Hello Father

Hi again friends,
I have a couple of cards to share with you.
Here's the first:
I had fun creating this card. I die cut the feathers from vellum and the "hello" from gold foil card stock. I hadn't played with the Scribbles die so I decided to add a couple here. That is such a fun die! Who knew scribbles would make me happy *Ü*

I used this sketch from MFT:
My second card is for Father's Day:
The "father" die cut is a sizzlit die I've had for ever and a day! Sometimes having too many toys is not a good thing because you don't get to use what you have. Even though I have A LOT of toys, I seem to always play with the same ones... must have picked that up from my boys ;) wink.

I used this Mojo Monday sketch (rotated):
I say, if I'm not tall and skinny- neither will my cards! Just kidding... I forgot this was tall & skinny week *Ü* My card is A2 sized.

I will also play along in the following challenges:
Sister Act Card challenges: Challenge #108
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge: Challenge #313 Father's Day
The Crafter's Cafe: One for the boys
Mod Squad Challenges: Masculine
Simon Says Stamp: Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes

Well, that's it for now.

Smile

Hi friends,
I have a couple of cards to share with ya today.
Here's the first:
This is a pretty clean & simple card for me *Ü* This cute little fox is from the Into the Woods stamp set from Lawn Fawn- so cute! I thought I would add a few dots with my white gel pen (for texture & details) but it just looks like he has dandruff :( sigh...

Here's a peek of the innies:
I took the other part of the die cut & added it here. The sentiment is also from Lawn Fawn & it's called Scripty Sayings.

I used this sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge:

My second card went to my friend who is getting ready for baby!
I just had to make a shaker card *Ü* so fun!
It can double as a kind of baby rattle when the baby is fussy ;)- wink. I ADORE this entire stamp set from Mama Elephant. It is so super cuuuuute!

Well, thanks so much for peeking today.
Have a great weekend!
Until next time!

Pocket Letter Lite

Hello there friends,
So the latest rage is pocket letters. I think it's a clever idea to keep snail mail and that ancient tradition of writing letters alive and well. I will admit, I'm not a letter writer- I'm a card maker. Well, I have a friend who sends me sweet messages through snail mail & I'm super bad about writing her back :( ---> (insert boos and hisses here). Anyhoo, when I came across this pocket letter concept I thought of my friend. I thought I would give one a try & she would be the one to make it for.

So the basic steps to creating a pocket letter is taking a 9 pocket trading card sleeve and creating little inserts for each pocket, one to be a letter to include in one of the pockets. I found the sleeves at Target for 70 sleeves for $9. OK, that's cheap and probably a few lifetimes' supply!

So when I started working on it I became a bit overwhelmed. It took me forever to create the first insert and I had 8 more to create! No bueno :( So... I resized it to be a little easier to complete. What did I do? I cut 3 of the pockets off the edge! Now it was a 6 pocket letter *Ü*

'Nuff blabber. Here's the final product:
Of course, it's hard to photograph the pockets, so I took each one out of the sleeves & took a pic of each one. I snipped off the side with the binder strip because my friend isn't going to put it in a binder.

Here's the first one:
***I water colored all of the images for her pocket letter with Distress Inks.

The second pocket contains a tea bag and a teapot diecut.

The 3rd: This is my letter. I added a couple of vellum feather die cuts (because she's a writer).

The 4th: Water colored the butterflies & added a die cut Hello

The 5th: Water colored the Dogwood flowers & heat embossed "friendship" on a strip of vellum.

The 6th: A shaker birdcage. Water colored birdie.

The good thing about cutting it down to 6 pockets is that it folded down to fit a regular A2 envelope. *Ü*

I liked the idea of wrapping a doily around it & tying it with some twine before putting it in the envelope.*Ü*

I hope my friend enjoys this pocket letter. You can find more info about them ---> HERE.
All the goodies  I used are listed below.

Thanks so much for sticking around for this long post! Have you created a pocket letter? It's a very cool & creative process---that I can handle in 6 pockets! Lol... *Ü*

¡Adiós amigas!

Teacher Treat Bag

Hi ya friends,
I wanted to share the end of the year gifts (well, the packaging, really)  I gave to the teachers in my department. I wanted to give them a small token of appreciation for all the great work they do. I didn't have a lot of time and I needed to make seven of them, so this is what I came up with that was quick & cute!
Here they are:

They're all the same except for the pattern on the bags. They are embossed *Ü*
I thought embossing the little Kraft paper bags took them from simple to simply beautiful! I reeeeally liked how they came out & best of all it was so super simple to do!

Here's what I did:
I bought the little bags at Mike's. They measure 3 1/2" x 2" x 6 3/4". They come in many colors, but Kraft goes with everything *Ü*

First, you take the base flap and fold back it so that the 2 flaps meet:

Next, choose your embossing folder and tuck it in. I used the large 5 x 7 folders, but...
...you can use the smaller A2 folders by running it through twice, pulling it through the slit at the top. (as shown below).
 Here's the end result:
Isn't that preeeetty! Couldn't be easier.

Here's one last look at a completed bag:
I used the Good Apple stamp set from Lawn Fawn for the chalkboard. I wrote a little message on the back of the little chalkboard tag for each of them & attached it with a cork board clip from Mike's as well (they're on clearance *Ü*)

 Back view:
I put some treats and a Starbucks gift card inside.

I hope I've inspired you to emboss your treat bags and send those teachers off to summer vacation with a smile!

Thanks for peeking today!

ConGRADulations!

Well Hello friends,
It's that super busy time of the year--->the end! Yes, we are wrapping up another year in the hallowed halls of Hogwarts School. I've been a busy little teacher putting my classroom away for the summer.

Today, I have a simple graduation card. It was speedy quick to make!
Here it is:
I used the CB Congrats embossing folder in the background, added a strip of gold foil card stock along the side and added the mortarboards along it. See! Speedy quick!

Here's another peek:

I used this week's MFT sketch *Ü*
Thanks so much for peeking. I have a teacher appreciation gift idea coming next!
Ciao!

No mistakes, Just opportunities

Hi ya friends,
I thought I'd share the thank you card I made for my son's girlfriend. For Mother's Day, she was so kind and gave me a Starbucks tumbler. She had one a couple of weeks ago & I told her I liked it. She remembered & gifted me with one. *Ü*

Here's the pic of the card & the tumbler:
I die cut the tumbler from gold cardstock & sponged in some red ink to match the tumbler.

I thought I was top cheddar with my cleverness until I noticed the bendy straw... the real one has a straight straw. If I'm one thing, it's a stickler for details. So I carefully tried to remove the bendy straw and replace it with a straight straw...it ripped a little...

What to do? Start over? Try to put the bendy straw back? Noooo! I thought, "WWKD" (What Would Karli Do) A HA!!! Add some embellishments, of course *Ü*

I cut a strip of cardstock and added a couple more little hearts. Like I always say..."There are no mistakes in card-making. Just opportunities to embellish." *Ü*

Thanks so much for peeking today!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms (and those who provide the love, care, and support a momma does!)

Today, I have a couple of mommie's day cards to share with ya.
Here's the first:
This card is going to a friend. I added my boys (the goat & piggie) the mama hen (me, of course :) and my kitty, Tigress right in the center! I absolutely could not resist this stamp set from MFT---so cuuuute! I think she'll get a kick out of this card *Ü*

The next card is for my Grammy:
This card was so simple, but really pretty in real life. I used the In Bloom impressions folder on the card. Heat embossed the words in gold on vellum cs, & added a few sequins. Dunzo! Couldn't be easier!

I hope you have a beautiful, Amazing, and wonderful day!
Thanks so much for peeking!

Feliz Cumpleaños

Hola friends,
I have a little something I made to add to the décor of my classroom.
Here it is:
I mean, you can't have a fiesta without a piñata? I used this cutie from La La Land Crafts called Piñata Marci. I luv how she's peeking from under the bandana to make sure she hits it! *Ü* Took one from the Karli playbook ;) wink. She's colored with Copics. The background was created with Distress Inks. All the little candy got a coat of glossy accents & are popped up on foam tape.

I have so many fun piñata memories... and so do my boys. Gotta luv the simple things in life *Ü*

Thanks for peeking today. Have a FUN-filled day!

From Miss to Mrs.

Hi friends,
I have a quick card to share with you today I made for a friend's bridal shower.
Here it is:
I used vellum cardstock for the card base and embossed it with the Rose Garden EF (embossing folder) and OH my word, it looks so preeeetty! Gotta keep that idea in the bat files to use again. I was worried that it might tear through the vellum, but it came out perfectly *Ü* I heat embossed the sentiment in silver detail embossing powder & popped it up with clear foam tape.

This card was so speedy quick to make, but it looks very elegant IRL (in real life.) Yay!

Thanks so much for peeking today. Have great one!

HB Grammy

Hi friends,
It's Grammy's birthday! She's 88 years young and still lookin' fierce!
I made this card for her:
My Grammy and I luuuuv orchids so I had to make her card with these pretty vellum ones. It's one of those where my terrible photog skills don't do it justice :(   I have many different orchid dies, but these Magnolia dies are by far the easiest to use- and the orchids come out sooooo prettyful!!!

I also added a couple of peacock feathers in gold cardstock (also Magnolia dies). I think Grammy will like it *Ü*

That's it for today. Thanks so much for peeking!
