiring this year so there isn’t long to add it to your collection….just 9 days left!!

So to show you how easy and versatile it is I’ve been playing!

I’ve cased one of the cards that really made me smile when I saw it….I can’t remember where I saw it first but Victoria has put together a tutorial for Pick a Petal.  You can find it on her blog – definitely worth a look.  Or have a look at my previous creations using the label in my side bar.

Remember!  This set is only available until the 30th September!!

I’ve had another go myself and made this cute and very CAS set of  ‘Thank you’ mini cards:

IMG_1481I’ll tell you about this colour on a better show case….needless to say the new In-color palette from Stampin’ Up! is gorgeous (and includes a lovely lilac!)

IMG_1480Another beautiful new colour from Stampin’ Up!  It’s a lovely marine turquoise colour….watch this space!

I’m going to enter these in the Less is More challenge (again….we’re trying to hit 1000 entries this week), but I’m also entering these in the following challenges:

Make it Monday {Linky Party}

Anything Goes {Anything Goes}

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge {One Layer Card}

Pick a Square for LIM Challenge

(Sorry! Just relinked this to the actual post!)

Yay, Saturday!  And another Less is More challenge!  Today Chrissie and Mandi have challenged us to

PICK A SQUARE

….so I’ve picked a corner.

Springtime Vintage

I’ve also picked a petal Smile.

I’ve used the Pick a Petal stamp set on the very beautiful Springtime Vintage paper and a greeting from Heard from the Heart.  Hmm….not sure if that sentiment extends too far!

I do love this set and indeed this card style….it’s not the first time I’ve tried this so I feel a bit of a cheat.  But with a day of crafting ahead there’s a chance I could try this again.

Hope you like it!  And I’m going to apologise beforehand….I am one of those people who currently can’t easily comment and my followers have disappeared!  Double whammy!!  What is going off with Blogger at the moment!!!

Thanks for looking.

Busy, busy, busy…..

I know, I know!  No excuse!! But I’ll get it out the way now!  There is so much going on at the moment and the small thing of a day job keeps getting in the way! *sigh*

No worries….hopefully I’m back on track now!  But I’ve needed the time to think of a “card” for the Less is More challenge this week.  ACETATE!! Yep!Acetate!

Hmmmm! Been thinking about this one since Sunday and I think many of the LIMettes are feeling the same!  You’re really challenging us this week, Chrissie and Mandi!

So here goes:IMG_9276

I’ve made this card using my Pick a Petal stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!  I’ve stamped petals on to smooth Rich Razzleberry card and DSP Patterns paper in Pumpkin Pie.  The Old Olive butterfly is a Sizzlet from Sizzix with an acetate overlay.

I’ve attached the Razzleberry petals on the front of the acetate and the Pumpkin Pie petals on the back.

To anchor the card, I’ve 3-d’d a greeting (from my new “Just Believe” Stamp set) on to the front of a Razzleberry base.

And if you was wondering about the pop-up mechanism for this card….that’s right….IMG_9285

 Acetate!

And now for the close ups.

A Touch of Red

Such a late post tonight because I’ve been playing with my new purchases from Stampin’ Up!  It’s like Christmas *girly hand clap*.  I have some lovely products that I’m so looking forward to using and making some lovely cards to show you.  It’s OK….I don’t mind doing thatWinking smile.
My latest card was inspired by my upliner, Victoria over on Blue Jelly Stampin’.  So much so I wanted to give it a go myself, so I’ve used it to enter the challenge over on “Less is More” – A Touch of Red.

I’ve used my newly acquired ‘Pick a Petal’ stamp set and to stamp a five petal flower in Real Red, using my new and ingenious Stamp-a-ma-jig to align the petals exactly how I wanted them (such a simple but brilliant gadget!!).
I’ve trimmed the card with some of the red spotty paper from the Designer Series Pattern paper and added a greeting to finish it off.
Now, I nearly added a gem or two….but couldn’t decide where to put them….so I left them off.  And I’m glad I did.  I don’t think it needs anymore.  Less is more, right?
All in all, I’m quite pleased with the result.  Let me know what you think Smile.
Thanks for reading,
