Patterned Paper Balloons

I just made an order from Two Peas because I realized I've serious depleted my patterned paper stock. Usually this isn't a problem, but making an order always takes me so long I've kind of put it off. There is always too much to choose from and I'm always thinking there might be something I have to have release next week. Weird, I know.

For one of the recent magazine calls, I decided I would just make my own patterned paper with Look Up! and I was surprised at how much I liked the way it turned out.

To make this card, I cut a 3.75" x 5" piece of white cardstock, and I ran it through my die cut machine. I always try to die cut my piece first. I can't tell you how many smudged images I've had from not doing it first! And it is totally frustrating!

Once I had it die cut I started stamping with the larger balloon. Then I filled in the with two smaller balloons. Lastly, I masked off the larger balloon and used the cloud from You're Dandy. The scale on these two stamps work perfectly together.

Once I finished I just stamped my Chatterbox sentiment on my card base, adhere the patterned paper with foam tape, tied my bow and I was done!

Stamps: Look Up!, Chatterbox, You're Dandy (Practicing Creativity)
Ink: Aqua Mist (Papertrey Ink); French Lilac, Moulin Rouge (Palette); Poppy Chalk Ink (Hero Arts); Onyx Black (Versa Fine)
Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah); Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink)
Ribbon: Hawaiian Shores Grosgrain (Papertrey Ink)
Die Cut: Framed Greetings (My Favorite Things)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday!

EBTKS Challenge 21

It's time for another EBTKS challenge! Kelly has a great inspiration for us this week:
Who knew you could get inspiration while washing your clothes! EBTKS is all about find inspiration in our everyday lives. Here's this challenge's sketch:
I wasn't exactly sure where this sketch was going to take me, but I'm very satisfied with the result. However, it was certainly a journey and if you watch the video below you'll kind of see that what I think I'm going to end up with isn't always what happens.
At some point during the creative process I realized this card might make an interesting video (or maybe not, but I made one).

Or you can watch it at YouTube here.

The idea of the flowers comes completely from my buddy Shemaine at Love My Tapes! You can see her video here. Speaking of Love My Tapes, we are currently out of our Fabric Tapes in the Practicing Creativity store, but there are more on their way very soon! But don't worry, this week's sponsor is Love My Tapes!

This week's winner will win a 4 pack of their super strong adhesive (seriously this stuff will hold microbeads), 1 roll of fabric tape, and 1 sheet of fabric paper!

And I know you are going to want to go check out what the other girls made with Kelly's fab sketch! Come play along with us at EBTKS!

Introducing Chatterbox

Thank you all for your excited comments about The Whole Cycle and my news about 2 Sketches 4 You! There was a lot of talk at CHA about how sweet crafters are, and it's totally true. Today, I'm excited to show you the second set we are releasing on August 5, Chatterbox.

This set is a go-to sentiment set. Seriously, the different combinations are endless. I wanted to break out the cute little tricycles set from yesterday's set, The Whole Cycle to use with my Chatterbox card. Chatterbox has five large sentiments and a whole host of smaller sentiments to combine with to create a tons of unique cards.
This is a pretty different color combo for me, but I like the way it turned out. And of course broke out some of my favorite black twill!
I used the large congratulations and the small kiddo stamp. I think they work so well with the little tricycle.

I have a very quick video to show you more about Chatterbox!

You can also watch the video here on YouTube!

Now check out what the design team did!
Dana made this super gorgeous card using The Whole Cycle and Chatterbox. The "Seriously" stamp has to be one of my favorite! The exclamation marks come as a separate so you can create your own look for your sentiment.
Paulina, rocks the The Whole Cycle again, but she also used Chatterbox in a really cool way. Sometimes it's easy to forget that clear stamp can be curved to create a unique stamp. And isn't that color combo so pretty!
Karen creates this really fun card, and seriously I love it. She used the sentiments from Chatterbox as her sentiment! And honestly this is just the beginning of all the cool sentiments you ca create!

I also wanted to let you know we will be carrying some of those fabric tapes I love so much in the Practicing Creativity store!

We'll be back tomorrow to show a video and our non-card projects ! Chatterbox is sure to be a set that you use again and again!

But before you leave let us know who you "Seriously Love?" We'll pick one person to win Chatterbox!
