You're Engaged!

Supplies:  Patterned paper - Cirque Card Kit SC, stamp -
Poets Society Card Kit SC, white vellum, sequins and seed
beads, memento black ink, Congrats die cut - Papertrey
ink, pearlescent card and envelope, machine stitching
and photo mount adhesive.

Morning!
So if you have been following along recently you will realise that I am on a mission to work through my stash.  Here is another card using items from two Studio Calico Card kits - Cirque and Poets Society.  I layered up six "congrats" die cuts to create depth - I did sneak two gold layers in the middle!.  My new find is photo mount spray adhesive - makes it sooo easy to layer up those die cuts.

Had to follow the current trend and make this fun shaker card.  I knew it was not going in the mail so the bulk didn't matter.  Tip - the seed beads help the sequins to move around under the vellum.

 Thanks for peeking.

Super Hero Time!

Patterned paper - SC Galileo Card Kit and sentiment - SC, Superhero digital image -
Whimsie Doodles, Coloured with copices, machine stitching and 6x6 card blank.

Happy New Year to all!
Hope you had a great time with family and friends and are refreshed and looking forward to 2016!.

While doing a "sort through" before Christmas I found this digital image printed and cut out but uncoloured.  I immediately remembered I had a fun boys art card by Ashley Goldberg for Studio Calico that it would pair with and hey presto the above card came to life!.  I have just spent a "little" while going through my digital image files to find where this cute image originated from and I found it in my Whimsie Doodles folder from 2012.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you are enjoying the weekend.

You lift me up!

Quick card share today.

I dug out the stamp set from the Studio Calico - Cirque Card Kit to stamp the hot air balloon and sentiment and used kraft cardstock for the base.

Sorry the photos are not great quality at the moment but we have had three storms blow through here - Storms Abigail, Barney and Clodagh and they have done nothing to aid with photo taking!.  More high winds today as Storm Desmond lashes the country but hopefully the wind will ease enough to let young sailors take to the water tomorrow.  The last few weekends have been blown out!

Sequins are from SC and I used PTI dies to cut the clouds.  The Peek a Frame Dies by Mama Elephant make another appearance - I think this stitched rectangle is my favourite die at the moment!.

Thanks so much for peeking.

Hooray!

A fun congratulations card or encouragement card - love the mix of sentiments which is something that I don't normally do!.
I can be a little odd about fonts and mixing fonts etc!.

"You did it" - is from WMS set "Kaboom" and "Hooray!" is from Studio Calico - Cirque Card Kit.  I stamped lots of stars in different colour inks from the cirque stamp set too.  The little girl is from Mama Elephant - in my heart stamp set and has matching dies. Patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Santa Express Paper Pack - gotta love when you can use it for non Holiday Cards too.

Thanks so much for peeking.

#happy birthday

So I had a bundle of unopened Studio Calico Card Kits!.  Sound familiar?  I discovered this fab patterned paper in the May 2015 Carolina Moon Card Kit contents.

Added some washi and cut a black foam base for the phone using the MFT Dienamics smart phone (which was also unopened)!!! and matching stamp set called Friend Request.  Kept it very clean and simple!

HELLO!

Well hello!  No I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but in recent weeks my crafting mojo got a kick start and I am back creating.

I am inspired by Jennifer McGuire daily but particularly her "Share Handmade Kindness Campaign" and here is my take on her cards for kids here.
I dipped into some of my unopened Studio Calico card kits and got inky.  The little images are from Mama Elephant.  I gave the little girl shiny red boots by adding glossy accents.  The tags were cut from Simon Says Stamp - Bundle of Stitched Shapes.

Thanks for peeking and thanks so much for stopping by!.

Hello 2015!

Supplies:  Studio Calico Far Far Away Card Kit - Jan 2015

If you are like me you are "oohing" and "aahing" at the Creative Team gallery over at Studio Calico long before your kit arrives through your letterbox.  However, with the holidays and recent time constraints to sit at my PC I haven't managed to look at one single piece of inspiration before I created the card above.

I got my package yesterday afternoon, opened it and created the card right away - I think that's the first time I have ever done that!

Thanks for peeking and stopping by.  Best Wishes for a wonderful 2015.

Happy 40!

Sharing a card I made recently for a 40th.  Trying to work my way through my Studio Calico Card Kits - mixing them all around - don't think many items from the same kit!  The fun bright coloured doily and patterned paper was from the Penny Arcade Kit.  The white ribbon was from a kit I can't find the name of! and I just love using dymo embossed tape for the sentiment.

Thanks for peeking.

Shoot for the Stars!

Supplies:  pp - Dear Lizzy for American Crafts (SC),
red cardstock - Canson, black versafine ink, white stars -
Blue Note Card Kit (SC), sentiment stamp - SSS, 6x6 card
blank, clear acetate and machine stitching.

As you know I love shaker cards and made this quick one without the fuss of hiding the "mechanism" of the shaker by using machine stitching to sandwich tiny enamel stars between a layer of acetate and patterned paper (Studio Calico - Marks & Co Card Kit).

Thanks for peeking.

Hello!

Well Hello Again - I am not around for ages and then hey presto I'm back!

So glad you stopped by.  This is another card from the Blue Note Card Kit by Studio Calico.  It's a 6x6 card and I just love the colour of this patterned paper and fun striped flower.  I added a large pearl on top and also matted the hello sticker on white cardstock to create a border for extra impact.    The colours aren't great in the photo - grey and dreary here today but it "pops" in real life!

Thanks for peeking.

Hello Friday!

Well Hello Today!  Thank goodness it's Friday!

Sharing a card I made from my Studio Calico - Blue Note Card Kit.  I have only just opened this box and have Copper Mountain waiting patiently.  I am trying to get through one - well at least open them before moving on to the next kit!!!.

It is grey and dreary here today and I took the photo above with my phone - so apologies for the colour!

The big hello die is by Simon Says Stamp and I was layering up white on white cardstock layers until I spotted this card by Laurie Willison which totally inspired me to put in a layer of the tomato red.  So I sandwiched a layer in between three layers top/three layers on the bottom of white.

Challenges
I am entering this into the CASE Study Challenge #175 - the amazing inspiration by Donna Mikasa (below).  My card is inspired by the jaunty angle of Donna's "Hello" and the repetition of the triangles is mirrored by the words on the pp.
and CASology - CONTRAST

Thanks so much for peeking - I hope you have a great weekend.

Hello... there!

Supplies:  Studio Calico - Valley High Card Kit

I am back creating but just didn't have enough hours in the day to post some photos!  My PC ground to a halt as it was running out of memory - just transferred/backed up to an external hard drive so we are back in action! Yipee!

Here I am sharing a card I created with the Valley High Card Kit I got during/before the Summer but never managed to get a chance to use.

Thanks for peeking - hope you have a great day.
