Ellie’s 1st day of 2nd grade

P1080524

What a cute girl!  Ellie was so excited to start school this year.  We hope she will always be this excited about school.  We’re so proud of her for always trying her best, and for being such a smart girl.  We can’t believe how fast she’s growing up!

Here’s to a great school year!

Pictures for a good cause…

Turns out I am very slow at getting my kids birthday pictures taken.  David and John turned four clear back in March, and I’m barely getting it done.  I decided to stop putting it off when I saw that a friend from high school is charging $50 a session, and donating the money to the White family.  Todd White, also a friend from high school,   was diagnosed with colon cancer about a year ago.  What a perfect way to help out a family in need.  If interested, check out my friend Amber’s blog.  www.welchdesigns.blogspot.com

Scenes From Swimming Lessons

The kids just finished swimming lessons for the summer.  They all did so awesome.  I was a little nervous because it was the boys first year, but I worried for nothing.  They loved it!  They tried everything and had a great time doing it.  All three “passed” their classes and can advance to a higher class next year.

We did have one scare on the very first day when John stepped off of the last stair and could barely keep his head out of the water.  Luckily, the teacher was an arm length away and grabbed him quickly.  (Plus, I was ready to jump in if I had too!) I am proud of him for being tough, and not being scared to get back in the water.

Ellie is such a great little swimmer.  In her class this year they learned the breaststroke, and she almost has it mastered.  Knowing how to swim is so important to me, I’m glad my kids love it!

Look what Ellie got…

I took Ellie to the Eye Dr. last week and we found out that she is a little bit nearsighted.  I only took her because we have vision insurance…I never really thought she would need glasses this early!  It turns out that glasses will help her see the board a little better in school, so I’m glad we went.  Plus, she is a total babe in her glasses.  SO CUTE!

David and John’s 1st Day of Preschool

P1060170edit

My boys are growing up too fast!  I read a quote on a blog this week that said, “The days are long, but the years are short.”  That pretty much sums up how I’ve been feeling lately.

David and John started preschool this week!  They have been looking forward to it all summer.  Technically, I started preschool this week too.  I am teaching a class at their preschool this year.  It was a big day for all of us!

The boys really loved their first day, and it will only get better from here on out.  I can’t believe all of the things they are going to learn this year.  We are so excited to watch them grow.

A Big Day for Ellie

Ellie lost her 1st tooth today!  She is so happy.  She has been looking forward to losing a tooth for a long time now.  She is excited about putting her tooth in her special tooth pillow tonight for the Tooth Fairy.  Her excitement is contagious.  What a cutie!
