This weekend my sister, Crafty Gator, and I are going to attempt a combined birthday party for all four of our children... if we can have a day with no rain! We let each kid pick a theme. So for one we have Arctic Animals! This is the banner for that one! I don't have the ribbon in it to attach the pieces of the banner yet because I will add that on Sunday when we set up the tables.
I used Accent Essentials for the snowflakes and circles. The Polar Bear is from Animal Kingdom. The font and penguins are from Zooballoo. The bears and penguins are embossed in my brand new Big Kick (wooo hooo) using a Fiskars template of snowflakes. The cardstock is all value pack cardstock.... I love it when I use that AND a I am happy with the outcome!
I am entering this banner into Desert Island Crafts Challenge. You need to use 3 items from the itinerary. I used ribbon, die cuts, and dry embossing.

How to do letters for Birthday banner
If you are looking to see how I did the letters featured at this post you are in the right place ;) If you haven't seen that post jump on over and take a look!
The lettering on this post is from A Child's Year.
1. Cut the letters on Core'dinations cardstock.
2. Cut the letters out on a cereal box.
For this I use deep cut blade set at 5.
3. I then embossed my letters on the cardstock using my Fiskars ShapeBoss and the "Stars" plate.
I love using embossing with this paper because it really does make it stand out more with the color core.
4. I sanded the letter after embossing with 120.
5. Ink the edges of the cereal box letters to match the cardstock letters.
6. I then used rubber cement to adhere the cardstock to the cereal box.
I hope this helps!

First Blog Hop- 100th day of school banner
I have never done a blog hop... I created a blog just so I could participate in things like this so here is my first chance!
My Pink Stamper is doing the blog hop. I watch her blog faithfully and am pretty excited about participating. The challenge was to do black with our favorite colors. I teach Kindergarten so when I do something for school I LOVE any bright colors I can get my hands on! Monday we are celebrating our 100th day of school so I thought this was a good excuse to make a banner.
To do this I used Celebrations and Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridges. I would love any feedback on this project or my others. I am new to this and love when people share ideas with me!!!
Most of all THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
