Back to School!!

Well, I wouldn't let Cory take my picture of my first day of school but I just have to say this year is so much better than last year! As far as me being prepared, that is. I know what to expect now. I had a wonderful class last year and I have a good class this year. Cory is excited because I don't have to do much work at home now! Yay!!

First Day of School!!!

Kaylee is a big first grader!! She was so excited to start school. Ashley wanted to be in the picture even though her first day of school isn't until September 2nd!

A mess at Grandpa's

A little over a month ago, my Grandpa Lee's basement flooded from what we thought was the recent rain storm. My mom tried to suck up the water but there was too much so a guy came to clean up the water. To suck up the water and haul off the carpet pad he charged my Grandpa $3500. Because it was a rain storm the insurance wouldn't cover it. My Grandpa doesn't go down in his basement often because it is hard for him to make it down the stairs.

Cory went over yesterday morning with the intention of cutting out the sheet rock that was moldy, laying padding and re-stretching the carpet. He went down into the basement and he found it full of water again. There hadn't been a rain storm recently so he went investigating. Come to find out, the sprinklers have been causing the problem. Evey time the sprinklers turn on they fill up the landing at the bottom of the stairs and then the water comes in the house. Here are a few pictures of what it looks like. That is the mold on the sheet rock.

There is a drain on the landing but the ground is so saturated with water, it wasn't draining.
But the good news is, since the water is coming from the sprinklers not rain water, the insurance will cover it and they are going to reimburse him for the $3500 he put out earlier.

Swimming Lessons

I finally signed Kaylee op for swimming lessons. It was the last two weeks of summer and she loved it. Apparently I should have signed her up sooner, she was quite the swimmer! Here she is waiting for her time to go in the pool! Going down the slide is always fun!
Getting ready to go off the diving board. This was her first time going off with out a life jacket!
Swimming to the edge of the pool!
Trying to get those "big ice cream scoop" arms! I'm so proud of her!!

Salem Day's Parade!

For those of you who know us, we are not parade people, so imagine every one's surprise when they heard I was going to be in the parade and so was Cory! Cory drove the trailer that was the Foothills Elementary float! Some of the teachers from school risked being pulled by Cory and we spent a half hour throwing books and candy to the crowds!
GO FALCONS!!!!

Payson Fire

Yesterday afternoon my house was over come with smoke. I looked outside and it looked like the fire was just over the ridge from my house. Luckily, Cory called and told me it was above Spring Lake, jus south of Payson. Here is the fire reflecting off of Spring Lake. (I stole these pictures from the news) That is a house in the lower right corner. It came so close to houses it was scary.
This is a subdivison at the south end of Payson Main Street.

More shots from the south end of Main Street.
