Snowing in September!

I don't know if you can see in the pictures but there is snow! It has been raining all day and Kaylee came running in to tell me it was snowing! I love this time of year. It makes me want to build a fire, make a pot of soup, homemade bread (well Rhodes homemade bread!) and put on some sweats and curl up under a blanket!

Driving miss Ashley

Kaylee was finding it hard to ride her bike so she opted for the jeep. I love this picture from behind with her arm sticking up. She wouldn't put it down.

And the color is...

PINK! She actually decided on purple but half way through wrapping the cast the stuff started to harden and they didn't have any more purple so they topped it off with pink. Kaylee wanted Ben to be the first to sign her cast!

Steal from the poor, give to the rich!

Cory dumped all his change from his change jar into the girls piggy banks and then decided he needed some of it back! I heard him in there shaking the bank and the girls were helping him!

Broken Arm

This morning I was having a discussion with my class about the wonderful 5th grade book "There's a boy in the girls bathroom" and the secretary came into my class. She called me over to the door and said I need to go to the office because they thought Kaylee had broken her arm. I ran down there and she was sitting in the chair. Once she saw me the tears started up even harder then they already were! She was holding her arm and told me she fell off the monkey bars. I ran her to the doctors and they were wonderful and got her right back and within 20 minutes they had X-rays, and the doctor was in with us. She has a buckle fracture right above her wrist. The doctor said it was a "pretty good one". Kaylee was so brave, they put it in a splint and once the swelling goes down we are going back to get a "red" cast! Katie, Mat, Ben and Sam came to visit Kaylee and brought her some ice cream and a book! Katie helped me bathe Kaylee to make sure we didn't get her arm wet. Then she got cozy on the chair and is waiting for me to read her new book to her.
As long as we keep on top of the pain, she stays in a pretty good mood!

Girls just want to have fun...and sleep!

Ashley loves to hang on the back pockets of pants and will grab onto just about anyone who is close. Her dad is her favorite! Kaylee hooked on the train and followed him around the house!The other morning Ashely woke up and I got her dressed and took her in the bathroom to do her hair. I sat her on the cupboard and got in the drawer to get hair stuff. I stood back up and Ashley had leaned over on the counter top and fallen back asleep! I did her hair and laid her down on my bed and she fell back asleep. A few minutes later she woke up and wanted cereal. I fixed her a bowl and went back to finish getting ready. I went in to check on her and this is how I found her!
I woke her up again and took her to Katie's for the day. Katie called me not long after I left her house and told me Ashley was asleep on the couch! She must have been tired!

Pie in the face!

The principal of our school is so awesome! We have a school wide dicipliary system called "think time" and once a month they have some fun activity to reward the kids who don't get a think time. It works well! This months activity was a student got to throw a pie in his face! (what a good sport). A little second grader had the honor and the kids loved it!

Sisters

I was looking through some picture and I came across this one and a memory came flooding back! When I look at my two sweet girls here it reminds me of when my little sister, Katie, use to climb in bed with me. Often time I would read to her, and my mom even caught a picture or two. Katie and I shared a room so we always got to talk the night away! Kaylee and Ashley do not share a room and Ashley is always begging to go into "Kay Kee's" room. I am so glad they love to play together and like each other!! I love my little girls!!

5th grade romance!

I am having so much fun teaching 5th graders. I have got the best class! I told them today that Cory and I met in the fifth grade. We were in the same class, and that is when the teasing began! Ah- the memories! I love you sweetie!!! Anyway, I told this to my class and they all looked around the class and I said "Oh yes, take a look around, your future spouse could be in this room!" This seemed to disgust most of the kids in the class and the rest just turned red with embarrassment. They are so fun!

Payson Onion Day Carnival!!

I took the girls on the Ferris Wheel and half way through Ashley was telling me she wanted off! To late for that!
The girls went on this "obstical course" and Ashley got stuck on the rope climb so Cory had to go in after her!

First day of Kindergarten

Kaylee started Kindergarten this year! I can't believe she is that old. She was excited to get ready for school but as the time got closer she started to get nervouse. You can see it in her face when she got to school! But she loved it and can't wait to go back everyday!

1. Where did you meet your husband?
5th grade, Mrs. Brady's class!

2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
I don't remember what I said to him but I do remember the first thing he said to me. He
was walking behind me and stepped on my sandals and the strap broke and he said "Kmart,
fall apart, Kmart fall apart"!! He still laughs to this day!

3. What was your first date?
It was our senior year of high school and we went on a group date to Pizza Hut, then back to
Cory's house to watch a movie.

4. Where was your first kiss?
In my parents laundry room. Cory was going home and he gave me a quick kiss and ran out
the door!!!

5. Did you have a long engagement?
Nope! We were engaged in March, married in June!

6. Where did you get engaged?
In the parking lot of Fast Gas (a local gas station!) For those of you who know Cory, this
seems fitting! We were pulled over by a cop and the cop searched Cory's truck because it
matched the description of a stolen truck. Then the cop said he found something and pulled
out a dozen roses, and I looked at Cory and he was down on one knee!

7. Where did you get married?
The Salt Lake Temple.

8. Where was your reception?
In Cory's parents back yard! It was beautiful. They have a pond, with a waterfall and
everything was perfect!!

9. Where was your Honeymoon?
We went on a Cruise to the Mexican Riviera!! It was beautiful and we want to go on a cruise
again!!
