Steele Must Go
Now he plays the race card. Fool. The RNC was effectively sidelined and had little to do with what happened on November 2. I gave a goodly sum of money this cycle, but not a penny to the RNC--why? Steele.

Steele Must Go (yes, again)
RNC Chairman Michael Steele is a buffoon, and he has no place running the Republican Party. His latest remarks on the War in Afghanistan reveal an ill-informed man who just doesn't know when to shut up. It is time for the adults in the Party to come together and remove this man.
As an aside--I've been working on a little defense and security insurgent effort, and I've been talking with Republicans in DC about the best place to site the effort. Something like what I'm trying to do was stood up in the RNC in the late 70's, and served as a springboard for much of the defense policy that was passed in the Reagan Administration. When I asked one guy in the know about such an effort under the RNC today--he said "not while Steele is there. The man is radioactive".
The Republican Party can no longer afford to have a man like this in charge.

Re-Arranging Deck Chairs on the RNC Titanic
It seems RNC Chairman Michael Steele has forced out his Finance Chairman and Deputy as a result of some embarrassing moves recently. Fine. Sounds good to me. But when is someone going to force Steele out.
I'm working on a little project in Washington right now. Fun, political stuff. Sorta "earning my bona fides" as it were. Whenever I talk to insiders about what the most effective amplifying mechanism for our work is, talk immediately turns to how toxic, radioactive and moribund the RNC is as an arm for such work. It is a damn shame. We're supposed to be the Party of Adults--it's time for the adults in charge to get rid of Steele and re-energize the RNC into an effective Party leadership organization.

RNC Ridiculosity
For those occasional lib/Dems who read the blog--and who are no doubt breathlessly waiting for me to either 1) ignore the RNC sex club story or 2) try to explain it away--I hate to disappoint you.
This story is terrible, the conduct reprehensible (not the going to a sex club part--that's a choice an individual is free to make. Using RNC money to do it--that's reprehensible), and the leadership of the RNC should take responsibility. I'm not saying "take responsibility" in a Japanese WWII way--but I do think Steele must go.

Steele Must Go
I was enthusiastic and excited about the naming of Michael Steele as the Chairman of the RNC. No more. It is time for him to go. Steele's turned into a promoter of....Michael Steele.....and not of the party.
His missteps just seem to mount. I find it incredible that the Chairman of the RNC--at this point in the run-up to the 2010 Congressional elections, is saying that the party can't retake majorities in 2010, and that he's only recently begun to look at the races.
I cans say we won't win back majorities--but he can't. He's got to push for it, he's got to be enthusiastic about it, he's got to inspire the ground troops.
It's time for him to go.
