Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2018

Anime Festival Asia has begun! This year is the tenth edition of the event and the organisers have certainly put together a great show to mark the occasion. It truly felt like a proper con! Which I can't say the same for some other events. Featuring numerous special and cosplay guests, lots of events and activities and with very well set up and attractive booths. Check out some of the stuff I saw.

Anime Festival Asia & GameStart Asia Team Up

Singapore, 28 February 2017 - SOZO, organiser of Southeast Asia’s largest Japanese pop culture event Anime Festival Asia (AFA), and Eliphant, organiser of Southeast Asia’s premier gaming convention GameStart, have announced that both entities will form a strategic alliance to further strengthen existing events, and to create and develop new events in Asia.

C3 AFA Singapore 2017

C3 AFA Singapore 2017 is underway! I dropped by the event and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Quite a number of the booths were eye-catching and they really add to the experience. I had fun trying several games, performing simple tasks and collecting freebies, and checking out the various anime displays and toys.

C3AFASG17 - Starts Tomorrow! (Friday 24 November 2017)

SINGAPORE, 23 November 2017 – C3 Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2017 (C3AFASG17) formerly known as Anime Festival Asia, the region’s biggest premier festival for Japanese Popular Culture and anime, presents the best and latest content in Singapore from this Friday to Sunday (24 – 26 November). Held at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, the three-day festival begins tomorrow. C3AFASG17 is supported by the leaders of the Anime and Japanese Pop culture industry and is set to offer the best of Japanese content, music, food, technology and merchandise direct from Japan.

I have great. I have time. Ugh! Great time! Lol! Not the best wording I know but yeah I had a great time at Anime Festival Asia 2016 (AFA2016) which concluded over the weekend. The event was once again held at the Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Centre and we had three days of fun and excitement!

Anime Festival Asia 2016 (AFA16) is now on from 25 to 27 November at the Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Centre’s Level 3 & 4. With over 200 booths by more than 130 exhibitors spanning the entire Level 4, a stellar line-up of industry guests and acclaimed artistes, and an action-packed programme, fans can look forward to an exhilarating weekend of non-stop surprises and insights on Japanese Popular Culture and Anime

Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2015

Anime Festival Asia 2015 (AFA15) was a blast! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. It was going to be hard to top last year's mega edition but organisers SOZO I felt did just that. Occupying the entire fourth level once again and also the concourse level, this year's event featured close to 200 booths and had numerous activities and events, some of which were new elements such as the comedy segment. There was something for everyone. 

Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2015 - Two Recommendations

I caught a couple of acts on Day 1 of AFA 2015 which I thought were fun and cool. The first of which was a special performance by Real Akiba Boyz. They are a b-boy group who dance to anime theme songs. They danced to music from Love Live! and Shingeki no Kyojin yesterday just to name a few. Their performance was fun, energetic and at times comical. They will make another appearance on Saturday, 28 November 2015 at 3.15pm at the mini-stage. I'm not sure if they will be performing though. I Love Anisong Concerts

SINGAPORE, 27 November 2015 – Anime Festival Asia 2015 (AFASG15), the region’s biggest premier festival for Japanese Popular Culture and anime, returns to Singapore starting today till 29 November, offering the latest content and action-packed activities. Held at Suntec City Convention Centre, Anime Festival Asia saw over 90,000 local and international visitors last year. This year it seeks to break new ground with the introduction of an almost all-new artiste line-up in its signature I Love Anisong concerts. VIP Tickets for the I Love Anisong REBOOT concerts have sold out on Sunday, while tickets for the remaining nights are selling fast.

I was back for Day 2 of AFA13. The place was packed! You could hardly move in the exhibition hall. I felt ill after an hour or so of inching around. I had intended to visit the stage area so I decided to head there early. It was crowded there as well but at least I could sit down.
