2018: Georgia, Oregon and New York Self-Immolations

Self-immolations have been a form of political protest in modern times since a number of Buddhist monks (including the most famous case of Thích Quảng Đức) immolated themselves by fire in protest of the persecution of Buddhists under the administration of Roman Catholic President Ngô Đình Diệm in South Vietnam. The immolations spread through Asia and to America from 1963 to 1971.

In the third known high-profile fire suicide attempt of 2018, a man is fighting for his life at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital with burns to 85 to 90 percent of his body.

Georgia Veteran

A veteran who was fed up with treatment by the Department of Veterans Affairs set himself on fire in protest outside of the Georgia State Capitol building (seen above) in downtown Atlanta on June 26, 2018.

The 58-year-old from Mableton, Georgia, who has not yet been identified, parked his car alongside the Capitol before walking toward the building, where he commenced self-immolation, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

“He was strapped with some homemade incendiary devices (and) firecrackers, and doused himself with some kind of flammable liquid,” Georgia State Patrol Captain Mark Perry told the Atlanta newspaper.

The Georgia immolation appears to follow the same pattern of the immolation of Charles Ingram, a 51-year-old Gulf War veteran, who grew increasing frustrated by the Department of Veterans Affairs. In March 2016, shortly before his VA appointment, Ingram went to the clinic in Northfield, N.J., doused himself in gasoline and lit himself on fire. The clinic was closed at the time. He died.

Chloe Sagal

Exactly a week before, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, a person lit themselves on fire in Lownsdale Square (see above), the park located across from the Multnomah County Courthouse in downtown Portland, Oregon.

The person entered the park, on crutches, and barely able to walk, wearing a red scarf around the neck. Then the individual sat down and began reading a statement about homelessness and mental health issues. The person died at the hospital.

The local media reported some confusion about the gender of the person. It turns out it was video developer Chloe Sagal, 31, who identified herself as trans.

Variety wrote:
Sagal was best known for her horror game “Homesick,” which follows the story of a woman searching for her friends inside the house where her family was murdered. She also made headlines in 2013 when she ran an Indiegogo campaign that was ostensibly for metal poisoning treatment. But, according to Eurogamer, the money was instead used for gender alteration surgery.
David Buckel

Another self-immolation of 2018 occurred on Saturday, April 14, 2018, when David Buckel, 60, a prominent green activist and lawyer for LGBT rights, died after setting himself on fire in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park protesting ecological destruction and global warming. The famed 60 year old attorney left behind a suicide note in which Buckel told of his intention of burning himself to death with "fossil fuel" in a bid to show how mankind was likewise killing itself. Buckel also worked as an urban gardener and ecologist with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, helping run what he called the largest composting program in the country to use only renewable sources of energy.

The New York Daily News headlined the story.

Daisy Chain: 33 in Zombieland Woe, Pokémon Go, and Beyoncé Show

The original meaning of a daisy chain is of a daisy garland created from daisy flowers, and from that a number of analogies have been created, from technological one to those which are sexual in nature. In terms of synchromysticism, it is a natural allusion to a series of seemingly unconnected coincidences that are linked from one to the other.

Let's begin on July 13, 2016, with the cover of the synchrosighted New York Post.

The lead headline gives us "Zombie Land" (even though the article tells us the specific location is spelled "Zombieland"), 33, Brooklyn, and the Walking Dead.

People blindly staggered through the streets of a Brooklyn neighborhood known as “Zombieland” Tuesday morning, propping themselves up against fire hydrants and vomiting foam down their shirts.
But the apocalyptic scene wasn’t for a movie. The victims had apparently smoked a bad batch of the “synthetic marijuana” drug known as K2 — and 33 people had to be hospitalized.
“It looked like a scene out of ‘The Walking Dead,’ ” said Brian Arthur, a lifelong Brooklyn resident who posted footage of the disheartening scene on Facebook. Source.
 33's, numero-13's, and zombie days/daze.

The pregnant synchromystical K2!!

This zombie-tale dovetails with the Pokémon Go Zombie craze. Zachary Hubbard notes that "Pokémon Go" sums to 666, much like "computer" and we all recall that Apple's first computer sold for $666.66.

The bottom banner-headline pulls the idea of 9-11, monsters, Pokémon Go, and therefore both kinds of zombies all together. The New York Post assists the method revealed.

So NYC gives us 33 zombies "on K2," humm? Regular Crowleyan mountain climbers, and most readers here know that Crowley was a noted, accomplished mountain climber, and had a home on the shores of Loch Ness. Talking about "monsters."

Dead bodies found, 666, and more...

Let us not forget Beyoncé.

Or as someone said to me this morning, "Queen Bee is Sirius food for thought."

Online, after posting about the altered image of a gunman in Michigan (to make him look more AfricanAmerican) and noting the OJ Simpson "blackened" imagery used by Time, a colleague wrote me:
i wonder if you'd heard about this idea that O.J.s "white bronco" ties in with modern Pro Sports alchemy, and the rather peculiar reality that some of these YTube numerologists predicted quite early the Broncos' success and did so while placing it all in a symbolic framework of "white horses vs. black panthers". One of these prognosticators even predicted well beforehand that there would be a tribute to the Black Panthers, bc he is so attuned to historic anniversaries. Which is one reason why he predicted the unlikely Lebron/Cavaliers (white horse there too) victory, coming as it did on the birthday of the historic King James.
And so there was, via Beyoncé.

Thus ends today's beginning "daisy chain" thoughts.

The Beginning: Cop Killer Copycats?

"This is just the beginning. There are people out there who will want to be copycats. The tension out there is the worst I’ve ever seen it," stated a police officer, who happened to be AfricanAmerican.
In a horrific moment, two New York City police officers were shot "execution-style" and killed December 20, 2014, Saturday afternoon, while in a parked patrol car in Brooklyn, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area pictured above.

In a somber news conference Saturday evening, New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton said the two officers were deliberately targeted. They were shot directly in their heads.

The officers were killed outside the Tompkins Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 2:45 p.m. Tompkins Avenue is photographed above, as near the site of this slaying. Tompkins is a patronymic form of Thomas, from the nickname Tom, and the added diminutive suffix "- kin," meaning near relative, plus the suffix "-s," itself a short form of "son." Thomas is ultimately of biblical origin, deriving from an aramaic byname meaning "twin," and was borne by one of Christ's disciples, best known for his skepticism about Christ's resurrection. Thus Tompkins means "twin sons" or "son of a twin."

A twin, of course, is literally a copycat.

Bratton acknowledged the danger officers face as part of the "thin blue line between us and anarchy....They were, quite simply, assassinated, targeted for their uniform and the responsibility they embraced," Bratton said. "Both were ambushed and murdered."

Bratton said the attacker approached the officers' vehicle from the passenger side and opened fire, shooting his weapon several times. The officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, "never had an opportunity to draw their weapons" and were "killed with no warning, no provocation...They may have never even seen their assailant, their murderer," Bratton said.

The suspect, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, fled to a nearby subway station, where he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Bratton said.

Earlier Saturday, Brinsley (pictured) shot his former girlfriend, injuring her at a Baltimore County, Maryland, residence, Bratton said. Brinsley also posted on the victim's Instagram account, where his comments indicated Brinsley had a "very strong bias against" police, Bratton said.

The Internet postings appear to show Brinsley, who is black, wanted revenge for the deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and Eric Garner in Staten Island, N.Y., police said.

Shortly before the shooting, Instagram user "dontrunup" posted a photo of a silver handgun with wooden grips and the caption: "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours … Let's take 2 of theirs. #shootthepolice #ripericgardner #ripmikebrown This may be my final post … I'm putting pigs in a blanket."

“I’m putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours ... let’s take 2 of theirs,” Brinsley, 28, wrote on Instagram. This alludes to copycatting and twinning, sadly.

The Instagram account is linked to Facebook user named Bleau Barracuda, who police said appears to be Brinsley.

Reports are that Ismaaiyl Brinsley, the gunman, murdered in the name of the Jihad. Ads stating such bias were to be seen in ads on NYC subway clocks, on the waiting platforms. Note this 23 Street location.

A period of police officer shootings occurred in a concentrated fashion, said to be attributed to Black Panthers and the Black Liberation Army, during the 1969-1971 timeframe.

7:20 Wednesday: Justin Bourque, St. Hubert, and Don Zimmer

From L-R: James Larche, Fabrice Gevaudan, Joseph Ross, were the Mounties killed in Wednesday’s shooting in Moncton, N.B. They are profiled here.
+++
UPDATE: A gunman who killed three police officers and wounded two others in Canada is in custody after more than a day on the run, authorities said Friday.

Police took Justin Bourque, 24, at 12:10 a.m. Friday (11:10 p.m. ET Thursday), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.

The suspect, dressed in fatigues and armed with a rifle, went on a rampage Wednesday evening in Moncton, New Brunswick, authorities say.

The time was 7:20 pm Atlantic Time, and something was going badly wrong in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Justin Bourque was beginning a shooting rampage, and within minutes, he would kill three Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and injury two others.

Heavily armed RCMP officers patrolled the small east coast city overnight in the search for 24-year-old Justin Bourque, a Moncton man who was wearing military camouflage and carrying two rifles in a picture (above) released by police on Twitter. Thursday, Bourque was still at large.

Police said he was armed and dangerous and urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Moncton, a city of about 69,000 people, is about 95 miles northeast of St. John, New Brunswick.

Justin Bourque's name game...

Justin is a boy's name of Latin origin, meaning "just, upright, righteous." Variant of Justus.
Bourque is French, a reduced form of Bourrique, from a personal name, probably a derivative of bourre "tawny, fawn" (from Latin burrus), hence denoting a man with tawny hair.
An alternative meaning for Bourque is "a dweller at, or near a stronghold or fortified place."

Local Moncton eyewitnesses snapped photos of Bourque as he walked through their city on his shooting spree.

Bourque posted images of himself and a friend on Facebook, heavily armed.

Justin Bourque's last Facebook message, reportedly, was lyrics from a Megadeath song.
Armed and dangerous: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police tweeted an image of suspected cop killer Justin Bourque, 24, wearing military camouflage and wielding two guns. He was still on the run Thursday. The manhunt continues for the tawny-haired righteous dweller, who may now be at a fortified stronghold.

7:20 on Wednesday Night. Different time zones, the same numbers.

At 7:20 pm Eastern, 4:20 pm Pacific, a Harrier AV-8B jet crashed into a residential community in Imperial, California, about 90 miles east of San Diego, Wednesday. It went down in a front yard, damaging three homes. The pilot ejected safely and no one on the ground was hurt. Also, on Wednesday at about 10 pm Pacific, another U.S. Navy jet, a F/A-18E Super Hornet crashed into the ocean off the Southern California coast while the pilot was attempting to land on the San Diego-based carrier USS Carl Vinson. The pilot ejected safely, but the plane was not recovered.

Police Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce spoke about the St, Hubert case during the news conference.

At 7:20 pm Eastern, a New York news conference was beginning, detailing the stabbing of two young children and a teenager in Brooklyn this past weekend. Police say Daniel St. Hubert, 27, was the suspect. Sources say St. Hubert had served the maximum sentence of five years before being released on community supervision on May 23. They also say he was denied his initial conditional release on September 6, 2013. Police say the suspect fatally stabbed Prince Joshua Avitto "PJ" Avitto, 6, and wounded his friend Mikayla Capers, 7, Sunday inside an elevator at the Boulevard Houses public housing complex in East New York. It is thought the same man fatally stabbed Tanaya Copeland, 18, last Friday, but said at the press conference that St. Hubert was only being sought in connection with Sunday's stabbings. Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton released a photo of St. Hubert and asked for the public's help finding him. The official briefing ended, and St. Hubert was apprehended by detectives shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday in the vicinity of 145 Street and 133 Avenue in Jamaica, Queens.

7:20 in Florida? A couple hours after Don Zimmer's Wednesday night passing, the Tampa Bay Rays announced to their baseball crowd during the fifth inning that the legendary baseball man had died.

Donald William Zimmer (January 17, 1931 – June 4, 2014) was an American infielder, manager, and coach in Major League Baseball. Zimmer was involved in professional baseball from 1949 until his death, a span of 66 years. Zimmer was a figure of some controversy, once charging the mound in 2003, swinging at, but being thrown to the ground by Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez. Zimmer was nicknamed "El Galleguito" (The Gallegan) in Cuba and "El Soldadito" (The Small Soldier) in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Persian Yellow Dogs Killed In Brooklyn

A former member of The Yellow Dogs, an indie Persian band located in Brooklyn, killed three current members on Monday, 11.11.13, before turning the gun on himself.

According to the New York Post, the former Yellow Dog used a semi-automatic rifle in the attack, which started just after midnight on Monday morning. The gunman wounded one person outside before walking inside the apartment, where he killed two people on the second floor and one person—who was reportedly still in bed—on the third floor. Two people hid in the apartment's first floor bathroom; they were both unharmed. The shooter then climbed to the building's roof and shot himself in the head, according to the NYPD.

The alleged shooter has been identified as Raefe Ahkbar. According to the Wall Street Journal, Ahkbar was kicked out of the band sometime in the past year for selling the group's equipment.

The dead victims were also identified:

Soroush Farazmand, 27, a guitarist in the band
Ali Eskandarian, 35, the band's singer
Arash Farazmand, the band's drummer

Sasan Sadeghpourosko, 22, was shot twice in his right arm and is in stable condition.

Akhbar, also known as Aliakba killed several of ex-bandmates from the The Yellow Dogs in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

According to the Metro’s New York office, Aliakbar then turned the gun on himself in East Williamsburg.

Akhbar was apparently angry because his bandmates kicked him out. Police told the Metro that they found out that he was selling off band members’ equipment.

Officials said that he fired a number of rounds inside at building in 318 Maujer St., killing his ex-bandmates.

Farazmand, 27, was found dead in a second-floor bedroom with a chest wound, while Farazmand was found dead on the third floor with a head wound, and Ali Eskandarian was found dead on the third flood with a head wound.

Sasan Sadeghpouroskou, 22, was the only survivor of the attack.

“A male shot three victims, killing them,” a police spokesman told AFP. “It also appears that the shooter killed himself on the roof of that location.”

The Yellow Dogs were an indie rock band that formed several years ago in Tehran, Iran, but moved to Booklyn. All of the band's members were from Iran and were featured in an award-winning documentary, No One Knows About Persian Cats, about underground rock music in Tehran. Shortly after the documentary was released in 2009, the band members left for the United States, where they were granted asylum in 2010.
