... I've been crafting for ourselves. Cushion covers -four were cut, one was sewn- & drying mats -two were actually made- (inspired by Amanda Soule)... I've been planning other things to craft for ourselves, like making new "curtains" for under the kitchen countertops. (not sure I already showed them to you, but you might have spotted them on Flickr)
to actually make something for my family & my home, fills my heart with joy ! I suppose that crafting for my own self will occur after I will have crafted enough for my family & home.
... I've been embroidering. I work by phases, or waves, as I may have already told you, and right now is an "embroidering" phase/wave.... I have been dyeing. I dyed last weekend with sage (salvia officinalis), and you can read about it here. I have also posted another post about looking back a little, after ten months of actual dyeing experiments. You might enjoy the photos, if you go read the post.
tomorrow, hubby & I will go back there. Mainly for walking most of the day, and getting a good workout. And also for exploring, sans children, and for finding new things to dye with. That's where we had found immortelle flowers & Italian buckthorn, that we used for dyeing back at the end of spring.
... and lastly, I'be been looking at things through the microscop. A sage leaf, first.... then a drop of blood, coming directly from my thumb, after I poked myself a hundred times when sewing.ok, I think it's enough photos & blabla for one day.

It's lovely that you have spent time crafting for home. I've been embroidering too. Maybe it's the new season approaching but that's all my fingers really want to do.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and hubby enjoy your time walking together. Have a lovely weekend. Jx
Your embroidery work is always very beautiful. Those microscopic images are so lovely. How on earth do you photograph them?
ReplyDeletewow what magnification is that - got my son a usb microscope for his birthday but I don't think it would see things in that much detail.
ReplyDeleteLeafs under the microscope look cosmic! Your autumn mood is getting to me, especially when it's bad weather where I live.
ReplyDeleteYour embroideries are looking lovely. A beautiful choice of fabric - I love the imagery of corn.
ReplyDeleteI am so enjoying your blog! I am especially loving seeing your crafts :)
