Just imagine...

Hi there Copic loversElena F here from Scrap-lanak Ganbaran.
I made a mixed-media background card using my Copic Airbrush system and staying out of my "comfort zone" with a Prima stamp coloured using the No Lines Colouring Technique. I stamped with Memento London Fog Grey Ink.

Here is the finished project picture, but after that, you've got step by step pictures on how I coloured the flowers and at the end of the post, a few step pictures to see how I made the background.

The copic colours I´ve used to colour my stamp:
Skin: E0000, 00, 21, 11, 13
Flowers: R46, 43, R05, YR04, R20
Hair: E77, 57, 35, 53
To airbrush the background:
BG72, E35, 37, YG03, G94, Y06
I felt like colouring the flowers in a red but with a touch of orange.
I started colouring the flowers with R46
Then I coloured the middle tones with R05
Finaly I coloured ending the reds with the ligthest one R43
Now to add my orange touches in the ligthest zones of the flowers I used YR04
and finaly I blended the ligthest with R20

Now for the background I used my Copic Airbrush. This is not a necesary tool to colour but really it´s so fun.

First I airbrushed the entire surface of my cardstock with BG72. Then I started airbrushing some brick wall with one stencil in E35 and 37 here and there to make it more interesting and not too plain.

I wanted to add hints of ivy and I made it airbrushing with another stencil: YG03 and some random branches with G94

No worries about the size of my surface as this is going to be resized to fit perfectly with my coloured stamp size.

With one texture paste and another stencil I tried to make some rays of light, to make my stamp emanate its own light. After the paste dried I airbrushed on top with my Y06 marker.
I made it with sand texture paste as this dries slightly translucent and after airbrushing it maintains this translucent and shiny look.

A few more deep airbrushed branches again, more texture paste and it looks like this:

I finished with some random stamping, adding a bit of wax, cutting the excess and It´s done!
Finally, I fussy cut and mounted the image on foam to emphasize her on my project.
Hope you enjoyed.
Thanks for sticking with me to the end!

Copic airbrush

Hi Copic lovers; welcome to the Copic Marker Europe Blog.

For my DT inspiration today I'm using my Copic Airbrush in an "not usual copic colouring project".

This is the finished project picture (some mixed media candles), but after that, you've got step by step pictures on how I made it.

I'm using Fimo Light Modelling Paste as it quickly air dries.

Start modelling the design you desire

I covered the outside of the candle metal support with my clay

Time to colour my clay. I always when I'm using the Airbrush usually start by refilling my marker

The usual position (we could use either nib but this explanation could be for an another tutorial) for the marker into the Airbrush gun looks like this

Start airbrushing the clay

You can also skip the clay step and go directly to colour the metal surface of the candle holder directly

Now take one stencil of your choice and put it onto the top of the candle to airbrush a little design directly to the candle wax

Your project will look something like this

Add some wax to the Fimo and.......voilá.......some pretty tealight personalised candle in mixed media style using your Copics.

I hope you have enjoyed my post and hope you found it inspiring

Have a nice day.

Season's Greetings

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today with another winter scene - now is really the time to make winter cards!

I have used one of my not so recent Penny Black stamps called Snowy & Hedgy. I stamped and masked my image, added a couple masks to create the hills and airbrushed the background. I then coloured my scene and thought I would add a frame inspired by a number of cards I have seen recently. I cut a rectangle with a die, stamped a CC Designs sentiment on it and put it on foam squares.

Sky: B00, B41, BG000, BV00
Hills: B00, C1
Snowman: 100, BG000, C0, 1, 3, Y17, YR04
Hat: R35, 37, 39, 89, W0, 1, 3
Scarf: B95, 97, 99, R35, 37, 39, 89
Hedgehog's Skin: E000, 00, 21, E70
Fur: T0, 1, 3W1, 3, 5

Thank you very much for your visit, have a great weekend! Hugs,

Tutorial - Simple Airbrushing for 100% Copic Scene

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share a tutorial on a 100% Copic card with a simple airbrushed background - I absolutely love the look of airbrushed backgrounds!

For today's example, I chose to do a simple winter scene with a character and just a couple of trees. Please note, I did not stamp and mask the character on my scene because I knew I wanted to add it at the end on 3D foam squares, but it is of course possible to stamp it at the beginning.

Material used for my card:
Airbrush and Copics
Masking Film or Post It notes
Make It Crafty Pine Trees Rubber stamps
Gorjuss Girl

Step 1

Stamp the elements you need on your scene, starting with what you want to be in the foreground first. To mask, I used Post It Label Pads which have 100% adhesive backs, and picked different colours to show you clearly the different parts of the scene.
Here, I stamped the little tree first where I wanted it, masked it (yellow), then I added orange strips around my "scene" to have an uncoloured frame at the end. I then stamped the tree on the left and masked it (pink). I thought I would have a little snow slope, so I just cut and put pieces of blue Post It Notes to create the slope and protect it from the airbrushing.

Step 2

Airbrush your lightest colour B00 going from left to right and right to left from the bottom of the image and stop midway of your sky. I like using 2 different shades for airbrushed skies (here Bs and BVs) and I always start with my lightest colour, so I can darken the colour afterwards if necessary.

Step 3

Now start at the top of your image with your second shade - BV02 here - and go down little by little towards the blue area. Airbrush over the beginning of the blue part so that your colours look blended.

Step 4

Darken the sky at the top, using BV04 and stop in the BV02 area. The transition between the 2 BV areas is a bit too visible, but we will work on it in the next step:)

Step 5

Take your BV02 again and go over all the BV04 and BV02 areas starting from the top and being careful to add enough BV02 on the transition to blend it a little and airbrush on the upper part of the blue area too.

Step 6

Now remove your masks and check the result of your airbrushing. And now all you have to do is use your Copics to colour your scene.

Here is my finished card...

Skin: E000, 00, 11
Hair: B41, C5, 7, 100
Purples: V09, 12, 15, 17
Blues: B34, 37, 39
Hearts: R37
Background: B00, BV02, 04
Trees: BG000, C0, 1, 3, E31, 35, 59, G28, YG03, 17, 67
Snow: BG000, C0, 1, 3

That's all from me today! Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely Sunday! Hugs,

Keep on Rockin... and Airbrushing!

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share another 100% Copic card with a little bit of airbrushing this time. I love all kinds of backgrounds on images and airbrushing is a very simple and nice way to make a background! Here is what I have done...

I used a Make It Crafty digi called Felicity, masked her and put my Dutch Doobadoo Bricks Mask over her. I then used my airbrush, going from my lightest colour (to make sure I didn't go too dark) to my darkest and then back from the darkest to my lightest to "blend" it all a little. I removed the stencil and airbrushed some E42 in places so the white between the bricks would not be too white. I then coloured Felicity with my Copics and added a sentiment by Some Odd Girl.

Skin: E000, 00, 02, 11, 23, R20
Hair: 100, C5, 7, 9
Eyes: BG000
Shorts, Scarf, Hat: V09, 12, 15, 17
Jacket: E81, 84, 87, 89, Y26
Boots: C3, 5, 7, 9, Y26
Bricks: E13, 15, 19, 35, 42
Ground: W1, 3

I hope I have inspired you to try airbrushing too! Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely day! Hugs,
Delphine xx

An Airbrush tutorial by Miranda

Hi, it's Miranda again and today it's my turn to publish.
And even better I have a little tutorial for you to share.

I love to work with my copics and airbrush, because you can make such wonderful backgrounds in a very easy way. Let me show you how:

Step 1:
Choose a template that you like (I used the flower by Dutch Doobadoo)  and some copic colours (RV11, R24 and R59).
Put your marker with the chiselpoint in the airbrush and spray some ink through the template. If you keep your marker close to the template the colour will be more intense than if you keep a little distance. This way you can make variations in light and dark hues.
Be careful not to spray ink to close to the edge of the stencil because that will give you a ugly kind of border in the middle of your project.

Step 2:
Repeat with another colour.

Step 3:
And again I picked another colour.
Because the alcohol inks are transparant you can make some lovey layers.

step 4:
For my last layer I used another template (Diamond by Dutch Doobadoo) and another colour (YG07).
Red and Green are opposite each other in the colourwheel. When using inks or paints red and green would normally turn muddy, but the alcohol ink in the copics dry immediately after using. This gives us a great advantage over ink or paints, you can use it more easily on your project. Allthough you still have to be a little careful when layering it on dark red places because of the transparancy of the ink. It will look a bit muddy in such places.

Step 5:
Another fun way of using the templates is not adding another colour, but bleach out some colour by using the activator. Just spray a little activator through the stencil and see what happens.

Step 6:
I also like stamping with copics. Just add the copic ink with the chiselpoint on your stamp.
Spray a little activator on the stamp. Not too much otherwise your stamp will smudge. I like to keep a distance of about 20 cm or spray some activator in the air and move the stamp through the activatormist.

Step 7
I used 2 different stamps and 2 stencils. I never use more than 3 different stencils on small projects as it might look to heavy.

Step 8:
Use your background in a project. I used it to make a card for my mum's birthday.
I used an image by Aurora wings. Colours I used for colouring the image are:
E00, E02, E13, BV00, RV11, R0000, R24, R59,Y0000, YG07, YG17 and G94.
The flowers are from the hobby craftshop and are coloured with my airbrush too.

I hope you liked my tutorial. If you have any questions about this technique please let me know.

have a fabulous day

hugs
Miranda
