New Stiching blog

Hello every one *waves to you* I have started a new stiching blog. I have put a few items on here that I have made in the past, in fact this blog was going to include all my hobbies. However, it's been over three years blogging for me now (where does the time go?) and as you probaly know I already have a Journal Challange blog Once a month I share a page/spread and give you all the chance to play along with me and this has just celebrated it's 1st year and is still going *smiles* And as well as seperating my Art journaling, I thought it also best to set up this new blog for my Stiching projects.

I also set my self the task to learn to crochet this year and also use some of the beautiful material I have bought in the past (it's only being stroked so far) Any way I thought that if you woul like to pass the word along or even stop by and see what I am up to, it would be really nice to see you. I am sure some of you also do more that paper craft. I have seen lots of wonderful things you all do and if you would like to stop by and share I would love to see your stitching loveliness. I Will not only be Crocheting I will be sewing and knitting hence the name of my new blog Stitching Happiness, I do hope you will stop by, here are a few little things that you may see soon if you pop along.

Shabby Chic tag 'across the miles'

Hi, hope you're all well & safe. We are having some dreadful flooding here in the UK I am thinking of you. I was thinking of gifts, you know Christmas on it's way an all. Any way I thought it would be nice to make a tag or two, to put on some gifts to people I don't see because they're so far away, but I didn't want to go the traditional Christmas colours.

I decided to go all Shabby, I love this look so much. I found some fabby papers of vintage maps A5 size and this isn't a shop I would think I would get this kind of thing, but I will be looking much more closely Here in the future. I hope this gives a little inspiration, and reminds us that our family and friends are never too far for us to show them love, be safe. Dxx

Using stuff I forgot I had

I like to have a rummage and find things I forgot I had or better still things given as little gifts in swaps, like bits of paper sequins buttons etc.  It helps the creativity flow I feel. When you haven't been making much on the paper front for a while it's nice to get a helpful creative boost from something new and it didn't cost me a penny ;0)

I really loved this little fairy image and crochet flower. Some ink, paper a few gems, sequin and some 3D foam and there is another little ATC ready for a swap or gift. I challenge you to find things you haven't used and make something new out of it. Love Dawn xx

Autumnal bird tag

Hello I haven't been doing much in paper crafting of late. I have been enjoying knitting things for Christmas & Birthday gifts. However, it's nice to come back to making a lovely tag, I also have some painted wood items drying ready for the next stages as we speak. So I hope to share much more with you all over the next couple of months. Here are some close ups of the tag.

On my many walks with the dogs of late I have seen birds soaring in the sky, wondering are they off for the Winter to more pleasant climates? or just going to find another area for food. So I made this tag with that in mind thinking of how they make me feel. What do birds make you feel? love Dawn xx

Altered coasters

Well beer mats actually lol they're also 4x4s I thought I would add these to a challenge over at Unruly paper arts as 4x4 is their September challenge and I really enjoyed playing around with these. Journal loveliness ;0)

It's September, like we need reminding it's getting chilly here in NW of the UK and the nights are drawing in. One of my son's will be back off to Uni next week and so the crafting and house work will get back to normal again ;0) So are you ready to say good by to your children (no matter the age) it can be really hard but now Our Shawn is in his 2nd year and we know he is happy and settled we (hubby & I) are really looking forward to having the house to our self YES! lol

Doris Day

Yesterday got me in the mood and over at Tam's this months Challenge is to draw a film star. So I felt a wee bit prepared to do a quick sketch (40min) because of yesterday so here is my likeness of Doris she is super as far as I am concerned, and of course still lots of time to join in if you like. Portrait Pt 1

I am attempting to do a portrait, something I am not very good at all. However, I am following a free on line course.   Jay is the guy who is doing the teaching on the free  Video tutorial. His Blog Is full of cool things to see. Here is where it all starts with information etc. There will be two portrait's and this is where we got to on Pt1 of  the vid. For Portrait one Hope you can come and have a go to ;0)

This is what I am attempting to do. I love this photograph full of interest and just look at those eyes I am going to be working on my eyes a lot more. Jay's of course looks fab already but I am hardly a person who has painted much in the way of portraits since school apart from the odd Whimsy girl. With the lovely Willowing who''s courses and ning group are fab BTW. Any way I am also going to enter this for PPF as I have finally done some painting. So It's August already, I have been Olympic crazy and found it hard to blog at all. It's so cool to have them here in London so cool. You know I hate to mention Christmas so early but I have been knitting a Christmas pressie so this has taken up some time, I have also been reading a lot lately as well, go to my Face Book page for more information (just request me to be friends Dawn Anthony if your interested) Any way I have managed to tear my self away from baking, knitting, Crochet and all my other things to make this little treasure hope you like it. Post cards for friends

Look at these stunning ladies ;0) There is nothing plain about these women. But these simple Post Cards to me scream elegance. I wanted to send a few PCs to some friends who are just lovely women (we all need to be reminded of this sometimes) The women who received these are just so special in my life. I sent four in all. These are the two I remembered to photograph ;0)

I have put some beautiful Anna Griffin papers as a background to these lovely ladies. I hope they make the receivers smile and feel special, because they are very special to me. Dawn xx

Tag Tuesday

I have ben trying to do some tags for  Tag Tuesday They have had so many great themes I intend to have a go at catching up with some of my faves that I have missed This was for June 19th the colour green. I also used a freebie sheet  Parisian Beauty. It has some wonderful images which I know I will return to over & over again ;0)

Tag with Parisian beauty

How are you? Sunday going well for you I hope ;0) I know I am a bit of a stranger in the blogging world but I have just been doing some courses and stuff and trying to get out in between the bloody awful weather us Brits are having for June. I have been watching the French Open (love my Tennis) so it all starts again for me tomorrow with Wimbledon I have to watch the men's tennis it's the law! ;0) any other tennis freaks out there? Any way Art, crafting what ever you call it I have been doing lots and so I had better share a little piece with you ;0)

Special Baby Frame

Morning peeps. I made this last week I thought you would like to have a look. So much has been done to alter this piece of wood. It's been painted, crackled, distressed painted again lol and I hope it shows. I made this for a new baby. I have decorated it all over.

And it comes with a gift card to match. I have left a space in the centre for the special little one to be the focus of the piece.

Lavender Cushions I Heart them

Morning me again, I know I have been around a lot this week. But I really am trying to sell a few of my wears. Things are tight in the Anthony Household (whose isn't I know) but I may have to stop buying my magazine and any new crafty items (I don't know if I can do that) SO I am using some things I have already and trying to make them into things I can sell. My son is coming home from Uni in June and we are to pick him up and bring everything back home as well, but four adults on one small income is stretching and stretching we will all be eating like students soon hahah Beans on toast any one?

Most of these have Lavender in them with the stuffing, I'm thinking it should all be lavender should I make any more. There is also a pin cushion to. But there all on my Folksy shop If you would like one ;0) Love Dawn xx
