Tornado?

When Christian was at practice last Wednesday a freakish storm blew over. It was like one of the micro-bursts that happen at Lake Powell. One minute you're enjoying the water and the beautiful sun and the next the wind is blowing the houseboat away from shore and the jet skies are floating across the lake. The storm brought quite a bit of rain and lightning so we were done early.

HHS versus Legacy High (NV)

It was scary to play a Vegas team. You never know what you're up against. I remember when Cory was playing and they went to Western. There were metal detectors for the players as well as the fans. Legacy was a great school to play. They were a very tough team. They run a similar offense to the Tigers and it was tough for us to stop. Adam Thompson wasn't scheduled to play but he toughed it out and gained some critical yardage to help the Tigers with a 43-34 victory over Legacy. On a couple of the shots I attempted to add some cool effects with Photoshop Elements. Just downloaded last week and still do NOT know how to use it. Christian had a lot of fun at this game. He was asked by the film guys to film for him because his other guy was late. Christian got to go up to the film balcony. He thought that was pretty amazing!

JV versus Cedar @ CHS

They had a one-in-a-million play this game. Ethan was set up to kick an extra point. The snap went over his head and he ran back to get it. He chucked it as hard as he could and Michael was there to catch it for a 2-pt conversion. It was a great recovery play. Made for some really exciting seconds and guilt afterwards as that was the ONLY play that didn't make it on the video camera. Geez! Another one was Michael went for a 5-and-in play and caught the pass with a defender right on him but Erik Mitchell lifted him up and pushed him for another 3 yards. Talking to Michael after the game, he didn't even know it was his own teammate. He thought it was the Cedar player. Not too bad of a score if you ask me!

Lily

Poor thing! We are having so much fun with her though. By the way.... I promise I am not turning into the cat lady!

Homecoming.....

As a mother of a teenager of dating age it is always difficult to come up with a cute way to ask. Homecoming 2012 Michael asked Haylee Johnson. We got a cardboard round box and filled it with candy with letters of his name taped to the pieces and then decorated the box with icing like a cake. The card said.... "The sweetest thing would be for you to go to Homecoming with me. Dig in to see who has a sweet tooth." Not too fancy. She answered him last night with balloons that said... "My answer is up in air. Pop the balloons to find my answer." She said YES. This stuff is so much fun!

Jessica's Tomatoes

She also has some peppers growing that she planted from the pit of one we cooked a couple of weeks ago. She definitely has a GREEN thumb!
