Distance Learning Thank You Cards

Hello friends,
I am back to share some thank you cards I created for my school kiddos. We finished Distance Learning FINALLY so I got going on creating 25 of these goodies.
I must admit, I don't particularly like mass-producing cards. It feels less personal. But in cases like this, it's what one has to do to be efficient.

Allow me to let you in on my typical card-making mind process...💬💬💬

I think about the person I'm creating a card for. I think about the reason/situation for the card. I think about their likes, their personality, little quirks, etc.- anything that will help me to personalize my therapy crafting session 😁. Then, I imagine what the card would look like... Then, I head over to my crafty stash and pick out some stamps and goodies that will bring the idea in my mind into reality. And that's it! I go about creating. So when I emerge from being "in the zone" I evaluate my crafty creation & if it doesn't make me smile, then I cannot send it. Thankfully, this doesn't happen very often. I think this is why as card-makers, we love what we do. Our crafty creations make us smile, then when the recipient gushes and loves it, we get a second wave of good feels, right? Right. So I guess that's what's missing for me a bit in mass producing cards.

So on to today's cards:
I can't say these were super easy to mass-produce, but they weren't hard either. Having a stamping tool like the one I used is definitely a plus to getting these done much faster. Well, instead of tell, I'll show you how these cards came together. You can watch the tutorial below or ----> HERE.

And a peek at the innies.

Thanks so much for popping in today. Hope you're all well and finding some time for a lovely crafternoon or two.

Fiesta Birthday Slimline Card + VIDEO

Hello friends,
Today I have a birthday card I made for a teacher friend.
Here it is:
I used the Hola Mexico stamp set from Waffle Flower.
I colored it with lots of Copic markers in rainbow colors. I popped up the dancer, the papel picado banner, and the piñata. Since I wanted to use as many of the cute images, I decided that a Slimline card was in order! For details, I added Stickles to the banners, piñata, her dress, and the hats.

Here's a peek at the innies:
The "felicidades" is a Tim Holtz' die. I didn't even know he created dies in Spanish until I ran across them by chance on Simon Says Stamp! I was so excited to see T!M created dies in Spanish *Ü* Felicidades means "Congratulations" or "Best Wishes" in this case for a birthday. In case you're wondering about the upside down (inverted) exclamation mark, in Spanish, an exclamation mark (or question mark) is used before the expression and after it. It alerts the reader, that there is an exclamatory ( or interrogatory) phrase coming up.

Guess what? There's a video of how this card came together.
or watch it ----> HERE, if you'd like.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you're all in good health!
Until next time...

Crafty Catch-Up!

Hello crafty friends,
I know it's been way too long since I posted. That was right before the shut down happened and Distance Learning began. I just finished on Friday and cannot stress enough how relieved I am. I was glad to see my students (when they managed to turn on their video), but am worried for the ones I didn't hear from. I'm hoping it was simply because they didn't want to bother. My district made the decision to give all students, regardless of their grade at the time, a "credit" for their semester grade. So that meant that if they had an A, they got "credit" on their transcript. If they had an F, they got "credit" on their transcript. Ah well... more on that later...

Since I was crazy busy trying to learn a million tech things, I totally neglected my poor little blog. So let's catch up why don't we? Remember, I post regularly on Instagram, so that's the best way to see what I'm up to when you don't hear from me here...

Trays for Ink Blending Foam Pads- VIDEO!

Heloooo crafty friends,
It has been 3 years since I posted a YouTube video, but today I am back to share something that was a problem solver for me! Like many of you, I put a velcro circle under my ink pad to attach my ink blending foam pads. The problem with this is that because I had to stack them on top of each other (for storage purposes), the ink from the pad would transfer to the lid of the ink pad that was under it.
I don't know about you, but I'm pretty "Type A" about these things so I did not like that.
In today's video, I share a solution that was inspired by the great Karen Burniston.

You can find Karen Burniston's blog post ---> HERE , where you can download her cut file and PDF. The easiest thing would be to use the cut file of course, but I didn't have access to my Cricut at the  time. The way I shared was pretty easy.
Here are the scoring measurements for 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock:
1/4", 1 1/2", 1 3/4", 2,  3 1/4", 3 1/2", 3 3/4", 5", 5 1/4", 5 1/2", 6 3/4", 7", 7 1/4", 8 1/2", 8 3/4", 9", 10 1/4", 10 1/2"
Use heavyweight cardstock. It helps the trays to be sturdy and the foam pads don't fall out. I used 110lb cardstock, but if you have 65lb or 80 lb cardstock, you might need to pinch the trays to hold the foam pads in.
Hope it helps! Until next time....Tootles!
