Muchas Gracias and Xiè Xiè

Hi friends,
I'm sharing a little note set I created for the teachers in my department as a "Welcome Back to School" gift. From time to time, we usually get little gifts from our students & I know I like to give them a thank you card. I thought I would create a set of 4 note cards so teachers can have them on hand.

Here's the note card holder:
Since we're Spanish teachers, I thought the Papel Picado banners from Avery Elle would be a great set to use.
Here are the cards in each color way:

Since I was making multiples, I needed to keep them simple.

Here are the innies:
There are two cards and envelopes on each side.

And here are all the note card holders:
I stamped the party banners in the same colors. I think it made it look very fun & festive! *Ü*

We also have one Chinese teacher, so I created a little something more fitting for her:
Here's the note card holder:
The background is embossed with the CB Roman Bath embossing folder. I die-cut the Koi fish and the letters to spell xiè xiè.

Here's the card:
Here's the innies & the cards:

Those are the Chinese symbols for "Thank You" from a Stampendous stamp. I had to do some stamp surgery because my friend told me the way it was mounted on the stamp (vertical) wasn't really correct. So I cut it apart & remounted it horizontally. I stamped it with Versamark ink & heat embossed them in gold. The inside says "Thank You" in English, but I forgot to take a pic of that :(

This is a super easy peasy card holder to make that I've been using for years. In the original instructions, you are to use eyelets, but I just use liquid adhesive with no problems. You can find the tute---> HERE.

I hope they like them *Ü*
Thanks for stopping by today.
Until next time!

Thanks, Teacher

Hi friends,
Today, I have a card to share that features the no-line coloring technique with Copic markers. I have long admired the look, having first seen it with Magnolia images. Anyhoo, I decided I wanted to give it a go myself.

Here's my card:
Oh my word! Is it challenging!!! It was a long process as well. But for being my first time, I think it came out OK. *Ü*

Here's another peek:
I used the cutie Pure Innocence from the It's a sign stamp set from MFT. I used the long, long neglected fastenater stapler to attach the "teacher" staple. And look!--- No Wonky Stitches die on this card *Ü* hehe. (But it will be back!)

In the end, I think that this is one of those techniques that is worth the time & effort because the result is so, so, soooo preeeetty! *Ü* I will make it my Summer homework to keep practicing.

I used this week's MFT sketch:
I'll also be playing along in the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart: Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers: #140 Stitching
Corrosive Challenge: #226 Pile it on- Layers & techniques

Thanks so much for popping in today!
Ciao... for now *Ü*

Teacher Treat Bag

Hi ya friends,
I wanted to share the end of the year gifts (well, the packaging, really)  I gave to the teachers in my department. I wanted to give them a small token of appreciation for all the great work they do. I didn't have a lot of time and I needed to make seven of them, so this is what I came up with that was quick & cute!
Here they are:

They're all the same except for the pattern on the bags. They are embossed *Ü*
I thought embossing the little Kraft paper bags took them from simple to simply beautiful! I reeeeally liked how they came out & best of all it was so super simple to do!

Here's what I did:
I bought the little bags at Mike's. They measure 3 1/2" x 2" x 6 3/4". They come in many colors, but Kraft goes with everything *Ü*

First, you take the base flap and fold back it so that the 2 flaps meet:

Next, choose your embossing folder and tuck it in. I used the large 5 x 7 folders, but...
...you can use the smaller A2 folders by running it through twice, pulling it through the slit at the top. (as shown below).
 Here's the end result:
Isn't that preeeetty! Couldn't be easier.

Here's one last look at a completed bag:
I used the Good Apple stamp set from Lawn Fawn for the chalkboard. I wrote a little message on the back of the little chalkboard tag for each of them & attached it with a cork board clip from Mike's as well (they're on clearance *Ü*)

 Back view:
I put some treats and a Starbucks gift card inside.

I hope I've inspired you to emboss your treat bags and send those teachers off to summer vacation with a smile!

Thanks for peeking today!

Kleenex Box Cover

Hi friends,
I have a crafty project for ya today. I've been wanting to make a cover for the Kleenex box in my classroom for a loooong time! I finally made one, quick & easy & with the help of my fave svgcuts.com.
Here it is:
I thought this school subject paper (from Mike's) was perfect for the box cover.

Here's a peek of it from the top:

Can you see how the "Spanish" is popped up? *Ü*
This was one of the awesome projects from the Back to the Books svg collection. It covers a standard size rectangular tissue box.

We always need tissues in the classroom. What a nice gift this would be to send along to your child's teacher along with a few refills *Ü* That will definitely get you closer to that A+!

That's it for now.

back (pack) to school

Hi friends,
I have a new version of that infamous back pack to share today.
Here it is:
 From the side:

 open:
It's so super quick & easy to whip together! It's another file from the Back to the Books collection from svgcuts.com.

Here's how it compares to the one I designed on my GYPSY.

The svg back pack can be made with 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. It's not as tall as mine but it's almost as wide so it can hold quite a bit of treats for the teacher. Did I mention how easy-peasy it was to assemble? Yup, it's one you can easily create multiples of.

That's it for today!
Thanks so much for popping in *Ü*

Let's Converse

Hi friends,
Today, I'm sharing a little something I made for my T.A. He was my student for 2 years, and now he's graduated to being my TA! *Ü* He is very athletic & an awesome kiddo all around. Not to mention, he's a great T.A! Since we're hitting one month into the new school year, I wanted to make a little something to show him how much I appreciate all he does to help me in the classroom.
Here it is:
This little Converse high-top shoe is all made out of paper. It's another great svg project from my fave svgcuts.com. It is from the Back to the Books kit. I used the MFT all-star stamp set to add the details.

Here's an aerial shot:
I will fill it with some of his favorite treats *Ü*

I even added some embossing detail to the sole:
Hope he likes it! This would also be cute for a PE teacher, or a coach, don't ya think?

Thanks so much for peeking today!

Thank You, Teacher

Hi ya friends,
Long time no see!  I'm back today to share a few things I had a chance to work on recently.
It's back to school time for lots of peeps, including my little one. I think there's something right about starting school after Labor Day, maybe I'm a creature of habit. Anyhoo, I thought this week I would share some school-inspired projects to get you in the school spirit!

Today, I have a teacher card to share:
I used one of my fave teacher images: MFT's A la Modes~ An Apple for Teacher. I decided I would use some honeycomb paper to pop-up the apple & make it fun *Ü*

I think any apple teacher card should be accompanied by an apple treat box you can fill with loads of goodies!
The apple box is an svg file from my FAVE svg site~ svgcuts.com. It's from Miss Baker's Classroom.
I was going to put some Caramel Apple Sugar Babies I bought, but I don't think the teacher wants only three Sugar Babies :( ooops! They were pretty yummy though!

Here's a peek of the simple innies:
I used this week's MFT sketch:

I have one more card I made last week, but didn't get a chance to post it:
I used MFT's At the Movies stamp & DIenamics set. I think I've used this one more than any other MFT set I own (and I have lots!) I luv, luv, luv it!

Here's a peek of the innies:
It's going to a friend who loves going to the movies. I think she'll like it *Ü*

and here's last week's sketch:
Thanks so much for peeking today!
I'll be back with more school goodies...
Tootles!
